The Miami skyline sparkled like a jewel against the dark canvas of the night sky. Neon lights danced and flickered, casting vibrant shades of pink, blue, and gold onto the towering skyscrapers that stretched towards the skies.

The streets below were alive with the hustle and bustle of nightlife, full of life with the laughter, music, and the occasional roar of a passing sports car.

But far away from the noise and chaos of the city, Adrian’s villa was shrouded in silence as the inhabitants were sound asleep after a long and tiring session of plotting ways to deal with the Misty Swords.

Adrian’s plan of exposing the guild had worked hilariously well. He knew the guild probably still suspected him, but as long as he kept his act, none of them could prove anything, let alone do anything about it.

However, Adrian had quite a few enemies. So of them he didn’t know existed. Silently, a group of shadowy figures crept through the darkness. They scaled the walls and forced their way through windows without alerting anyone.

These were no ordinary intruders, but skilled rcenaries hired for one purpose and one purpose only: to eliminate their target at any cost. But sothing felt odd about them. Their movents seed relatively rigid for so trained assassins.

"Team... in... position..." one of the n humd in an electronic voice. "Awaiting... instructions..."

anwhile, in the kitchen, Alia yawned as she walked in to fetch a glass of water, her bare feet padding softly against the cool tile floor.

Just when she was about to leave, sothing caught her attention—a faint rustling sound, barely audible over the gentle hum of the night. She might not have noticed the sound if it had not been for her outstanding hearing ability.

Alia’s senses snapped into high alert as she spun around, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. And then, without warning, a hail of arrows rained down from above.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Alia leapt back. The projectiles embedded themselves in the spot where she had just been standing.

"What in the world?" Alia exclaid and rushed upstairs, dodging arrows and gunshots from unknown assailants.

On her way to Adrian’s room, she peered out a window, and her eyes widened in shock at the sight that greeted her. A group of ard n had surrounded the villa, their weapons glinting nacingly in the moonlight.

"Who are these people?" Alia wondered, but just then, she heard a loud shattering noise above her.

Instinctively, she looked up just in ti to see the shards raining into the yard. At first, she thought so of those attackers might have entered the villa, but that was far from true.

The following mont, she noticed soone jumping outside. It was Adrian and Fenris. Adrian’s shirtless torso shone alongside Fenris’s white fur, his muscles tense as he tightly gripped the minotaur’s broadsword.

Fenris, anwhile, had grown to her maximum size, towering over the assailants below with a nacing growl. But to Alia’s surprise, the attackers showed no sign of fear or surprise at the sight of the monstrous wolf.

Instead, they stood their ground, their expressions eerily calm as if they had been expecting Fenris’s transformation all along.

"Did no one teach you how to knock?" Adrian asked the attackers, but they did not respond.

Seeing that Adrian had their attention, Alia rushed to wake the others up. No matter how strong Adrian was, allowing him to fight so many enemies didn’t sit right with Alia, probably because she didn’t want him to have all the fun.

"...these are the creatures I have to deal with?" Adrian sighed, shaking his head. "Also, in the middle of the night?"

Just then, two masked soldiers jumped Adrian, ignoring Fenris. The wolf didn’t like being ignored. Before they could reach Adrian, Fenris lunged forward with lightning speed, her jaws snapping shut around the attackers’ bodies.

With a sickening crunch, she devoured half of their bodies in a single bite, leaving the other halves to fall to the ground, twitching and writhing in agony, yet the rest of them showed no reaction even to such a cruel display of power.

"Ghost soldiers, eh?" Adrian scratched his chin. "So that’s why they are called as such. I wonder if they are the system’s creation or sothing else."

After a quick stretch, Adrian set his eyes on the weird foes before him. There had been roughly fifty of them at the start. But most of them died even before they could lift a finger against Adrian.

Their heads fell to the ground one after the other. The green grass before their feet was soon marred with rotten black blood, confirming Adrian’s theory that these people hadn’t been alive for a long ti.

Instead, they were mindless soldiers, only aiming for his head. It was almost like they couldn’t see anything but Adrian and were charging at him like possessed demons.

However, just when Adrian thought things would be dealt with, sothing countered his sword. At the sa ti, troubleso words flashed before him.
