Evander’s POV

When I heard Claire called Damian Senior had made my skin crawl. I couldn’t help the wave of irritation that followed, even though I knew deep down it was pointless. But when I caught her smiling at , her eyes filled with that mischievous warmth, I realized how ridiculous I must have sounded.

Still, when she teased about being jealous, I almost laughed. ? Jealous of Damian? It was impossible—though maybe my overreaction said otherwise.

I had absolute faith in Claire. She had been my anchor during the darkest tis, even if she wasn’t aware of it. I trusted her so completely that if God Himself ca down and claid she had done sothing wrong, I wouldn’t believe Him.

"No, Claire!" I said, my voice soft but firm as I looked into her eyes. "I might feel insecure sotis, but jealous? How could I, when you are the mother of my child and the only person I have ever truly loved?"

Eliam, who had been quietly watching our exchange, tugged at my sleeves with a pout. "Daddy, don’t forget !"

I chuckled, scooping him up from the ground. His laughter filled the air, lightening the mood. With Eliam in one arm, I wrapped my other arm around Claire, pulling her close.

"You two are my world," I said, my voice low but filled with conviction. "There is no room for jealousy when I already have everything I could ever want right here."

Claire looked up at , her smile softening into sothing tender. She rested her hand on my chest, her warmth seeping into . "Evander... thank you."

I didn’t need her to say anything more. In this mont, with Eliam giggling in my arms and Claire at my side, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. This was all I had ever wanted—a family to call my own.

However, I couldn’t shake the thought in the back of my mind. Our family wouldn’t truly feel complete until I uncovered the truth about our child. Was our baby really gone, or was it just another cruel ploy orchestrated by my dear mother to make miserable?

There was no patience left in after knowing that Gloria had tried to kill Claire for real! I an, stooping so low to kill soone! How could she!

However, I couldn’t act on anger alone; I needed evidence. Acting on impulse could leave with nothing but regret, and I refused to let that happen. But for now, I decided to set those thoughts aside. This mont, this rare peace with Claire and Eliam, was too precious to taint with my suspicions.

In the evening,

"Are you already leaving?" I asked, stepping closer and wrapping my arms around Claire from behind. The warmth of her body against mine was comforting and grounding . "I will miss you."

Claire turned into my embrace, her bright smile disarming as always. "You know why I ca, right? Now that everything is fine here, I have to go back and resu my work. But," she added teasingly, her eyes sparkling, "since Senior—oops, I an Brother Damian— took my shift, I can guarantee there is going to be a lot of gossip floating around and even articles full of rumors."

Claire’s playful tone made chuckle, though I couldn’t ignore the slight pang of irritation at hearing Damian’s na again. Still, I knew that I shouldn’t let sothing like this to bother .

"I don’t care about your rumors with that brat!" I said firmly, leaning closer. "I know he is loyal to , more than even so of my own family. And, more importantly, I know you love . I have absolute faith in you."

Before she could respond, I leaned down and captured her luscious lips with mine. The kiss was slow and tender, conveying everything I couldn’t put into words. Her hands slid around my waist, pulling closer as we lted into the mont.

When we finally broke apart, Claire’s cheeks were flushed, and her soft smile made my heart ache in the best way. "You really know how to make it hard to leave," she murmured, resting her forehead against mine.

"That’s the point! I don’t want you to forget while being there and I also don’t wish to let you go," I whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "But go. Do what you need to. Just promise you will co back soon."

"I will," she promised, her voice steady and full of warmth.

For now, I would let her go. But deep down, I knew I couldn’t rest until I uncovered the truth about our child. And when the ti ca, I would make sure Claire and Eliam had the family they truly deserved.

Leaving was the last thing I wanted to do, but after confronting Evander and sorting everything out, I felt lighter. It was ti to focus on myself and work hard to build a better future—for , for Eliam, and for us as a family.

Claire’s POV

As I returned to work, the rumors I had anticipated ca flooding in. Whispers about and Damian spread like wildfire. While I didn’t particularly care about idle gossip, the thought of my na being tied to anyone else than Evander—especially Damian, who was now like a big brother to —left a sour taste in my mouth.

"I an, I had never seen Damian treating a woman so tenderly and moreover, he had never been with a woman more than a week.

"Damn! Why had I not noticed it before!? I guess, they must have sothing going on between them."

I heard such whispers around from ti to ti, but the rumors escalated when I joined D Entertainnt.

A few weeks ago, I had made the decision to join Damian’s entertainnt company, The D Entertainnts. The opportunity had co up unexpectedly, and though it was technically Damian’s company, Evander was the biggest shareholder and had an upper hand in the company.

Apparently, Damian had nagged Evander endlessly to invest, and, in typical Evander fashion, he had given up and gave him the money. Not only that, but Caspian had also jumped in as an investor, turning it into a venture they were all involved in together.

It was Evander who first suggested I join an entertainnt company when the rumors began spiraling out of control and Sissy couldn’t control them anymore. Without a PR team to manage the chaos or relay my side of the story, I found myself cornered. Initially, I hesitated— after all, stepping into the entertainnt world was never part of my plan. But Evander’s calm reassurance made reconsider as I couldn’t let Sissy down as well.

Before I could fully process the idea, Damian Stor, the President of The D Entertainnts, approached with a proposal. Damian had always been known for his sharp instincts and persuasive charm, and it didn’t take long for and Sissy to see why Evander trusted him so much.

After several etings and discussions with his manager and Sissy, we finally signed a contract with the company. It felt surreal stepping into a world so vastly different from anything I had known before. Yet, in an odd way, it was empowering. Joining The D Entertainnt gave not just a platform but also the tools to control the narrative and reclaim my voice.

I was happy that I would be able to work with Evander, Damian, and Caspian, as they were the three giants of the company.

But despite their shared partnership, it didn’t take long for to notice cracks forming in their dynamic. Caspian, for so unclear reasons, had recently expressed his desire to pull his funds out of the company. It wasn’t a minor decision; his departure could have a serious impact on the business.

Naturally, Damian was frantic. He had rushed back to the capital city to figure out what was going on, leaving to wonder what could have possibly gone wrong.

While I wasn’t directly involved in the business side of things, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. I didn’t like seeing Evander being troubled, no matter how complicated my relationship with Damian might be, I wanted him to be happy too.

Still, I chose to focus on my work. If there was one thing I had learned in these past few months, it was that no matter how chaotic life beca, finding stability within myself was the key to moving forward.

I couldn’t help but hope, though, that whatever was brewing behind the scenes would settle soon. For Evander, for Damian, and for the sake of the company they had worked so hard to build together.

"Sissy, what’s on your mind?" Sissy asked, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder. "Are you missing your husband?"

"Of course, I miss him," I replied wistfully, "but that’s not what’s bothering . It’s Caspian. Why did he suddenly decide to pull his funding from the company? I an they started it together! It just doesn’t make sense to at all."

I gazed blankly out the window, my thoughts consud by the whirlwind events of the past two months. Ever since filming started, everything had been a rollercoaster ride. First, the script changes and got a lot of screen ti, then the location shifts, and now Caspian’s unexpected withdrawal of funds from the company. It was all so overwhelming.

"I just can’t understand it, Sissy," I continued, shaking my head. "Caspian was so enthusiastic about his friendship. What changed his mind?"
