Cassian’s voice beca firm as what he thought was just a suspicion turned out to be the truth.
He couldn’t believe it—how could a demon appear in Galdreth? No, not just in Galdreth—how did he even appear in the human world?
Cassian was well aware of the state of this world, and he was no longer the naive teenager who believed humans were the sole rulers of the world. He knew there were many other races, just like humans, and one of those races was the demons.
But this was the sa race that had been detested for centuries by the entire world. They were considered the most savage and cruel of all. After coming to Morthagar, he had read about many races, including the demons.
His knowledge, however, ca purely from historical books. People feared talking about the demon race, and no one dared to ntion them. Over ti, even the ntion of demons had beco a taboo in many kingdoms, including Morthagar.
At first, he denied that the man in front of him couldn’t possibly be a demon, because demons were sealed behind a powerful wall. No demon was born with the strength to break or bypass it.
"Then how? How is he here? How is he not in the demon world?" Cassian thought, his face losing all its color. He still couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
Impressions and opinions about soone could be mistaken, but their powers never lied. Only demons from the demon world had the ability to summon the sinned monsters from the deepest depths of hell.
And upon closer inspection, Cassian realized sothing else—the monster emitted a stench similar to the ones they had fought before. At first, he had overlooked this detail, but now everything beca clear.
He was right—no monsters could appear in the sa place in such sheer numbers.
It was the man in front of him who had summoned all the monsters, and he was controlling them with his power.
Cassian found himself breathing hard, his eyes bloodshot as he rembered the struggles they had endured over the past week and the bruised conditions of his companions.
"You will regret this," Cassian said through clenched teeth, his voice trembling with anger.
"I told you, you will regret it! Do you understand?" he shouted, his tone growing louder and fiercer with every word. In his rage, he thrust his sword into the ground with all his strength.
Breathing heavily, Cassian slowly got back on his feet. His hands tightened around the hilt as he pulled the sword out of the ground, where its tip was deeply buried. As the blade ca free, chunks of dirt and rocks scattered around him.
The flas on his sword, which had been dying down monts ago, suddenly flared up again, burning brighter and more fiercely than ever.
The fire enveloped the sword from the hilt to its tip.
"Oh, you’ve finally realized who I am? Shouldn’t you bow to now? ... the overlord of this world," Teneb said arrogantly, his eyes brimming with conceit as he regarded his race as superior.
"Ha! You’re truly delusional. A supre race? Isn’t that the sa race that can’t even cross a damned wall and has been confined to the sa place for who knows how long?" Cassian taunted, his eyes filled with mockery as he stared at the delusional Teneb.
The mockery in Cassian’s words struck a nerve. Teneb’s arrogant smile faltered for a mont, replaced by rage that darkened his pale face. His hooded eyes narrowed, and the malice swirling within them sharpened like daggers aid at Cassian.
"You dare speak to like that?" Teneb growled, his voice low and nacing. "You insignificant human... I’ll show you the difference between us."
"Go," Teneb commanded the monster, his voice icy and dripping with disdain. "Tear him apart."
The beast let out a deafening roar and charged toward Cassian with terrifying speed. Each step left cracks in the ground, its claws scraping against the stone.
Cassian stood his ground, his blood boiling with rage and determination. He raised his sword, the flas around it flaring brighter as if responding to his will.
The intense heat made the air shimr around him, and Teneb’s oppressive aura seed to waver slightly against the power emanating from Cassian.
"I will take revenge for my companions and make you regret coming here," Cassian shouted, his voice cutting through the roar of the approaching monster.
Teneb glanced at him with disdain and smirked at Cassian’s pitiful situation.
As the beast leaped at him, Cassian dashed forward with blinding speed. His sword swung in a wide arc, flas trailing behind it like a cot.
The fiery blade t the beast’s claws in a clash that sent shockwaves rippling through the air.
Sparks and embers flew in all directions as Cassian gritted his teeth, holding his ground against the creature’s imnse strength.
The beast snarled, its massive jaws snapping dangerously close to Cassian’s face. With a swift movent, Cassian sidestepped and struck again, aiming for its vulnerable side.
The flas of his sword seared into the creature’s flesh, drawing a pained roar that shook the very walls of Galdreth.
Teneb watched the battle with a mix of amusent and disdain. "Impressive," he muttered with a sneer. "But futile. Let’s see how long you can last."
The beast, seemingly unfazed by its injuries, lashed out with its tail, catching Cassian off guard and sending him crashing into a nearby wall.
The impact left a crater, and dust billowed around him as he struggled to his feet. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but his grip on the sword never faltered.
"You’ll need more than that to take down," Cassian spat, wiping the blood away with the back of his hand. The flas on his sword burned brighter, spreading to his arms as if his very body was rging with the fire.
The beast roared and lunged at him again, but this ti Cassian was ready. He leaped into the air, higher than the monster expected, and brought his sword down with a powerful strike.
The blade, engulfed in intense flas, slashed through one of the creature’s massive limbs, severing it cleanly.
The beast howled in agony, black ichor pouring from its wound. It staggered back but quickly ca at him with full force.
Cassian was shocked but gripped his sword tightly, preparing for another fight.
Suddenly, a presence appeared behind Teneb. Teneb sensed the familiar energy, just as he was about to respond.
"Teneb, let him go. We can’t afford to offend him."
"He is related to the Demon Lord..."
