Bzzz, bzzz.
Right when Wuxing caught the phone, it started vibrating, signalling that soone was calling. Wuxing smiled, but he didn't pick it up right away. He placed the phone on the side to make it ring while he started eating the fish in the anti. Only after five or more seconds and few bites did he answer the phone call, saying while glancing at Shadow, "Hello? It's Li Wuxing."
Shadow was already staring at Wuxing with a frown, confused at how relaxed Wuxing was acting as if he was just talking with a friend. With that on the side, he actually respected him a little for being brave enough to keep Guan Dong hanging while knowing who he is talking to.
Just as Shadow expected, Guan Dong didn't like waiting, already used to having his call picked up right away and quickly scolded angrily, "Who do you think you are?! How long do you plan on making wait?!"
Wuxing smiled and replied calmly, not stressed out that he was being yelled at, "I picked up the phone when I could. I was eating dinner when a masked man ca and gave a phone. Of course, I need to finish chewing first, am I right? Unless Sir wants to listen to that."
"Humpf…" Guan Dong snorted and stopped arguing after realising that he was wrong, moving straight into the subject, "Anyway, you know why I am calling you, correct?"
"Indeed, I might have figured it out already." Wuxing nodded and relaxed on the sofa, waiting for Dongi's father to elaborate first. He planned to lead the conversation as he wished and Shadow already noticed it, watching the situation from the viewer perspective. He was also taught such tactics when he was training and knew where this was coming.
"And? Are you going to leave my daughter alone already? We both know what you want. I will get you out of the prison and clear your records in exchange for getting away from my daughter. What do you think?" Hearing that Wuxing was very calm, Guan Dong also relaxed, already thinking that Wuxing was exactly as he imagined, an opportunist that wanted to use her daughter for his own gain.
Unfortunately, he didn't know about Wuxing's planned sche and miscalculated what Wuxing wanted.
"I don't think I can agree to that Mr Guan," Wuxing simply said, rejecting the proposal directly.
"What do you an by you can't agree?! Isn't that what you want?!" Guan Dong raised his voice right away, getting irritated after being rejected.
Wuxing could only smile that that as he knew what he was doing and everything was already planned by him beforehand. So far, everything went just as he expected. Shadow sat down and watched the scene curiously, being just the spectator. He sohow enjoyed the drama and wish there was so popcorn nearby to munch on it in the process.
"First, Mr Guan, your daughter is an amazing person. Why would I reject her if I can have a wonderful wife like her? I know I might not be the right person for her, but we love each other and she is happy with . I don't think there is anything more to add here." Wuxing explained his stance, trying to be as calm as he could but he still knew it wouldn't bring him much.
Wuxing was just playing around with him to reach his goal.
"Love?! You guys know each other for two days and you call it love? Bullshit! Do you think I will believe you?!" Guan Dong didn't take that it well as his speech turned into shout before he finally began threatening, "Either you take my deal or we cancel it while talking differently. This option won't be valid soon. Your choice." He realised that soft thods won't work on Wuxing.
Wuxing smirked under his nose and asked with a smile, "Mr Guan, I suppose you love your daughter a lot, but you wouldn't want to hurt her feelings, right?"
"What do you an? Of course, I love my daughter! That's why I'm not letting her date you. You didn't achieve much in your life. She deserves the best man in the world." Guan Dong called out frankly, not hesitated to berate Wuxing's achievents.
"Sigh, does Mr Guan think that your daughter would feel hurt if I suddenly ignored her and left? Don't you think that it would create quite a shadow on her heart which would be hard to get rid off for a while? Sir Guan, you know that Dongi cares about a lot. I can't just leave her and hurt her like this." Wuxing sighed and explained himself to which Guan Dong didn't reply right away.
Wuxing had a point there. If he were to leave Dongi without any explanation, she would definitely bla her father, thinking he did sothing to convince him to leave. If one day everything was alright and suddenly everything changed, it wouldn't be hard to figure out the truth.
Not waiting for an answer, Wuxing added, his tone a bit different, much colder than before, "Also, if I were to leak that Mr Guan approached to make a deal like that, I doubt that Dongi would take it lightly. I suggest refraining from such threats, else the conversation will earn earlier, with bad results on both sides."
Guan Dong also changed his tone, asking while being quite annoyed by Wuxing's words, "You think you can threaten like that boy?"
He rarely t people who would dare to talk to him like that. He could do so as he earned himself that with his hard work. Wuxing was like a bug compared to him so it wasn't a surprise that Guan Dong felt offended.
"I think I can. We both have sothing we want so its only natural to negotiate fiercely. Everything is fair in business." Wuxing called out confidently, heading for the main goal of this conversation, the benefits he wanted to get.
"Good, good, you are brave." Hearing that Wuxing finally admitted that he wanted sothing, Guan Dong praised him and asked while forgetting about the threats, "Tell kiddo, what do you want?" The faster he will be done with it, the better for him.
"I want one million," Wuxing demanded while raising one of his fingers. When Shadow heard it, he almost choked, not able to hold back his laughter.
"What? You want one million?" Guan Dong was also confused, finding it quite ridiculous.
"Yes, one million in cash, United Nations Confederation currency. Delivered here to the prison." Wuxing confird, to which he heard laughter from Guan Dong who called out hurriedly, "Haha, deal! One million for leaving my daughter alone? Easy! I will get Shadow to deliver it to you as soon as possible."
Hearing the quick agreent, Wuxing added, "The bills have to be untraceable. If I find anything on them, the deal is off." But even with that, Guan Dong replied happily, "No problem! They will be all clean."
It wasn't a surprise that Guan Dong was happy with such a deal. For him, pulling out a million UNC Dollars was as easy as taking a piss. He earned this much in less than an hour so it would be actually more shocking if he didn't find that funny. To get rid of such a problem for one million was a great bargain.
"Alright. Let tell you the details then. I'm not going to leave Dongi right away. I need to spend a few more days with her and make her dislike . This way, I won't hurt her this much when I disappear. She is a great lad so I don't want to hurt her.
Is that okay?" Wuxing asked, moving on to his next part of the plan. So far everything is working just as he wanted. He couldn't help but chuckle in his mind, knowing that they were getting played.
"Mhmm, It's okay. Make her understand that she made a mistake. Also, you are not supposed to do anything funny with her. No fucking or I will kill you." Guan Dong quite liked that plan, but still warned Wuxing to keep his mber in check.
Wuxing nodded, agreeing with a pleased smile, "No problem. About my departure from prison, I want everything to be legal. The Chief Warden already asked for a lawyer to co in the next ship to et with and clear my na. It would be best if he had so assistance so I would be cleared of all charges faster." There was always Shadow sitting in the room so he had to keep the appearances.
"Shadow will fix that. I will call the right judge and it will be settled right away. Anything else?" Guan Dong was already internally excited, happy that he was right about Wuxing's personality.
He knew that it wouldn't be hard to convince him and that Wuxing was just an opportunist. Guan Dong couldn't wait to tell his wife that he was right and listen to her apology.
"I don't think so. If I need anything else, I will contact Mr Guan through the help of the gentleman in black. I'm passing the phone back." Wuxing declined, thinking everything was just right and threw the phone over towards Shadow without waiting for the reply back.
Of course, Guan Dong didn't mind it anymore, knowing the transaction was over and began talking with Shadow, explaining the details while passing the orders. Wuxing in the anti continued eating his fish which already cooled down a bit.
"Got it, Boss." Shadow didn't talk for long as he only accepted the mission orders and ended the call before looking at Wuxing who was calmly eating without any disturbance on his face.
Sothing was telling him that Wuxing was just pretending but he didn't have any proof for that. For him, the whole situation looked too sketchy as he already figured out that Wuxing wasn't dumb. With the way he acted and talked, Wuxing definitely was a scheming person that Shadow was already used to seeing.
Looking at Wuxing, Shadow stood up and couldn't help but ask, "Why only one million? You could have taken much, much more from him. Do you know how much money Mr Guan has? It's hard to even count. One million for him is probably like a hundred dollars for us, normal people. I would definitely take at least one hundred million…"
Wuxing didn't mind explaining so he said while eating, "I don't need much to start a new life. One million should be enough to cover my expenses at the start. Cash is rare these days as everyone is using cards or chips. I can easily carry and spend one million in cash but if I were to receive large amounts to my bank account, it would leave a noticeable trace that could later lead to ."
"Smart. At least you know you can't keep our Miss. Mr Guan already found soone to be her husband so it would be hard for him to change his mind. The competition is too strong for you. Unless you reach General rank in Seven Stars Special Forces, there is no way you will catch Mr Guan eyes.
Good luck with that." Shadow praised and surprisingly went out of his way to leak so information about his boss.
When he talked about the guy Guan Dong chose for her daughter, Shadow frowned and Wuxing easily caught that. It seed like he had so chance after all but still decided to proceed with his current plan which suited him much more.
"Thanks for the info." Wuxing nodded at him to which Shadow replied with the sa, before muttering while leaving through the balcony, "I will bring the money in two days."
'Hmm, General rank, huh? I guess I will have to figure out a way to climb even faster this ti…' Wuxing said in his mind, trying to think of a good thod to reach earn contribution points faster, but couldn't figure out anything possible. There was only one idea he could think of, but it was definitely one of the most impossible ones, forcing him to leave it aside for now.
Finishing the fish, Wuxing relaxed, leaning with his head on the sofa, knowing that these were the last monts of his vacation. He would be very busy in the near future.
Closing his eyes, he muttered, "The show is about to start…"
