But it successfully piqued Roger’s interest.

This was the first ti Roger felt interested in a woman since deciding to seriously look for a steady partner.

Of course, Roger was not unfamiliar with won.

He admired this woman, but didn’t really intend to have anything happen with her.

Roger just nodded lightly and shook hands with Emily Vigee, "Sorry, I’ve arrived as quickly as I could."

"Don’t say that, it’s us who have invaded your personal space and ti. Here are so questions I will ask in a while, let know if there’s anything you need to change," Emily Vigee slightly bent over and handed him an A4 paper with both hands.

Roger glanced at it casually and nodded, "No problem, let’s start."

The entire interview process went very smoothly; Roger had worked with many hosts who were models making a cao appearance. They participated in recorded programs mainly because behind their glamorous appearance, there could be a soul that stumbles even over words.

However, in recorded programs, you can retake and edit, giving them a high error tolerance rate.

But Emily Vigee did not have such issues at all. Not only could she recite scripts, but she also communicated improvisationally with Roger during his answers.

The most morable question for Roger was, "How did you spend those days when you couldn’t make the team in high school?"

Roger answered honestly, "In those days without a developed internet or ga video replays, I hand-drew all the tactics and plastered them around my room. I practiced tirelessly, waiting for my opportunity. At the ti, I never thought I would beco a player who would establish a dynasty in the NBA, I was so insignificant then."

Normally, hosts would move straight to the next question.

But Emily Vigee looked at Roger with admiration, "That’s why people say, great individuals aren’t born great, they grow great."

"The Godfather’s famous quote, I thought no woman would watch that movie, or even if they did, they’d only flip through the cover," Roger simply slipped out of the interview to chat with her.

"Why not? Great works don’t discriminate by gender. I’ve read the original and watched the movie many tis, classics never fade."

"Then, who do you think in the league is most like Fredo?" Roger asked with interest.

Seeing Roger ask Emily instead, totally stepping outside the "script," an on-site assistant almost wanted to call a halt, but the director stopped him, "Don’t worry, Emily can handle the topic, this relaxed chat vibe is exactly what we need!"

Indeed, Emily Vigee remained calm; anyone genuinely familiar with the book wouldn’t stamr no matter how you questioned them.

"Fredo is not simply bad; he’s silly, but he wants to prove he’s not, seeking a sense of existence, leading him to do many foolish things."

"The more you say, the more that guy seems just like Fredo. He’s weak, but he wants to prove he’s not, so he does foolish things. Who do you think is more like the old Godfather, Vito Corleone?"

"You."

"? No, Vito Corleone is a master of manipulation, and I’m not skilled at that."

"Yes, Vito Corleone is adept at playing with relationships, but camaraderie is just the sugar-coating for the violence behind it. Because he is strong enough, human relationships can be reciprocated. Because you are strong enough, Roger, those who were once your enemies, Scott, Gary, Dominique, Paul, etc., submit to your leadership. Essentially, you are the sa."

Roger had not expected this woman to say sothing like this; now he believed she had watched the movie and read the original novel more than once.

She has not only a pretty face but also a genuinely interesting soul.

Emily Vigee seed to realize the exclusive interview had strayed a bit off-topic, so she quickly regained control of the pace, "Roger, one last question."

"Go ahead."

"Why, after winning so many honors already, do you still tirelessly pursue victory?"

"Great question, this is the sa question David Robinson asked when Michael Jordan returned. He didn’t understand why Michael, having achieved so much, would co back. Now I can tell you why, because Michael and I, we don’t enjoy the honors themselves, we enjoy the process of victory and conquest. It’s like fishing; many people let all the fish they caught go after days of effort because that’s not the purpose, the process is."

"Thank you for accepting our interview, Roger. I hope you will continue to enjoy your journey this ti."

"Thank you."

The interview ended, and everyone relaxed.

Although it was a recorded program, the entire process didn’t require a single retake.

Emily Vigee completed the work with maximum efficiency.

The interview team quickly packed up and left, as it was already very late, and Roger needed rest.

Emily Vigee shook hands with Roger, "Nice working with you."

"So of your viewpoints are interesting."

"Your definition of victory is interesting too."

"I never knew a beauty pageant champion could like reading so much."

"It’s just a hobby."

"I heard you have your fashion brand store in Miami."

"Yes, I do."

"Next ti I go to Miami, I’ll check it out."

"That’s great, free publicity is never refused," Emily Vigee joked lively, then turned to leave.

Suddenly, she seed to rember sothing, quickly turned back and took the half-eaten pastry box from the table, "Can I take these pastries back? I really like them."

Roger knew it was almost an empty box; most staff had left empty boxes in the conference room after eating the pastries.

But she chose a high EQ approach, one of respect.

"Of course."

"Thank you."

After everyone left, Roger returned to his hotel room and opened the schedule.

He was looking at when he’d go to Miami for a ga.

Two days later, the Golden State Warriors defeated their old rival, the Detroit Pistons, at ho, imdiately pulling the team out of the shadow of an unexpected upset by the Grizzlies.

In this ga, the Warriors and Pistons predictably battled until the last mont, but in the end, the Warriors didn’t rely on Roger’s buzzer-beater to win; instead, the whole team’s defense kept the Pistons from scoring a single point in the last 1 minute and 05 seconds, securing the win.

During that 1 minute and 05 seconds, Roger intercepted Billups’ pass to Hamilton and blocked Rasheed Wallace’s strong attack under the basket.

After the ga, he roared at the Pistons Five Tigers—he had beaten the Pistons many tis, but never seed to grow tired of it, always felt excited by his victories.

On the TNT show, Charles Barkley sumd it up.

"Regarding Roger’s answers in the exclusive interview, I can give an even simpler and more straightforward interpretation: Roger doesn’t lack money, doesn’t lack honors, doesn’t lack fa. He’s not idle, nor does he play purely for love of basketball. He tirelessly seeks victory because he wants to be the dominant one, to be everyone’s boss. Even though the dia has identified various flaws in the Warriors’ play this season, watch out, co the playoffs, he’ll still win."

Jay-Z is trying to acquire the New Jersey Nets, LBJ expressed no objections to playing for Jay-Z, what does this an?—"Cleveland Plain Dealer."

I don’t know up to when Roger will keep winning before stopping, but I feel this process won’t surpass five years, because there are not many worthy of his conquest.—"Slam."

Monta Ellis was arrested for speeding on a motorcycle; the Golden State Warriors have internally suspended him.—"San Francisco Chronicle."
