Chapter 138: Chapter 138: ngng Got Scared and Ran a Fever

“Grandpa Luo, Grandma Luo, sorry to disturb you,” Gu Zhihan said, his handso face regaining its composure while a hint of apology appeared on it. He then added, “ngng has a fever.”

“What?” Grandpa Luo and Grandma Luo turned their heads in unison upon hearing this, glaring angrily at the younger uncle, “Did you keep her up at night, scaring her into getting a fever?”

“Oh, co on! I’m not taking the bla for this!” The younger uncle was almost spitting blood upon hearing this, almost kneeling before his parents’ bizarre thought process.

“ngng’s fever must be because she fell into the river and got chilled during the day, how could it be because of scaring her?” the younger uncle quickly explained.

However, Grandpa Luo and Grandma Luo said in unison, “That’s still your fault. If you hadn’t taken ngng to the riverbank, would she have fallen into the river and gotten a fever?”

“Alright, alright, it’s all my fault, are you happy now…” the younger uncle had given up struggling and, feeling helpless, shrugged his shoulders then pointed at Luo ngng, whose little face was flushed with fever, “Let’s not bla anymore, we should hurry and take ngng to the hospital. Look at her, her face is as red as a monkey’s butt.”

...

Upon hearing “hospital,” ngng didn’t even mind her face being compared to a monkey’s butt, instead, she clutched her little blanket tightly, looking alard, “No, I don’t want to go!”

“How high is the fever?” Grandma Luo asked, moving forward to feel ngng’s head.

Gu Zhihan said, “38.2 degrees.”

“That’s not too high a fever; she might not need to go to the hospital. Just cover her up when she sleeps, she’ll sweat it out and feel better,” Grandma Luo said while searching for a blanket in a nearby cabinet.

Upon hearing they wouldn’t go to the hospital, ngng imdiately breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing her look of having survived a great disaster, Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but smirk, teasing her, “ngng, you’re really a scaredy-cat.”

“Tease all you want,” ngng puffed up her pale, chubby cheeks, pursing her lips higher than a soy sauce bottle.

As long as she doesn’t have to get an injection, she could handle a couple more spits from him without getting angry.

That’s right!

She’s just that spineless!

Gu Zhihan: “…”

Seeing her act as if she couldn’t care less about hot water on a dead pig, he found even the thought of teasing her boring.

After a while, Grandma Luo ca to their bed with two thick winter blankets.

“This thick?” Luo ngng got a shock the mont she saw the blankets.

Please, it’s the middle of sumr…

“You don’t have to keep it on the whole ti, just until you sweat out the fever, then you can take it off.” That’s the simple and rough way of traditional fever reduction.

Grandma Luo rolled her eyes at her, “If you can’t take it, then we might as well go to the hospital for an injection.”

“No, who said I can’t take it? I can handle it, I can!” ngng said all at once, then burrowed into the quilt.

And then she wrapped herself up tightly.

“…”

Everyone in the room was left speechless.

Just how big of a phobia does this child have for hospitals!?

“It’s getting late, Grandpa Luo, Grandma Luo, you should go rest. I’ll stay with ngng,” Gu Zhihan said, noticing that both old folks were getting sleepy and imdiately spoke up.

“That’s fine, with our grandson-in-law here, I feel at ease,” Grandma Luo was indeed tired as the elderly can’t stand too much excitent.

“What, don’t you trust to watch her?” the younger uncle couldn’t help but grumble discontentedly.
