Caspian’s POV

"What the hell is wrong with you, Caspian?" Damian spat, his voice venomous as he glared at and gritted his teeth, trying to keep his emotions in check.

I knew my decision would trigger him, but I was beyond furious as my mind was consud by a raging storm. How dare he casually declare that the person I love was dead?

My hands clenched into fists as I struggled to contain my rage. If Damian were standing in front of that day instead of being on the call, I might have actually strangled him. The very thought sent a shiver down my spine. Damian and Evander had no idea what I had been through— the agony I had endured. Who were they to judge ?

I seethed with hatred for Damian’s callous words. Even if it ant ruining our friendship, I was ready to destroy him and even myself. I knew Evander and Damian had enough wealth to keep the company afloat, but that wasn’t the point. I wanted to create chaos for Damian, to make him pay for his thoughtless remark.

As I simred with anger, a sinister plan began to take shape in my mind. I would make Damian regret ever saying sothing so disrespectful to . The consequences of my actions would be severe, but I didn’t care. All that mattered was avenging the pain Damian had inflicted upon .

"What’s wrong with ?" I scoffed, my eyes blazing as I glared back at Damian. "You are the one who started this!"

Damian’s face turned beet red in anger. "What!? Are you seriously saying I am the one who started all this? Have you lost your mind?"

Evander, who was sitting in the corner with Little Eliam sleeping soundly in his arms, intervened, his voice calm but firm. "Cas, can you please explain what’s going on? What did Damian do wrong?" He glanced at Damian, his eyes narrowing slightly. "And Damian, please keep your voice down. You will wake up Eliam."

Damian took a deep breath, his face still flushed with anger. "I don’t know what Cas is talking about," he said, his voice low but laced with frustration. "I haven’t done anything wrong as long as I rembered!"

I snorted, my anger boiling over. "Really? Then why did you tell that...that if my partner died?" My voice cracked, and I felt a lump form in my throat.

"Pa... Partner!?" Damian’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as he stared at , then at Evander. "You are doing this because of that, aren’t you?" he accusedas his voice rose.

Evander intervened, his brow furrowed. "Wait, what’s going on here? Damian, what are you talking about?" He glanced at , then back at Damian. "And Cas, you are saying you have a partner we didn’t know about?"

I chuckled, rolling my eyes. "Why? Do you think I will die single?"

Damian jumped in, his hands clasped together in mock desperation. "Dude, that’s not the point! You should have told you were angry about that! I would have begged for rcy and apologized until he forgave ! You are important to , man!"

Evander shot to his feet, his face stern. "Shut up, Damian!" He called out to soone in the study, and soon, Eliam’s nanny entered, scooping up the sleeping toddler.

"Take him for now," Evander instructed. "When he wakes up, he will have so fun with Dad and uncles."

Once the nanny left, Evander turned to us, his eyes blazing. "Explain! Why are you two at each other’s throats? What’s going on, Cas?"

I took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "It’s..plicated. Damian... He said sothing he shouldn’t have despite knowing how much I loved him!"

Damian’s eyes widened, and he took a step back. "What? No, Cas, that’s not true! I wouldn’t do that to you even if I wouldn’t have known it! You know... that’s how I am! I am just... I was just kidding!"

Evander’s gaze narrowed. "Kidding? What are you talking about, Cas?"

"Ask him rather than asking ," I gestured toward Damain, who was clearly on the verge of fake tears.

Damian’s eyes locked onto mine, and for a mont, I thought I saw a flicker of guilt. But it was quickly replaced by his usual charming smile.

"Cas, I swear, I have no idea what you were talking about," Damian said, holding up his hands in defense. "I an, it is you who said that you would introduce your partner but... It just ca out naturally!"

Evander’s gaze narrowed. "That’s what we are going to find out, Damian. In the anti, I think it’s best if you leave."

Damian’s face fell, but he nodded and stood up. "What!? Seriously? Can’t I even defend myself here?"

"Didn’t you hear what Evan just said?" I gritted my teeth as I asked him to leave."

"Fine, I will go. But Cas, we need to talk about this. I am not going to let you accuse of sothing I didn’t do on purpose." He said, and with that, he walked out of the room. His face was totally red, and so was his eyes.

He was such a grown kid.

I watched as Damian walked out of the study, feeling a mix of emotions. Was I right to punish him, or was I just being paranoid?

To be honest, at first, I was really focused on destroying the whole D company. I had my plans set, and everything seed to be going well.

I knew Evander would be angry and disappointed, but more than that, I wanted Damian to feel the pain of losing sothing he wasn’t supposed to. I wanted him to realize how fragile everything was, so maybe he’d think twice before speaking carelessly again.

But then, everything shifted. When Claire suddenly signed that contract with D Entertainnt, I had to rethink everything. I couldn’t go ahead with my plan anymore—it would affect her career, and she was just getting started.

Claire wasn’t just my sister-in-law or my best friend’s wife. She was like a little sister to , and I couldn’t let her suffer just because of a fool like Damian.

So, I had no choice but to adjust my plans. Instead of destroying everything, I decided to stir up enough chaos to make Damian’s life difficult, just enough to make him realize the consequences of his actions without ruining Claire’s future. It wasn’t ideal, but it was the only way I could find a balance.

I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but I had to make sure Damian understood that his careless actions had consequences.

Evander turned to as his expression was serious. "Cas, what is going on here? Why didn’t I know you had soone you loved?"

I hesitated at his words. I didn’t know how to explain. "I am sorry! I know we never hid anything between us, but this was sothing that happened when you were going through your bad phase. I didn’t want to add to your burden with my sad mories."

Evander’s brow furrowed. "Sad? And why is Damian always referring to your partner as ’him’? Was he a guy? Why did I never know about you being interested in n?"

I took a deep breath, trying to explain without making it sound like I was barely making excuses. "It was a part of my past, sothing I didn’t feel was necessary to bring up when things were tough for you. It wasn’t that I was keeping it from you, it’s just... I didn’t want to distract you from your own struggles. It happened a long ti ago, and I didn’t think it was relevant now."

Evander stayed quiet for a mont, his eyes still searching mine. "But you should have told . We have always been open with each other, Cas."

I nodded as I could see the disappointnt in his eyes. "You are right. I should have. I am sorry for not sharing it with you."

"Or were you scared that I would judge you based on your sexuality?" Evander inquired, his tone sharp. "You see, I even told you about Claire when I first fell in love with her, but you..." He sighed, clearly being fake frustrated.

Evander was being so dramatic that for a second, I almost expected him to burst into tears. He was acting just like Damian now—over the top and intense.

"So, when are we eting him?!" Evander asked eagerly, his usual dead eyes now sparkling with excitent, like this was sothing he had been waiting for his entire life.

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. "What’s there to tell you?" I inhaled deeply, trying to steady my nerves. "To be honest... I spilled it out to Damian because of his constant nagging and—"

I was still speaking when Damian suddenly barged in, as if he had been standing just outside the door, listening to our conversation the whole ti.

"Yes, yes, yes! It was who forced him to tell !" Damian said, his voice full of excitent. "It’s not like he didn’t want to tell you, but we had planned a specific date to tell you. But before that..." His voice trailed off, growing quieter as he glanced at both of us. The cheerfulness faded into sothing sadder, almost regretful.

I looked at Damian, feeling the weight of his words. "Before what?" I asked softly, not sure if I really wanted to know.

Damian sighed, clearly torn. "Before everything changed. Before... well, before the thing that made it all harder than we ever expected."
