Dia was caught off guard from the sudden turn of events. Her wide eyes seed to double in size as Jayce flew towards her like a bat out of hell. She quickly raised her thin rapier in hopes of stopping the fierce attack that he sent her way.

Jayce however had the initiative. He was able to put forth all of his strength paired with his dark purple sword, not holding back his rampaging Qi in the least.

"Heaven Sundering Slash!"

Jayce called out the na of his technique out of habit. His trusty sword glowed with power, absorbing a large amount of Qi from his ridians as it seemingly increased in size and weight within his hands.

Dia stifled a scream as she saw the sword slashing down at her. She wasn’t sure if she was hallucinating as the image of a large dragon suddenly manifested within the Qi surrounding the sword.

It was as if she was being assaulted by an Ancient Dragon who had decided to end her existence.

The rapier which she had extended to block the attack, proved to be ineffective against the rampaging sword. From the mont the two crossed paths, it shattered into pieces, leaving nothing between her and the attack.

"ARGHHHHHHH!"

Dia scread as the slash tore into her flesh like a knife through butter. Thus she was easily sliced into two parts cleanly, separated from her right shoulder to her waist, sending blood and gore free falling towards the ground.

However, Jayce was not done. Unsure of how the alien body was made up, he decided to well and truly ensure that this enemy would not be able to recover.

He perford another 10 slashes, changing the original two pieces into over one hundred. By the ti he was done, Dia’s once arrogant figure was now turned into minceat.

"NOOOOOOOO!"

A pained scream rang out behind him, causing Jayce to let out a small smile of satisfaction. Judging by the reaction of the brother, he had succeeded in putting an end to Dia.

He slowly turned around to see Baran reaching out his hand with a pained expression on his face towards the now fragnted Dia. While Jayce wasn’t a cold blooded killer, he refused to be swayed by the reaction of the alien who had co to invade his world.

Jayce stood still in the air, using these monts to recover so of the Qi that he had just expended with his earlier attack. The reason why he was able to deal with Dia so quickly was because he did not try and conserve his reserves.

He had only created a small window to deal with one of the largest threats in the invasion, therefore he could not hold anything back. He suddenly felt a little more relaxed now that the woman had been dealt with.

After all, if he did not take action it was likely that Dia would join the 2,000 soldiers and tear apart his army while Baran kept him at bay. Their side did not have 2 Core Formation realm warriors, which was why he had to resort to so underhanded tricks.

However, Jayce did not feel any sha. There was no fairness in War, therefore he felt completely justified.

He looked at Baran who was still caught up in his grief with a cold gaze. From his initial count, he could see that he managed to thin out so of the soldiers they had brought also, killing around 200 before they could arrive on the ground.

This filled him with confidence about the upcoming fight. As long as he could keep Baran at bay, Colin and the others should be able to deal with the remaining soldiers with relative ease.

That was of course if there were no more soldiers that would be coming through the breach.

While Jayce was recovering, Baran began mumbling to himself in grief. He looked as if he had just lost the most precious thing in his life as he stared at the fragnts that remained of his sister.

"Dia..."

Tears began to form at the edges of his large eyes, glistening in the mid-sumr sun. Yet in the next mont his face turned from crestfallen to rage. The transition was almost instantaneous as he balled his fists and scread out.

"ARGHHHH!"

Baran threw his head back and let out a roar, letting out all of his negative emotions. The rage seed to fuel his Qi which bubbled to the surface. Suddenly his skin began to turn red as if he was a boiled lobster.

However, Jayce’s face turned serious as he felt the dreadful aura appear from the grieving Baran. Unlike his sister, the powerful aura coming from Baran filled him with a sense of foreboding and dread.

For a mont Jayce almost regretted killing Dia after seeing the intense power radiating from her brother. Yet he quickly shook his head, he had made the best decision in brief window of ti that he had bought.

There was no way he would have been able to dispatch this man in front of him quickly, even if he was caught off guard.

Baran finally straightened up and stared at Jayce hatefully, his earlier cavalier attitude nowhere to be found. No longer was he wearing a condescending smile nor was he interested in chatting again.

Without a word he pushed forward through the air at breakneck speed, not giving Jayce a chance to react. Fortunately he already had his sword at the ready, choosing to block in front of his body.

However in the next mont he felt an overwhelming power assault him, hitting him directly in the stomach and sending him flying.

Jayce spat out a mouthful of blood before managing to stop his body’s montum through the air. He looked down only to see an outline of a palm indented onto his bare abdon a half an inch deep.

’What the f*ck!?’ Jayce exclaid inwardly. He had practiced the Divine Body Arts, which gave him a much hardier physique. Yet Baran was still able to damage him easily.
