"Huh? Soone, I know?"
Dongi raised her eyebrows in surprise. She thought she wouldn't be paid much attention in the selection, wanting to pass it silently by Wuxing's side but it seed like it was impossible. Her family roots were reaching too far.
"Yeah. We were called earlier for a eting and they told us to prepare. We don't know a lot of details as of now but we know it involves you. We will have to wait for Ash first. She was the one who talked about it with the headquarters," Katherine explained. "It involves soone with a higher rank than us so they didn't include us."
"Huh…? Isn't the higher only a God Rank?" Wuxing questioned in a similar shock and leaned to Dongi while asking in a whisper, "Do you have any God Ranks in the family…?"
"None that I can think off right now… Maybe it's not the God Rank but rather soone influential enough to be considered as one?" Dongi suggested, deep in thought. "I doubt my father would co through."
"It shouldn't be your father. I have never seen Ash so serious," Anna muttered worried. "Isn't there anyone else above your father?"
"The only one above my father is my grandpa… Wait," Dongi paused, her mind recalling old talks with her father. "I think my Grandparents did say they want to et with as my birthday is coming up soon… What if they heard I joined the selection and wants to visit ?"
Dongi couldn't help but get pale. Looking at Anna and Scarlet, she instantly felt the incoming trouble. How could she explain that Wuxing was simply helping them while his love was still with her? Once they find out she was sharing his body with other won, her grandpa would kill him.
She quickly turned to Wuxing, gazing into his eyes worriedly. "This is not good."
"Is your grandpa that scary?" Wuxing questioned as he took a deep breath.
Dongi expression changed multiple tis as she thought of an answer but everything sounded too bad.
"Let's just say… Whatever my grandpa says, it usually happens. I don't think anyone ever went against my grandpa's words," Dongi inford before assuring. "Don't worry, my grandma is good at taming him. There shouldn't be any bloodshed. I'm sure they just want to co and et ."
"I'm not worried much. I was supposed to et them anyway. It's just, why would they go through the Seven Stars and hurry the eting? Isn't your birthday far away?" Wuxing questioned in wonder.
"Ah… My Grandpa doesn't wait. He will do whatever he wants at the mont," Dongi said with a sigh and turned to Katherine. "Do you know when does he plan to arrive?"
"We were told to be ready in two days but we don't know the exact date or hour. We are ant to proceed with the Selection as normal for the ti being and there would only be so changes when the important person arrives. The headquarters didn't inform us what it would be yet," Katherine replied, releasing a deep breath as well.
"Let's return and wait for information from Ash. It's not like we can do anything about it," Wuxing suggested and the rest nodded.
"We will join you at ho after we finish writing our reports from today," Katherine said before they went separate ways.
The topic should have ended at that but Dongi's mind was in a ss. She wasn't scared of killing, she wasn't scared of her father either, but there was one person she was scared of and that was her grandpa. With his influence and the power within the world, she couldn't reject him.
She knew he would never hurt her as he valued family over anything but if he disliked Wuxing, there would definitely be so complication. The sheer thought of her grandpa taking Wuxing away from her made her shiver.
"Babe… Are you okay?" Wuxing asked on the way, noticing her change of mood.
How could she be okay? Of course, she wasn't okay!
"I'm not, but we will talk when we reach ho," Dongi replied calmly, but she still hugged his arm tightly.
She wasn't the only one who seed worried as Scarlet also kept close to Wuxing, tugging on his clothes but Dongi ignored it for now with a deeper issue at hand.
When they reached ho, Wuxing suddenly faced her and suggested, "How about we check what is going on by ourselves? I'm not sure if Ash can tell us everything even when she ets us."
Dongi opened her eyes wide and didn't hesitate but to take him on the offer. If she didn't know the details much earlier, she would keep thinking about the real reason for her Grandpa arrival.
"Okay!" Dongi called out and clung to Wuxing's chest while resting her chin on his shoulder. "Please take care of ."
Boom!
Leaving her body in Wuxing's care, she exploded her mind, splitting it into hundreds of small particles. At that point, using her ability didn't hurt her anymore, allowing her to travel to different places unnoticed.
Her mind particles swiftly left the houses, rushing in the direction of administration and the offices. To her surprise, Ash was nowhere to be found even after she scanned the whole building. She was forced to scan all the nearby buildings but her search was once again fruitless.
'Where is she hiding…?' Dongi thought as she then split her mind to scout the whole base. It was small enough to be covered by her.
Nothing.
Ash was nowhere in sight.
She checked all the buildings and she couldn't just fly away. There was only one option left.
'Underground!'
With that single thought, Dongi rushed under straight underground and she couldn't help but smile.
"I found her," Dongi reported to Wuxing and Scarlet before her mind surrounded Ash.
She was sitting being a desk in an underground office while talking on the phone. Thankfully, Dongi could see and hear everything well as if she was there.
"I understand, I will pass down the orders to the other Generals," Ash spoke politely on the phone but her face looked already stressed.
When Dongi got closer, she also heard the caller's voice.
"Also, please, can you provide so information about the people hanging around Miss Dongi? Sir Guan is interested in her female friends. Anything you know, please tell us."
Dongi couldn't help but get confused.
'Why girls? Not Wuxing?'
