588: Chapter 587: Camp and Breakthrough 588: Chapter 587: Camp and Breakthrough The Association’s camp was established outside the Barrier, surrounded by a circular earth and stone wall over ten ters high.
This wall bore no signs of chisel or axe marks, so it must have been created by a superpower user wielding Supernatural Power.
Atop every section of the wall, superpower users and ard Supporters stood guard, providing the camp with substantial defensive capabilities.
Inside the camp were densely packed earth and stone buildings, likely also constructed by that particular superpower user.
Wen Wen poked lightly at a wall of a house and smacked his lips, saying, “For such a person to not go into the construction industry, but to beco a Demon Hunter instead, is truly a waste of talent.”
The lodging for the Rangers who ca to assist was relatively close to the center, where each one of them was assigned an individual room.
Although the rooms were stark to the point of absurdity, they were still far more comfortable than sleeping in tents.
After the Supporter who had led Wen Wen departed, a sowhat sleazy figure sneaked into Wen Wen’s room.
It was none other than Chu Wei, who had not been seen in a long ti and possessed an Immortal Body.
Upon seeing Chu Wei, Wen Wen smiled and said, “You’re actually here too.
I keep seeing you in the news at the Ranger Terminal these days.”
Chu Wei was now quite infamous among the Rangers, ranking high on the list of superpower users one would least want to cross, and he had earned the nickna “Foul-mouthed Pills King.”
He often road from place to place, specifically targeting particularly proud Monsters.
These Monsters were invariably insulted by Chu Wei to the point of questioning their existence.
And since they lacked the ability to kill Chu Wei, they could only endure his ntal Contamination, which was quite pitiable indeed.
To date, two Disaster Level Monsters had been insulted by Chu Wei to the point of turning themselves in, and one Upper Sequence Monster went mad from the insults and chased Chu Wei all the way to the Hunters Association headquarters, only to be dismbered.
And the culprit behind all this was none other than a bottle of “Foul-mouthed Pills” that he had obtained from Wen Wen…
“I saw you through the window and ca over.
Speaking of fa, how could I compare to you?
Right now, you’re the superpower user closest to stepping into the Upper Order Realm,” Chu Wei said with a playful smile.
Chu Wei wasn’t wrong; Wen Wen was even more famous within the Hunters Association than Chu Wei, for he was the fastest superpower user from the Capital District to awaken and step into the Upper Order Realm in nearly a hundred years.
The reason why he wasn’t the fastest in the Federation…
was because last year, a Pervert erged in the Sakura District who possessed Upper Sequence strength as soon as they awakened.
Superpower users who progressed as rapidly as Wen Wen almost always beca part of the true elite of the Hunters Association by entering the True Order Realm.
There was even that tiny possibility of breaking the superpower user’s limit, achieving the Enlightennt of True Self, and becoming a Judicator!
After mutually praising each other for a while, Chu Wei leaned in close to Wen Wen and whispered, “Old Wen, I know you’ve got a lot of cool stuff.
Do you have anything like those Foul-mouthed Pills?
I want to buy them at a high price.”
Chu Wei had gotten a taste of the benefits of the Foul-mouthed Pills; relying on his Immortal Body, he had pushed the capabilities of the pills to the extre.
Wen Wen’s eyes spun around twice before he revealed a mischievous smile and whispered back to Chu Wei:
“I don’t have any more Foul-mouthed Pills, but if you want sothing for provocation, I can still get it for you.
Stink Spray that leaves a stench on the skin for at least three days, the Shaful Cara, the Balding Flashlight…”
The Sanctuary housed many strange items; so things Wen Wen found too embarrassing to use, so he had always kept them stored away.
However, if Chu Wei wanted them, Wen Wen wouldn’t mind selling them to him.
Initially, Chu Wei laughed along with Wen Wen, but as he listened, sothing felt off.
There seed to be too many terrible things associated with Wen Wen.
Could this guy be a pervert?
While the two of them were planning things that would terrify their enemies, Wen Wen suddenly heard the roar of gunfire.
His expression changed, and he flew out of the window and shot up into the sky, looking toward the direction of Yueshan City.
After pinpointing the source of the noise, Wen Wen’s left eye flickered, activating the power of the Mirror Eye.
He condensed a Magic Eye at the site of the conflict, seeing everything clearly.
What he saw was a group of variegated fierce tigers charging out of Yueshan City, numbering roughly a hundred.
They were led by an exceptionally muscular red Disaster Level tiger.
All of them were dressed in human clothing, with the larger ones using things like curtains to cover their essential parts.
“Wearing clothes ans these creatures have a sense of sha just like humans, but to attack the barrier with just this small force?
Are they seeking death?”
The dozen or so Giant Statue Soldiers in that direction opened fire on the tigers, unleashing bullets like small cannonballs.
Even tanks could be turned into scrap tal in an instant.
Under the leadership of the red tiger, the hundred tigers each used their powers; various abilities worked together, allowing them to reach the edge of the barrier before more than half of them were killed or wounded.
Then, under the protection of the other tigers, the red tiger roared at the barrier and spat out a red beam of light from its mouth.
The light hit the barrier, causing it to shake slightly, but that was all.
These tigers, in front of the barrier, endured the brutal assault from the Giant Statue Soldiers, emitting sounds of despair.
Wen Wen felt sowhat choked up hearing their wails.
“These monsters must be a suicide squad, sacrificing themselves for the future of their species…”
“Co down, there’s nothing to see.
This sort of thing happens every day,” Chu Wei beckoned Wen Wen and said.
Wen Wen flew down from the sky and asked Chu Wei, “It happens every day?
What are these tigers trying to do?”
This standoff had actually been ongoing for five or six days, and it was only today that Wen Wen and the other Rangers had been summoned.
Chu Wei shrugged and said, “I arrived two days before you, so I know a bit more.
These tigers are smart, constantly changing their thods to try to break through the barrier.
Every day at this ti, they make an attempt.”
“I heard from others that these tigers are testing ways to break through the barrier.
As soon as they find a viable thod, the tiger clan will begin their breakout.
“Once any virus-carrying tiger breaks out of the barrier, and creates a large number of ‘tiger-like’ creatures outside, the crisis currently faced by these tigers can be lifted.”
“Tiger-like creatures?” Wen Wen was hearing this term for the first ti.
Chu Wei replied, “That’s what everyone in the camp calls them.
The infected beings may look like tigers, but they are ultimately just monsters with the appearance of tigers, hence the term ‘tiger-like’.”
Wen Wen curled his lip and said, “These guys are still foolish.
If it were , I’d use the ordinary people in the city as hostages to shield …”
Chu Wei chuckled and said, “That’s exactly what the tigers inside the city tried to do two days ago.
But the hostages walked out of the barrier unimpeded, while the tigers holding them hostage were stopped inside and were turned into minceat by the Giant Statue Soldiers…”
Wen Wen looked toward the direction of the barrier with a touch of emotion.
Any one of those monsters, if released into the city, could cause a commotion, but gathered altogether in one city, they were as weak as ants.
