Alistair’s gaze fell on Alia’s three bodyguards.
He was not unfamiliar with these three; they possessed considerable strength within the Fenwick family, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been chosen to protect Alia.
He asked in a deep voice, "Aren’t you Alia’s bodyguards? Why didn’t you appear earlier to protect her?"
Julia had her reasons, "We didn’t anticipate that Carlotta White would do such a thing. It was completely unexpected. By the ti we reacted, the young lady had already been taken hostage."
Couldn’t react?
Alistair sneered repeatedly. How could he possibly believe Julia’s words? He still didn’t believe that Alia could be so easily taken hostage. It was all a ruse, a pretense by Carlotta and Alia!
With that, he leaped forward, charging directly at Carlotta, aiming to capture her.
After all, Carlotta was only at the apprentice level and would have no power to resist him.
Alistair was fast, closing the distance to Carlotta in an instant. However, before Carlotta could do anything, Alistair felt a heavy blow to his head. The intense impact stiffened his movents, and then a vine erged from beneath him, wrapping around him and flinging him back.
It was Laurie and Lina who had acted!
Laurie used soundwave magic to stun Alistair in ti, while Lina used plant magic to grab him and throw him back.
"What are you doing?"
The rest of the Carlisle family mbers were alard and quickly caught the thrown-back Alistair.
Julia, with a louder voice, questioned, "We should be the ones asking what you are doing. Knowing our young lady has been taken hostage, you still deliberately attack. Do you want to kill our young lady? What are your intentions?"
She seed genuinely wronged, her eyes wide as she glared at the Carlisle family mbers.
Laurie and Lina also glared over.
Under the treatnt of the other Carlisle family mbers, Alistair regained his clarity and was furious.
"Nonsense! How could Alia be taken hostage? You clearly want to protect Carlotta White. You are committing a cri. Grand, let’s join forces and take down the target."
When he said the last sentence, Alistair looked at the investigation team.
Grand hesitated and said, "Isn’t this inappropriate? If Miss Fenwick is taken hostage and we act, causing her harm, what then?"
Alistair almost spat blood and shouted, "I’ve already said, Alia can’t be taken hostage. It’s all a lie. They are deceiving us. Can’t you understand?"
Grand frowned, "This is just your speculation, isn’t it?"
Unlike Alistair, he didn’t know Alia well and lacked a strong backing. Therefore, he had to choose a more conservative approach.
For Alistair, even if Alia were truly taken hostage and hard by their attack, so what? Alistair had the Carlisle family behind him.
But Grand didn’t have a noble family backing him. He had worked hard to reach his current position and couldn’t afford to take such risks.
Alistair was so angry his nose almost twisted, "Coward, I won’t waste my breath on you. All mbers of the Carlisle family follow and attack."
"Do you think we don’t exist?"
Julia and the other two imdiately blocked the way.
Alistair coldly said, "Are you really going to shield Carlotta White?"
Julia said gravely, "Don’t talk nonsense. We are willing to follow the Emperor’s orders to capture the criminal, but our young lady has been taken hostage. We must plan carefully."
"To hell with you!"
Alistair didn’t want to waste any more words. His eyes were cold as he led the dozen or so mbers of the Carlisle family to charge forward.
A fierce battle thus erupted on the Moonlight, with the clash of Knighthood and magic illuminating the entire port.
Carlotta felt her mouth dry, one hand tightly gripping the Rose Cross, the other unconsciously holding Alia, watching the scene nervously.
’Calm down, I must calm down. Alia is already doing her best to help . I need to escape imdiately. First, I must drive them off the Moonlight.’
Carlotta thought.
As for using the Moonlight to eliminate these people, it was undoubtedly impossible. Alistair and the others were of high rank and had formidable abilities. The Moonlight alone was no match for them.
Her gaze first fell on Grand and the investigation team.

Carlotta said sternly.

Alia’s gaze shifted and she whispered, "It’s the rest of our family. Why are they here too?"
Carlotta looked at them, finding so familiar faces. She then rembered seeing them when she followed Alia to the Agate Cetery, though not deeply.
She then thought of the intelligence, which said that after Leonard Fenwick learned that his daughter was with her, he was uneasy and sent mbers of the Fenwick family over. It must be them.
"What’s going on here?"
The newly arrived Fenwick family mbers were led by a middle-aged man nad Louis Fenwick. He scanned the scene and frowned.
Julia quickly said, "Miss Alia has been taken hostage. These mbers of the Carlisle family, disregarding the young lady’s safety, are trying to force their way in. This could harm the young lady. We must stop them."
Louis was startled and looked at Alia, who gave a slight nod. Though not fully understanding the situation, he quickly led his people to block the Carlisle family mbers.
This scene made Alistair’s face turn even uglier.
"Are all of you Fenwick family mbers insane? Carlotta White is soone the Emperor has ordered to be dealt with. Are you still protecting her?"
"What are you talking about? We are protecting Miss Alia. No matter what, Miss Alia’s safety cos first."
Louis said indifferently.
With the Fenwick family mbers joining, a fierce attack forced the Carlisle family mbers to retreat from the Moonlight.
When all outsiders left the Moonlight, Carlotta imdiately steered the alchemy ship towards the depths of the ocean.
"Is this really okay?"
As if talking to herself, Carlotta murmured softly.
Her heart was beating so fast, and she never expected that the extrely dangerous situation she was in could be resolved in this way.

He had promised Achilles that he would bring back Carlotta’s head. If he couldn’t do this, how would he face the wrath of Achilles? That was soone he couldn’t possibly face.
Grand walked over, frowning, "Carlotta took off in an alchemy ship. Ordinary boats can’t catch up to an alchemy ship, and where would we suddenly get another alchemy ship?"
Alistair took a deep breath, "Then all those who can fly, follow to chase Carlotta. We must not let this girl escape."
With that, he took to the air, and a few others from the Carlisle Family also flew up.
