Chasing And Claiming My Rejected Omega Mate:Alpha's Severe Regret [BL] Chapter 56: Dinner at the penthouse
Rory
I didn’t end up eting up with Kenny, because I ended up accompanying the old woman to the hospital when an ambulance arrived. She ended up fainting from shock and a lot of people praised for being fast enough else she’d have gotten hit by the big ass truck who had been speeding from miles away.
I waited outside the waiting area, anxiety eating at my insides as I paced around. When kenny showed up, I threw myself into his arms and buried my face in his shoulders, breathing in his scent deeply and feeling a sense of calmness slowly envelop . He held firmly and stroked my arm Witt the tips of his fingers, and I never want to live the comfort of his arms right now.
"You did a heroic thing and I’m so proud of you." He spoke softly after breaking the hug and I felt my eyes sting a little as a smile tug at the sides of my lips.
The doctor later arrived and inford us that she had a heart attack but is in good condition now. I ended up filling a form and I told the doctor I’d stop by tomorrow. The docket assured that her ergency contacts had been inford of her little accident so they should be on their way as well.
When I existed the hospital with kenny, we were sohow holding hands, and it felt like the most perfect thing ever. His scent was clogging up my nose this way but I still wished I could bury my face in his throat and sleep there, with his arms around .
I ended up getting pulled out of my thoughts when he asked if I wanted to try out a Thai restaurant staring right at us a few blocks away. I had to clear my throat before giving him a response.
"Why not?"

The next day, on arriving at the hospital, I t a man in his mid fifties there who introduced himself to as the old woman’s lawyer.
"I’m Rory." I tell him as I accepted his handshake.
Tne old woman was thankfully already awake and she cried through her note of appreciation for . I held her hand and assured her that it was fine and that she didn’t need to thank . I didn’t get to et my grandparents but I imagined that I’d have cared for them so much and loved them if I had t them.
After about thirty minutes, the old woman who looked like she was in her late seventies, told her lawyer was here right now because she wanted to give a reward for saving her life.
I was beyond lost.
I laughed as I began to assure her that none of that would be necessary. "Ma’am, I helped you out because I wanted to. I love helping people, and I don’t expect or want you to reward because of that." I explained to her but she shook her head adamantly, and kept on insisting that it would make her happy if I’d accept her little gift.
Her lawyer cleared his throat this ti before speaking. "My dear client of over two decades is fond of gifting people like this, so do her a favor and accept this little token, she was being honest when she said it would make her happy. Things like this gives her joy." The lawyer explained and I glanced down at my fingers for a mont before muttering a quiet ’oh.’
"What’s the little gift in question?" I finally asked and the lawyer responded almost imdiately.
"A sum of five million dollars."
My eyes bulged out of their sockets as I blinked at the lawyer and the old woman, feeling like I was listening to so sort of joke. However, I was reminded that this wasn’t a joke at all as the lawyer continued.
"If you’re accept my client’s gift, then I’ll draw up the docunts. Now, you’ll need to give your bank details so I can work on processing the entire money under your na, and putting a quarter of it into a black card, perhaps. So, what do you say?"
~~~
"I’m not gonna accept that. It’s beyond ridiculous." I said to Kenny over the phone that night. After exiting the hospital in a trance, I went through the rest of the day in so sort of trance.
After getting ho, kenny and I texted for a few minutes before I called him so I could explain the situation better to him.
"Why not? I think you should accept it." Kenny reasoned and I spluttered.
"Absolutely not! Did you forget the price I ntioned? Five million dollars!" I reminded him.
"I think you should still accept it." He insisted.
"Its ridiculous. Money I didn’t work for. That’s greed."
"Rory, it was offered to you because of a good deed you carried out, and you’re refusing it. That’s enough proof that you’re not greedy." He reasoned.
We kept talking about it and I was hella unsure, but Kenny kept urging to accept the gift.
The woman had invited to co to dinner at her house in two days and I had agreed, so I asked Kenny if he wanted to co with . He instantly agreed.
The sheer exquisiteness of the woman’s house was proof that she was indeed loaded with money. Kenny had whistled beside and reminded that accepting the woman’s little gift won’t put a dent in her bank account.
And I realized that he might be right.
The woman’s house was a pent house, and it was completely outstanding.
I introduced Kenny to her as a friend of mine and she ushered us to a table that was set like it was a feast for about fifty people.
I sat opposite from kenny while the woman sat at the head of the table. She was bubbly and kept telling us about one thing after the other, keeping us thoroughly entertained.
However, it was unexpected when she suddenly asked if I was single.
"I have a lovely grandson who’s also single. He has been single for way too long and I was wondering if you might be interested? You’re so kind hearted and pretty and I think you’d be good for him."
The wine kenny had been drinking went down the wrong pipe and he began to cough, while I remained frozen in place.
"Your son?" I blurted out when I could finally speak again.
The old woman bead as she nodded eagerly.
"Yes, sweet child. His na his Jason."
This ti, I was the one who choked on the piece of steak I had begun to chew on.
