Chapter 148: Truth or Lies
When I woke up, I felt a sharp pain in my back causing
to be unable to move.
"You woke up." I was still grunting when I looked at my side. It was Night, and he was drinking coffee. "You should have slept more." He said while smiling as he sat on the bed while patting my head and holding his cup of coffee in the other hand.
"What about school?"
Night placed his mug on the bedside table. "We can skip. Examination’s over, there’s only clearance left." He said with still that cheery smile. ’Looks like soone woke up really good today.’ I thought as I tried to get up but Night helped
as if I can’t get up on my own.
"Be careful. I know your body’s aching right now." He said with a sheepish expression. "I wasn’t able to control myself yesterday. I apologize for that."
Hearing that made
rember all the moaning sounds I let out yesterday causing my face to heat up and I covered my whole body with the blanket. Those mories make
want to knock myself out again because I’m too embarrassed to face Night right now. I did all sorts of things that I didn’t expect I could do. ’Like begging him to do it more.’
"I-I don’t think we should skip school though," I said while still covering myself.
"I don’t think you’ll be able to get off the bed though." Night copied the way I talked.
I couldn’t talk back to him when we heard a knock on the door and Rika soon entered the room. "I have brought the miss’s breakfast and so dicine for body ache." She said making
feel like I want to dig a hole where I can hide forever. "Does the miss want
to apply so oil to the miss’s back? I’m good when it cos to massaging too."
"N-No thanks, I’m fine."
Rika left the room after that while Night was suppressing his laughter. "Stop laughing," I said and Night imdiately cleared his throat as he brought
the tray of food.
"Breakfast in bed." He said with a smile but it makes
feel shy when he’s being like that. "You don’t have to feel so embarrassed." Night said as I felt his hand on top of mine, making
look into his eyes.
"What happened yesterday was a normal thing for lovers. We might do it more now." I blinked lots of tis after hearing that, but I couldn’t retort because of his sheepish yet lovely smile. "You were really cute, that’s why you shouldn’t skip als."
It didn’t make
feel less embarrassed, but I felt relieved that Night didn’t hate what he saw yesterday. ’I might have been making weird faces because of how good it felt.’ I didn’t hate it though. In fact, I loved doing it with him. It was my first ti, and it hurts, but as we continued, I started forgetting about the pain and it felt so good that I couldn’t control the noises I let out.
’I think I let out lots of weird sounds.’
Night stared at
with loving eyes and I couldn’t look back at him because I feel conscious about how I looked. "Should we go and have so cuddles after you eat?" My eyes went wide open after hearing Night say sothing like that. ’What does he an with cuddles?’
"Don’t you have sothing else to do?"
Night shrugged. "Not really. The oyabun’s not around, and the other mbers aren’t around either. They’re all busy with the affairs in Kyoto. We also just finished the last examination at school." He’s smiling as he tucked my hair behind my ear. "I want to spend more leisure ti with you."
I almost spilled my food. ’I-Is it just
or Night’s being ten tis sweeter? Too sweet!’ I gulped as I avoided his gaze. "T-That’s fine with , but I don’t know if I need to go training later."
"You won’t be able to swim with that back pain." He said as he helped
handle my food. "Was doing it from the back hard for you? We did it with more than three positions though."
I can feel my face heating up after he said that nonchalantly. ’Why should he remind ?’ I’m too ashad to rember the expressions I made yesterday while feeling good.
"I-It’s my first ti. O-Of course it’ll hurt." I fiddled with my fingers. "We didn’t do it just once, after all."
Night chuckled as he patted my head. "My bad. Next ti I’ll try to be more gentle." He said while blushing up to his ears. "I feel like I was a beast out of control yesterday, I should be the one ashad."
Beast? Night indeed looked like a handso beast. He ate
all up. "It was hot."
"What was?"
I blinked three tis after realizing that I said that aloud. "T-The weather."
Night tilted his head. "It’s raining outside."
I was stunned after learning that it’s been raining since the mont I woke up. ’No excuses now, huh?’ I sighed. "Y-Yesterday... you looked... hot."
Night covered his mouth with the back of his hand as he looked down. We’re both shy despite doing sothing like that yesterday. I continued eating despite the awkward silence and Night suggested bringing the tray of plates back to the kitchen as soon as I finished. ’That was awkward.’
I sat on the bed while staring at the door, waiting for Night to co back. That was until I heard my phone ringing on the bedside table. ’When did I put my phone there?’ I can’t seem to rember. When I looked at the caller ID, it was an unknown number. It made
gulp as I glanced at the door. What if this is Aziel and he’s trying to contact
about what I texted him regarding his mother’s origin?
But what if it’s not Aziel? Who will call
with an unknown number except for him?
I took a deep breath and glanced at the door again. It won’t be good if Night learned that I’m talking to Aziel again. ’But they’re cousins. It is Aziel’s right to know about his mother’s past.’ I let out a deep sigh as I accepted the call.
"Hello?"
There was no response after I said that. "Who is this?" So I asked again.
"My Ellie, is that you?"
My forehead creased after hearing a familiar voice. "Who is this?"
"It’s dad."
I blinked lots of tis before my eyes went wide. "Dad? Daddy? Is that really you?" Has he already woken up from his coma?
"My love, I am glad you sound fine." It was really dad. I’m talking to daddy. "I must tell you sothing important."
"Daddy, before that— are you and mommy doing fine? Where are you? When did you wake up? Do you feel okay? When can I et the two of you again?"
I threw all the questions I have at him. I’m curious and worried about them so much that I can’t control my emotions.
"We are fine, for now, you must leave that place imdiately."
This place? Does he an the Yamaguchi household?
"I don’t have the ti to explain it to you, but you’re in grave danger, my daughter." He said. "Uncle Kenta— no, the oyabun, they’re having trouble in Kyoto, aren’t they? That’s what Asahi told ." Daddy said causing my forehead to crease again. "You shall leave that house quick and do not turn back. Junichiro’s after you. Don’t trust anybody, not even Night."
"Dad! Wait a second."
I heard my father sigh. "I want to talk to you more, but I cannot leave your mother alone. Junichiro already tried to harm us the other day."
"Could you at least explain? Is Night in it too? Is he going to betray the oyabun?"
"Ellie you must not trust that man. I know you love him but—"
The line was cut off before daddy could even finish what he was saying. I shouldn’t trust Night? Why? All this information was thrown at
all of a sudden, and I don’t know how to absorb all of it.
"Noelle? Did sothing happen?"
I flinched as I looked at Night rembering the words my father spoke. ’Was daddy really referring to Night when he said that I shouldn’t trust that man?’ I’m confused as to what happened to dad. Why did he tell
sothing like that? Is he in danger right now? Is the guy nad Junichiro after them?
Junichiro? Where did I hear that na?
"You look pale. Do you feel sick? Do you want to sleep?"
I stared at Night who was looking all worried about . Is he really soone I can’t trust?
"Do you really love ?"
Night’s forehead furrowed as he sat beside . "I do. You complete ." He said with no hesitation.
I balled my fists as I stared at Night’s hand. Is it bad that I am doubting him and his family even though they were the ones who helped
when I badly needed it? What if what dad said was the truth? Why would he even lie to his only daughter? But... Night wouldn’t betray the yakuza... right?
’I don’t know anymore.’ I lay on the bed.
"I’m sorry to say this while you’re not feeling good, but I received an order to go sowhere right now." Night said as he scratched his cheek. "Do you want
to not go?" He asked even though he knows he’ll get punished if he doesn’t do what the oyabun wanted him to do.
I smiled. Night wouldn’t lie to , that’s what I want to believe. "I’m fine... just be careful."
Night leaned to
and kissed my forehead. "I’ll be back soon."
