439: Chapter 437 In the Office 439: Chapter 437 In the Office This office building had a total of three underground levels, but only the first basent level was open to access.

The stairs leading to the second basent level were tightly locked behind an old wooden door.

The workers who frequent this place would sotis hear subtle noises and a ghastly stench emanating from behind the door.

As a result, what exactly is in the basent of the office building beca a horror legend here.

However, most people treated the basent more as a joke, like today when the thing from the basent ca out!

A ferocious Monster squeezed out from the narrow wooden door, and those working on the first floor were the first to fall victim to these Monsters.

They instantly turned and ran, only to be torn to shreds by the swarming creatures.

Ma Songran had no idea what was happening.

As soon as he heard the screams from below, he knew sothing was terribly wrong and imdiately started dialing the ergency number.

But the only response from the phone was a busy signal.

Even if a state of ergency had severed Hua Shan City’s communications with the outside world, the city’s internal communications should still be functioning.

Now there was only one possibility for the phone not connecting—too many people were trying to call for help.

He and his three colleagues exchanged glances, quickly locking the office door and barricading it with two desks.

Even if there were intruders, they shouldn’t be able to get in for the ti being.

Their office wasn’t large, with just four desks, and there were no windows on the side facing the corridor, only a solid wooden door.

Afterwards, they discussed tying the curtains into ropes and climbing down from the fourth floor, but when Ma Songran leaned out the window to look down, he imdiately abandoned the idea.

Two cars had collided outside the window, emitting thick black smoke.

Their company’s boss was below, being pounced on and torn apart by a giant spider.

“Is this, is this the end of the world?” a colleague with a shoehorn-shaped face mumbled next to Ma Songran, covering his head, on the verge of breaking down.

“Climb up, climb to the rooftop, maybe there’s a way out!” suggested another colleague with a kidney-shaped face.

The Monsters had erged from below; running to the rooftop might buy them so ti, but soon screams began to echo from other parts of the sa floor.

The three of them realized that running out now would likely end with them being caught and killed by the Monsters.

So Ma Songran and his kidney-shaped face colleague hid inside a file cabinet, while the shoehorn-faced colleague crouched under a desk, all three holding their breath, daring not to make a sound.

Gradually, the screaming ceased, and the entire floor fell into an eerie silence.

There were no more screams for a long ti, and it seed like the Monsters had left.

“Should we go out and check?” the shoehorn-faced colleague whispered.

In a hushed voice, Ma Songran replied, “Don’t go out, don’t make a sound.

That’s the only way we might stay safe.”

After a little while longer, the shoehorn-faced colleague beca increasingly anxious hiding and wanted to get a peek outside.

He climbed onto one of the desks they’d placed against the door, trying to stealthily look through the cat-eye peephole.

Looking through the peephole, his view seed to be blocked, as if by a black, thick iron barrel.

The shoehorn-faced colleague relaxed a bit, anything was better than a Monster.

But at that mont, the iron barrel rotated, revealing two duck-egg-sized holes, each with a malicious eye inside!

The grating sound of a chainsaw erupted, and Shoehorn Face hurriedly tried to climb down from the desk, but it was already too late.

A giant chainsaw, twenty centiters wide, burst through the solid wood door, piercing Shoehorn Face’s chest from the back.

The chainsaw rampaged within his body, and Shoehorn Face was silenced in an instant.

Whatever was outside gradually retracted the chainsaw, and the two of them, Ma Songran, peering out through the ventilation holes in the filing cabinet, were scared out of their wits, yet they tried their best to cover their mouths and not make a sound.

It seed that after killing Shoehorn Face, the creature outside lost interest in this office, and its heavy footsteps slowly faded away.

Ma Songran and his companion let out a sigh of relief.

The sowhat chubby Pig Kidney Face gently shifted his position but in doing so, a bottle of ink that was placed on top of the filing cabinet tumbled to the ground with a clear sound.

Both their hearts nearly stopped beating, knowing that making noise at this mont would likely seal their fate.

Yet the corridor remained quiet; the monster seed to have moved on and didn’t hear the sound.

However, quickly, rapid and heavy footsteps sounded, and before the two could even tense up, a trendous force smashed the solid wood door to splinters.

A desk used to block the door was hurled against the wall and broke apart, while another shot through the window and flew out.

Then a figure, nearly two ters tall, stepped in from outside the window.

Through the narrow ventilation hole, Ma Songran could only see the upper body of the intruder.

Its arms were thick, muscles bulging, but its belly was as large as if it were pregnant.

It wore sothing akin to a small vest for armor on its shoulders, with sparse brown fur on its stomach and what seed to be stiff brown bristles on its back.

On the monster’s head was a black iron bucket, which looked thick, as it bore countless deep finger scratch marks, yet the bucket remained unbroken.

The monster, holding a massive chainsaw, turned its head, looking for any living people in the room.

But due to the two round holes in the iron bucket, its vision was limited, only able to see bits and pieces.

After searching for a while, it still hadn’t discovered Ma Songran and his companion.

Just as they were beginning to relax a bit, the monster went berserk.

A muffled roar ca from within the bucket, and it swung its chainsaw, destroying everything in the office.

The office was not large.

With the way it was destroying things, it would soon reach the filing cabinet, and the thin tal of the cabinet would not withstand the monster!

Ma Songran’s heart raced up to his throat, but just then, a sowhat frivolous voice captured the monster’s attention.

“Eh, with a belly that big, must be a female monster, right?

Pregnant with a little monster and still out causing destruction, truly pitiful.

Don’t you monsters know pregnant won need to take good care of themselves?”

A man in a black trench coat, with a wicked grin, leaned against the doorway, chewing gum and taunting the monster.

Ma Songran breathed a sigh of relief.

Since the man had issued a challenge, whether or not he could handle the monster, he could draw its attention away, allowing Ma Songran to escape from the tal cabinet.

But the bucket-headed monster didn’t listen to the newcor’s idle chatter, swung the chainsaw, and the man’s head at the doorway was imdiately sent flying, his face still wearing an expression of bewildernt.

Ma Songran’s hope plumted.

Expecting a superhuman to save them was truly wishful thinking.

This was the real world where humans simply could not defeat monsters!

But just as Ma Songran was filled with despair, the black-clad man who had been beheaded nonchalantly bent down, picked up his own head!
