Chapter 1665: Chapter 791: Let’s Start with a Map

A red sports car that scread “luxury” from its headlights to every sharp angle was cruising down the highway. In the passenger seat, Rachel Dugriya anxiously urged, “Hurry up, Gina! We absolutely have to get there before them. How dare they refuse my kindness? Let surprise them!”

“Rachel, just how bored are you exactly?” Gina Fox slightly frowned her pretty brows. “I…”

“Don’t you think that mysterious guy is super handso?” Rachel quickly interrupted her with a look of longing. “Think about it: if the first romance of my college life started with a mysterious dude from an exotic Eastern country, then…”

“Rachel Dugriya!” Gina exclaid irritably.

“Alright, alright, my dear Gina sweetie, I’m just imagining it, okay? None of this has actually happened yet, right?” Rachel imdiately put on a mischievous grin upon hearing her best friend call her by her full na, realizing that she had genuinely upset her.

Gina fell silent, helplessly continuing to drive. She was well aware that her companion was, in fact, a troublemaker to the extre—a day without stirring up drama left her feeling outright uncomfortable.

It was the sa everywhere, be it in China or Arica; there were always those born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Among them, so used their parents as role models and worked so hard it left people in awe; another share of them, constrained by their abilities, took up stable roles within their families; and inevitably, there were so who beca notorious “spoiled heirs,” free from all concerns of livelihood, causing mischief every day…

There were countless examples of this; so many that there’s no need to detail them.

Actually, to say so isn’t entirely correct—getting into trouble knows no distinction of wealth or poverty. People of all kinds caused problems. It’s just that spoiled heirs, given their family resources, drew more public attention to their antics, while those with poor conditions were tagged as “losers” instead…

Despite her golden hair and blue eyes, and being an undisputed little beauty who seed delicate and fragile, Rachel’s ability to stir trouble was no less impressive. Take, for example, the ti she planned a protest against a company’s decision to introduce new machinery that reduced job opportunities—only to inadvertently target her own family’s company. The protest didn’t even get off the ground, as her allowance was imdiately frozen and her accounts cut off, resulting in the event fizzling due to lack of funding.

Having the smarts to gain admission into Stanford University, Rachel was far from a mindless girl. The issue lay in her utterly unique ntal circuitry; despite her wealthy upbringing, she fantasized daily about being a champion of human rights…

“I won’t drive to wait for those two Chinese scholars with you. Honestly, I think that young man—the one you’re calling ‘mysterious cool guy’—might be a very threatening individual. Though his words sounded ridiculous, I have a bad feeling. A really bad feeling…” Breaking the silence in the car, Gina finally spoke.

“Threatening? Are you saying he’s dangerous?” Rachel began to daydream. “A young man from a mysterious country, spouting arrogant lines, exuding an undeniable aura of danger—don’t you think it’s just like the start of a knight’s novel? He’s in a foreign land, constantly vigilant of everything around him. And then, a beautiful maiden from another realm lts his cold heart with her fiery passion…”

“Anyway, I’m not listening to you anymore,” Gina cut off the delusional musings of her airheaded friend. “We’re heading back to school. Maybe we won’t even see him again. I doubt he’ll stay here very long, which is why I hope, for your own safety, that during the ti he’s still in the country, you avoid eting him as much as possible.”

“No, you can’t interfere with my freedom,” Rachel replied angrily. “Do you know Kung Fu? I bet he’s trained in so mystical Eastern martial arts; that’s why you feel he’s dangerous. In actuality, he probably has the fine qualities of Eastern n—delicate, gentle, reserved, maybe even a little shy… He just needs soone to lt his icy heart, that’s all.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll make sure to pass on all these words to Mr. Dugriya. Good luck to you, my dear friend,” Gina remarked.

“Fine, fine, I’ll do as you say, okay?” Rachel grew even more irritated, muttering under her breath. “Can’t believe it—you’re still the sa. I’m already in college, yet you’re still that ‘tattle-tale’…”

Gina didn’t respond further. Expressionless, she turned the car at an intersection, heading toward the increasingly lively direction in the distance.

Shortly after their car passed through, a taxi drove straight through the sa intersection. Inside, Yang Xing was rambling on, “Alright, we’ve officially entered Stanford’s territory now. This university is pretty much a city in itself; it’s Arica’s second-largest university. Oh, and it’s also ho to sothing young folks find especially interesting. Have you heard of Silicon Valley?”

“What a waste. I know you’ve got money, but you shouldn’t have taken a cab directly here. There’s dedicated shuttle vehicles from the airport to campus—taxis are way too expensive…”

Yan Fei hadn’t said much; it was mostly Yang Xing talking. Earlier, the two had ended up selecting a taxi out of sheer necessity, as those two rich girls—especially Rachel—were nagging incessantly about accompanying them back to school. To refuse her outright, Yan Fei had simply flagged down a taxi at random.
