"Uneducated?" To be honest, Phyllis felt offended. A slave—a kind of person who usually had no education—now he dared to say such things to her.
Especially hearing Dana’s smile, the one she always hated, made a tinge of anger rise in her. Though she was soone who could get angry over small things, she always had her own way to handle it.
Smashing her enemy into pieces.
"I rember your face, slave! I’m gonna crush you in the training lesson tomorrow."
Alaric frowned slightly but then shrugged. He had no choice but to let this happen. Since his inferior status had been revealed, if he didn’t want his life at the academy buried under the bullying of bastards, he had to take a stand. Of course, the best way to do it was to prove to everyone that he was unyielding and tough—that he wasn’t an easy target. Even if he lost, he would at least take down a hand or sothing from them.
Pretty soon, the professor quickly opened the door and began the lecture. Oh, it turned out this was a professor Alaric had t after he left the gate of Naless God.
A young and gentle professor. At least this one wasn’t a damned guy.
The first lecture was about the circumstances of the current world.
It should have been familiar, but for so reason, so people still looked puzzled—taking Alaric as an example. Well, basically, the slave had no education, which ant Alaric had no idea about the world, except for small bits of information. Unlike the children of legendary clans, who had known it all through their families.
However, the Academy was a fair place for everyone. And Alaric planned to exploit it to the fullest before stepping into a world where the word "fair" was nothing but absurd.
"Currently, the world is split into two parts: the inside and the outside circle."
"We’re living inside the circle, where no dungeons appear. But in contrast, the outside circle... everything there is nothing but hell. Countless dungeons have been rampaging, and soon, they will close in on this safe place."
"According to predictions from our scientists, dungeons will start appearing in the inside circle in about ten years."
"It’s a harsh tale to tell." Brian’s voice slackened for a mont before he continued.
Next, Alaric learned about the types of dungeons that appeared in the outside circle.
There were five dungeons, each nad after a color: Green, Blue, Purple, Red, and Black. Each dungeon was only for summoners with a matching color-mana core. That ant the green dungeons were ant for Alaric, who still had a green-mana core.
"Although higher-level dungeons appear less frequently, the low-level green dungeons are a big problem. They just keep popping up in the outside circle, releasing tons of hideous and nacing monsters into our world. That’s why we’re always on alert. Clans and guilds, from the smallest to the largest, occasionally send their armies to deal with the outcos from these low-level dungeons."
Brian shook his head slightly.
"Even if the resources gathered from the dungeons are huge, the damage to humans is too great as well."
"Ever since dungeons began increasing in frequency along the borders of the inside circle, many cities have been destroyed."
Alaric clicked his tongue, rubbing his chin.
"Well, everything’s going bad at this rate. That’s why reincarnators appear, according to what the Naless God said."
He just shrugged.
"I don’t care, I just want to survive. A hero... that’s not for ."
He leaned back in his chair, thinking.
"To earn more chaos points, maybe I have to go to the outside circle. The green dungeon isn’t urgent yet, but the monsters wandering there are enough for ."
He paused a little before rubbing his chin again.
"Sure, I need to hit the library for a while. Information about the monsters of this world is vital if I want to defeat them."
"It’s a pity this brainless slave knows nothing about the monsters. Indeed... the slave is just a slave."
He glanced at Brian, who was still stamring nonsense, and frowned.
"Whether he knows about the Demon Cult... Surely a professor would know. I’ll ask him once he’s done here."
For so reason, he didn’t feel right asking directly in class. Also, he didn’t want to draw too much attention from the child of gods.
"Ah, you want to know about them? The Demon Cult." Brian nodded, his face barely hiding his anger and disgust toward the group.
"Just one thing: they’re nothing but a cancer on humanity."
"They worship the Demon God and serve as limbs for demons from high dungeons. Always causing trouble around the world, killing others for insane reasons."
Brian assessed Alaric for a mont before continuing.
"For soone having a low profile like you, I guess you haven’t had much education. It’s a pity, but if you want to gain more knowledge about the world, you can go to the library. That place doesn’t just hold information about monsters, dungeons, and history—there are also records of rebellions and notable events from about fifty years recently."
"Thank you, sir, for your help."
Brian smiled and nodded quietly.
"Now, your life at the academy is going to be hard... I don’t know why, but it seems you’ve provoked mbers of legendary clans. They’ve uncovered your true identity."
"I have a piece of advice for you: stay at the academy and beco a professor. You might not get as much wealth or authority as the legendary clans, but a safe and stable life is easier to maintain."
To his surprise, Alaric hadn’t expected the professor to offer this. Judging carefully, it was a smart option for soone having a low profile like him.
However, it was too limiting to pursue his real goals, and his enemies were far too powerful. A stable life wasn’t for him.
"I sincerely appreciate your advice. I’ll consider it after graduating."
Brian nodded.
"We’ll be waiting for your answer."
