Chapter 1664: Chapter 790: You Saved Arica_2

“No…” Rachel stubbornly insisted on sticking to her opinion.

“Why not? Can’t you just let it go, my dear?” Gina interrupted her. “Look, we’ve already disrupted the normal security process at the airport. Even if you don’t care about that, I don’t think Mr. Doulglinia would want to see his precious little daughter acting like a… a fighting rooster in a standoff with these brutes, right?”

When she ntioned “fighting rooster,” a faint smile appeared on her face but quickly vanished as she pretended to take on a serious deanor.

“Fine… okay!” Rachel seed to rember sothing and hesitated before speaking reluctantly. “But I won’t let this slide. You see, this is our association’s chance to make a big splash, isn’t it?”

Mr. Baogei’s face darkened even more upon hearing her words. But for now, he forced a smile and said, “This is all a misunderstanding, a big misunderstanding. Right? Two esteed scholars from foreign lands, I’m sure you’ve noticed… it’s really all just a misunderstanding…”

A misunderstanding, my ass!

But before Yan Fei could speak, Yang Xing had already stepped in. “I hope it’s as you say. If this truly is a misunderstanding, then can we leave now?”

Just monts ago, Yang Xing had stood his ground against the ominous gun barrels, but now that the situation had drastically shifted, all he wanted was to get Yan Fei out of this ss as soon as possible. As for the rest—given the current international climate—what could he really do?

Mr. Baogei kept apologizing profusely, especially toward the two girls, to the point where his overly accommodating attitude was baffling. But when those security personnel began quietly dispersing, and so bystanders sneakily took out caras to snap photos of the two girls, Yan Fei started to understand.

So this was one of those second-generation heirs from abroad, huh? One look at Rachel’s defiant face, and Gina’s high-handed attitude toward Mr. Baogei (despite her gentle deanor toward Rachel), and Yan Fei figured it out.

And indeed, after having his own plans interrupted, Yan Fei only needed to listen to the surrounding chatter for a mont to discern the girls’ identities.

Rachel Dugriya, the little princess of the powerful Doulglinia Family; and her companion—or best friend—Gina Fox was no ordinary person either, also hailing from another corporate dynasty.

Though he didn’t know exactly how large these financial empires were, judging by Mr. Baogei’s attitude, one could make an educated guess.

So Mr. Baogei’s deference had nothing to do with so damn association. It was solely because Rachel had na-dropped herself and her companion, leaving him no choice but to bow down.

He might have been able to pin baseless accusations on a couple of nobodies, but facing a notorious troublemaking socialite, sticking to any so-called “principles” would likely see the major shareholders behind the airport toss him out in order to appease her tantrum.

Ultimately, as the group headed to an office for “amicable discussions,” each person’s mind was filled with conflicting thoughts, but they shared the sa overarching sentint: unwillingness.

Rachel wanted to “boost the profile” of her ridiculous association and wasn’t ready for the matter to end so easily. Despite her knack for causing trouble, she at least understood that once the three sides sat down to negotiate, her “big splash” plan would be thoroughly derailed.

Yang Xing just wanted to leave, while Yan Fei couldn’t be bothered to humor these barbarians. Gina, on the other hand, was growing exasperated by her friend’s antics, already pondering how to dissuade Rachel from her nonsensical ideas…

Mr. Baogei felt even more helpless and frustrated. This world was so damn unfair. After slogging through half his life, he had finally clawed his way up to a manager position. Yet now, all his efforts teetered on the brink of collapse. If he couldn’t pacify one troubleso socialite, his decades of hard work would go down the drain.

In the bright and spacious office, Mr. Baogei’s voice echoed relentlessly as he explained and apologized to the group. He endlessly assured them that the security personnel had simply been overly emotional and promised to discipline and educate them rigorously in the future…

In reality, his sole target for pacification was Rachel.

After Yang Xing accepted his apologies and declined the offer of two complintary tickets as compensation, Mr. Baogei directed all his energy toward the notorious troublemaker: “I’ve heard that in the eastern part of Four Fey Market, so African Aricans are holding protests against unfair treatnt. I feel this topic would be very beneficial in raising the profile of your association, Miss Rachel…”

“Shut up!” Just as Mr. Baogei was getting carried away with what he thought was a brilliant suggestion, Gina roared, cutting him off. “Are you suggesting the daughter of the Doulglinia Family venture into those ‘remote areas?'”

While her words weren’t explicit, they sent a chill down Mr. Baogei’s spine.

He imdiately slapped himself lightly on the face and said to the wide-eyed Rachel, who looked on the brink of excitent, “I’m so sorry, I misspoke. Actually, you know, besides the two scholars with us here, there are many Chinese people living in our Four Fey Market—yes, in Chinatown. I think Miss Rachel could find so aningful material there…”

Many people assu Arica is a paradise, but the truth is, it’s a blend of heaven and hell. And the darkest corners, without a doubt, are those ethnic enclaves starkly contrasting with Mr. Baogei’s own fair-skinned world.

In Arica, these areas make Chinatown look like a safe haven. If Rachel were to tour Chinatown, she would likely encounter mostly goodwill. But for a delicate, leggy beauty like her to stroll into the eastern districts Mr. Baogei had referred to—returning unscathed would itself be considered a miracle!

This was why Mr. Baogei broke into a cold sweat. If this troublemaker really ventured into those parts and sothing happened, it wouldn’t just be his job—his family’s livelihood might face unimaginable consequences…

Who the hell said Arica was paradise? For soone like Mr. Baogei, who grew up in this country, he knew all too well: yes, it’s a paradise, but only for the wealthy elites and corporate dynasties. Even though he shared the sa pale skin, he was nothing more than a pathetic laborer whose work could be uprooted by the smallest mishap.

If he lost this job because he offended those powerful families, the benevolent banks that had ‘kindly’ helped him secure his house, van, and money would circle him like sharks scenting blood, tearing away everything he had left…

Life is hard. Handle with care!

In the end, under Mr. Baogei’s eloquent maneuvering and Gina’s persuasion, the troublemaker reluctantly announced that she would still hold people accountable for the incident. As for the compensations Mr. Baogei offered—that didn’t cost her a penny—she dismissively declared her disdain.

When the group was about to leave the office, Yang Xing turned toward Rachel and Gina with a word of thanks.

But the troublemaker was far from satisfied: “You shouldn’t let them off so easily. For people like this, who could commit racial discrimination at any mont, you should beat them down hard and stomp on them twice more!”

Watching her stamp her foot on the floor angrily, Yang Xing rely gave a bitter smile, choosing not to argue, and repeated his thanks.

As he was about to leave with Yan Fei, the troublemaker shouted at Yan Fei, “Hey, big guy. Aren’t you going to thank ? You know, I was the one who bravely rushed in under all those gun barrels to save you both!”

Yan Fei didn’t say a word, continuing to walk forward without even slowing his pace.

“Hey!” The sound of hurried high heels approached, and the troublemaker blocked Yan Fei’s path, tilting her head slightly to look up at him. “You haven’t answered yet.”

Under Yang Xing’s mixture of encouragent and pleading in his gaze, Yan Fei reluctantly stopped.

He glanced at Rachel, whose face carried a hint of expectation. Then at Gina, who was studying him curiously. And finally at Mr. Baogei, who was smiling obsequiously. With a slight shake of his head, he said, “I don’t need to thank you. It’s the Arican people who should thank you. Because today, your actions saved Arica!”
