"An epic quest... this will be interesting," Adrian mumbled while mindlessly dodging the Ratling’s attacks.
Adrian could have killed the creature right from the start of the quest if he wanted. But being curious about the task, he decided to understand more about the trial first as it was the best ti to do so.
Since the Ratling seed like the easiest foe and he had a whole hour to defeat it, Adrian chose to use the ti to figure out what the quest was really about instead of finishing it in a hurry.
Judging from the language used in the quest details, Adrian had to fight the beasts whose organs he had in him. As such, he should have been fighting rn, minotaurs, and whatnot.
"But why is this brat here?" Adrian mused, kicking the beast backwards.
While he used to have the Ratling’s skin, he had long since replaced it with a sli’s. As such, the Ratling’s skin shouldn’t be incorporated into his body. Therefore, he shouldn’t be facing the Ratling during the challenge.
"Yet here we are," Adrian mumbled as the Ratling struggled to get to its feet.
The situation was weird, not troubleso. The Ratling’s presence ant that he would eventually be facing every beast whose organ he had ever absorbed.
"...it’s gonna be a long trial."
The Ratling scurried and jumped on Adrian. Unfortunately, that was the wrong move as Adrian grabbed the creature by the neck.
With its feet dangling in the air, the Ratling tried with all its might to free himself, desperate to break free from Adrian’s grip. But the struggle only hastened his death as Adrian, annoyed by the creature’s squeaky voice, snapped his neck in one swift move.
[The Entity, Sin of Sloth, yawns, struggling to keep her eyes open for the ’fun’ part.]
[The entity, Conquerer Of The Twelve Labours, excitedly punches a hole through his celestial abode.]

Adrian looked on as a door opened before him. But that wasn’t all. A glowing orb and a small chest appeared in the place of Ratling’s corpse. He put the chest in the inventory before swallowing the essence.
’It tastes... sweet?’
He had assud the essence would taste bitter and foul, but to his surprise, it felt more like honey.

"As expected," Adrian smiled, shaking his head.
Once again, he was back in a familiar place. But this place had lots of bitter mories attached to it. It was the sli pond where Adrian had saved Shu and Reena from Milka and his underlings.
"If I’d known saving them would co to bite in the ass, I would’ve gotten rid of them myself."
Shaking his head, Adrian walked towards the sli-filled pond. But sothing felt off. Unlike before, the pond seed restless. Suddenly, a low, guttural rumble echoed from the pond, causing Adrian to tense and reach for his sword.
From the depths of the pond, a massive sli monster appeared before him. Its gelatinous form shined in the moonlight while acid oozed out of the creature’s body. Strangely enough, the sli took a familiar sha.
"...It looks like Milka?" Adrian mumbled, scratching his head.
It seed the tribe’s golden child had co for revenge. Either way, Adrian placed the sword back inside the inventory. After all, he knew all too well that conventional weapons would be useless against a creature like this.
With a sign, Adrian stretched himself, knowing he would have to face the creature with nothing more than his fists and intellect.
But before he could strike, the sli monster lunged forward with surprising speed, its slimy tendrils moving to grab him. Adrian jumped aside, narrowly avoiding the creature’s grasp.
"You’re still a lazy bum like before," Adrian shrugged. "What would Suhi think if he saw his son like this?"
The sli monster let out a gurgling roar, its form quivering with rage as if it understood every word Adrian spoke.
[The entity, Sin of Pride, smiles and praises your confidence.]
[The entity, Sin of Sloth, stares at her brother with murderous intent.]
[The entity, Ouch! Got Too Close To The Sun, wonder how the User would deal with the beast.]
"Give so stat points, and I’ll show you how it’s done," Adrian smiled, dodging the sli’s acidic tentacles.
[The entity, Sin of Greed, can’t control his laughter!]
[The entity, Ouch! Got Too Close To The Sun, shakes his head and sponsors three unallocated stat points to the User.]
"Thank you!" Adrian smiled as he grabbed one of the tentacles, pulling the beast closer to him.
Despite its massive size, the sli monster weighed less than thirty kilograms (90 pounds). As the creature stumbled down, Adrian delivered a series of powerful punches; each blow tore off a part of the creature’s gelatinous form.
With each strike, Adrian felt the searing pain of the creature’s acidic touch, his skin burning and blistering upon contact. But thanks to his blood, the wounds healed instantaneously.
Slowly but surely, Adrian was closing in on the sli’s core. As long as he crushed the sli’s heart, it would turn into the limp, acidic mass Adrian had seen before.
Adrian launched himself into the air with a mighty leap, retrieving the sword. While it might not permanently damage the sli’s form, it should help clear a path to the creature’s heart. The next mont, he unleashed the full brunt of the [Minon Fury] on the beast, slicing it in half.
Before the sli could heal itself, Adrian grabbed the monster’s core, tearing it out of the creature’s form before crushing it with his hand. The next mont, the beast exploded, raining its acid everywhere.
And just like that, the battle was over as quickly as it had begun.
[You have killed the Emperor Sli!]

"Elental resistance," Adrian mumbled, his eyes widening. "These rewards ain’t that bad after all!"
The entities were impressed as well. It was the first ti they had seen anyone deal with a sli monster in such a manner, and they couldn’t wait to see what else the mortal had to offer.
