Will the plan succeed?
In the Dawn Opera House, singers stood on the stage, accompanied by the sound of instrunts, telling a story through song.
The lodious voices and captivating content deeply attracted the thousands of audience mbers present.
Carlotta sat in the front row, with the best viewing position, but she was sowhat absent-minded, unsure if her arrangents would be effective.
Before her transmigration, she was just an ordinary citizen, not a professional like a spy or agent.
After transmigrating, she was still just a rchant’s daughter, with no exposure to intricate sches and plots.
Many of her actions were based purely on intuition, and she wasn’t entirely sure if that was the best approach.
"What’s wrong? Do you have sothing on your mind?" Alia’s voice ca over.
Carlotta snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head: "Nothing, I was just thinking about future developnts."
She couldn’t tell Alia about the things she was facing, as she couldn’t explain how she knew that Soren had hired the Sunset Rose assassins to kill her.
Alia thought for a mont and said, "You have a lot of talent in the Elven Knight Path. Although your future is uncertain because you can’t major in it, I’ve never seen soone with such outstanding talent as you. Perhaps you can create a miracle and break so conventional norms."
Carlotta was both amused and exasperated. She had never worried about this aspect, but it was a good excuse for her distraction.
As they watched the opera and chatted, Carlotta gradually relaxed.
She didn’t need to be too nervous, after all, she was soone with a cheat. Those without cheats weren’t nervous, so why should she, with a cheat, be worried?
After relaxing, a sweet smile appeared on Carlotta’s face, and she was able to focus on the opera.
Although she had been exposed to the technological world in her previous life, making this so-called opera seem quite ordinary to her, watching opera was still one of the more outstanding forms of entertainnt in this world. Living in this world, Carlotta had to integrate into it.
Unknowingly, night fell over the imperial capital.
As the moonlight spilled down, the performance by Lucy Stuart ca to an end.
Of course, after this renowned singer, there would be more perforrs, and the Dawn Opera House would remain lively until very late.
However, after Lucy’s performance, Alia planned to leave.
"Miss White, are you going to keep watching?"
"No, it’s getting late. I should head back to the academy. Let’s go back together."
Carlotta imdiately stood up.
Now, outside the academy, without Alia by her side, she felt completely unsafe.
She even felt that just walking beside Alia wasn’t safe enough. If only she could hold Alia’s hand... well, that would feel even safer.
But even though they were both girls, such a request obviously couldn’t be made casually. It would be sowhat presumptuous.
So the two walked side by side, leaving the Dawn Opera House together.
The way back was illuminated by alchemical street lamps, so it wasn’t dark.
Instead, various lights dotted the city, making the imperial capital look like an inverted galaxy, brilliant and rich.
Nothing happened on the way back to the academy. The Sunset Rose assassins might not have started their operation yet, or they might have seen Alia and hesitated, or perhaps they were busy with other matters due to Carlotta’s report.
In any case, returning to the academy made Carlotta feel a bit more at ease.
After bidding farewell to Alia, Carlotta returned to her dorm. As for dinner, they had already taken care of it at the opera house.
Back in her dorm, Carlotta continued to train diligently. Even as the night deepened and she felt sleepy, she didn’t go to bed.
Today, she planned to stay up until midnight to check the information first.
She couldn’t help but worry about the Sunset Rose situation.
Fortunately, training while waiting didn’t feel boring, and it seed like in the blink of an eye, midnight arrived.
When Carlotta noticed the ti, it was already three minutes past midnight. She imdiately summoned the information panel to check.
[ 1: Rumors about Carlotta White and Alia Fenwick being in a relationship have been widely spread within the academy.]
Carlotta was stunned, her face showing a subtle expression.
She was in a relationship with Alia? How co she didn’t know about it?
But why would such a thing spread widely? Did Calla spread it?
Carlotta had no idea what it ant to others that she had been spending so much ti alone with Alia recently.
Since it didn’t match the facts, Carlotta didn’t dwell on it and continued to the next piece of information.
[ 2: Lucy Stuart is sowhat tired of opera performances. Because audiences often focus on her private life, trying every ans to find her, she has almost no privacy and dares not do anything bold. She is already planning to retire.]
Carlotta’s expression was subtle. She didn’t expect information about Lucy, the renowned singer, to appear just because she had watched her performance today.
The singer was at the peak of her career, and anyone would think Lucy would continue to thrive in this industry. Who would have thought she was already considering retirent?
But being so famous that you have no privacy is indeed quite troubling.
[ 3: Carlotta White secretly reported the Sunset Rose’s base. After gathering enough forces, the security bureau raided the base, capturing a large number of assassins. Now, the security bureau is very excited, as they have achieved great rit thanks to this anonymous tip. anwhile, Sunset Rose is in trouble. They only had this one base in the imperial capital Kestholm, and with it destroyed, they couldn’t continue their operations. All assassin activities have been forced to halt.]
Carlotta smiled.
She was very pleased with this news. Her secret report seed to have had a very good effect.
"Finally, I can sleep peacefully."
Carlotta stretched, but she wouldn’t let her guard down completely. After all, no one knew when Sunset Rose would recover. She still needed to be cautious in daily life, just not as tense as before.
There are four pieces of intelligence today.
Carlotta’s gaze fell on the last piece of intelligence.
[ 4: Soren Carlisle went to the Warrior Shooting Club again for shooting practice. Although Victoria Academy also has shooting ranges, Soren has beco accustod to training at the Warrior Shooting Club and is a regular there. The Tulip Shooting Range, in particular, has been booked by her for the entire year.]
A hint of amusent appeared in Carlotta’s eyes as she began to ponder how this piece of intelligence could be of use to her.
Soren’s path is the Hunting Magic Path, so it’s not surprising that she would go to a shooting range for practice. Perhaps she should visit this Warrior Shooting Club to check things out?
Carlotta’s patience with Soren had reached its limit. Even though Soren had left Caerwyn Academy, she still managed to cause trouble for Carlotta from afar.
The trouble brought by Bernard was already annoying enough, and now Soren had even placed a hit on her through the Sunset Rose assassin organization. This was enough for Carlotta to go to any lengths to eliminate Soren.
"Warrior Shooting Club... I haven’t heard of it. I’ll have to ask around tomorrow."
The night was already deep.
Carlotta didn’t dwell on it for too long. She turned off the light, took off her outer clothes, and lay down on the bed, falling into a deep sleep.
...
The next day.
During a break in the morning class, Carlotta pretended to casually chat with Avery, asking about the interesting clubs in the capital.
As soone who was extrely well-inford, Avery was naturally able to list a variety of clubs.
In the capital, there were indeed many clubs of all kinds, pet clubs, wine clubs, book clubs, horseback riding clubs, and so on, ranging from large to small. Naturally, there were also shooting clubs.
The na "Warrior Shooting Club" was also ntioned by Avery. Carlotta then subtly steered the conversation in that direction, gaining a rough understanding of the club’s surface-level information and its location.
When the morning classes ended, Carlotta took advantage of the long lunch break to leave the school.
She bought bread and milk from a shop outside and, while eating, made her way to Cross District, a neighborhood located between Fors District and Spice District.
The headquarters of the Watson Chamber of Comrce, one of the six major chambers, and Elizabeth Academy, one of the four major magic academies, were both located in this district.
Shortly after entering Cross District, Carlotta saw the Warrior Shooting Club, a six- or seven-story building with pointed arches.
After throwing the finished bread and milk bottle into a trash can, Carlotta began to wander around the club.
This club was mbership-based, and generally, only mbers could engage in activities there. However, non-mbers could also have a one-ti experience to get a feel for the club.
Carlotta chose not to go in for the experience. She didn’t want to leave any trace that Carlotta White had visited the Warrior Shooting Club.
She only wandered around, observing from a distance.
...
anwhile,
At Caerwyn Academy, Alia caught up with Calla in the cafeteria and sat at the sa table.
Calla looked at Alia with a mix of surprise and flattery, unable to resist asking, "Sister Alia, did you need sothing from ?"
Alia had never been willing to share a table with her before, but today she had taken the initiative to join her. This made Calla keenly sense that sothing was off.
Alia rubbed her temples, seemingly a bit exasperated, and said, "Recently, there seems to be a rumor spreading around the academy that I’m dating Miss White. Did you start this rumor?"
The gossip had already spread quite widely, and Alia couldn’t possibly be unaware of it.
Upon hearing this, Calla readily admitted, "Yes, I did spread it."
Alia was both amused and annoyed, "Why would you spread such a thing?"
Calla didn’t feel she had done anything wrong at all. Instead, she spoke as if she had done sothing praiseworthy, "I did it for you, Sister Alia. Once people know you’re already in a relationship, those who have ideas on you won’t dare to interfere."
Her current perspective was completely different from before. She now thought Carlotta and Alia were quite a good match and wanted to protect their relationship.
To put it in terms from Carlotta’s previous life, Calla was essentially "shipping" them.
Seeing Calla’s expression, Alia couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on. She tried to explain, "Calla, stop spreading false information. Miss White and I are not in the kind of relationship you think we are. You’ve misunderstood us. If you keep spreading these rumors, it will cause trouble for Miss White."
Calla looked deeply at Alia, "I understand."
She didn’t believe for a second that Alia and Carlotta weren’t dating.
Alia’s last sentence, in particular, made her heart stir, thinking she had guessed Alia’s true thoughts.
She believed that Alia was likely under pressure from her family and thus couldn’t make their relationship public.
After all, Alia was a noblewoman. Although the Wendell Empire was quite open-minded about sexual orientation, if Alia were to be with Carlotta, it would still be considered unconventional. It was unlikely that Viscount Fenwick would approve.
Therefore, to protect Carlotta, so things couldn’t be said openly and needed to be approached gradually.
This made Calla sigh inwardly, feeling that Carlotta still had a long way to go before she could truly be with Alia.
And she would be there to witness this inevitably bumpy and tumultuous journey.
Alia had no idea that Calla, while appearing to understand, actually harbored such thoughts.
She thought Calla had realized it was a misunderstanding and, with her lunch in hand, moved to another table to eat alone.
By the way, why hadn’t Miss White co to the cafeteria for lunch today?
...
By the ti Carlotta returned, the afternoon classes were about to start. She hurriedly made her way to the Card Magic Class 2, managing to sit down in her seat just before the bell rang.
During the afternoon classes, Carlotta kept thinking about how to eliminate Soren once and for all and whether the Warrior Shooting Club could be of use.
As peers, the others didn’t share her worries. During breaks, they were all discussing the upcoming Rose Festival, and the atmosphere was quite lively.
Tomorrow was the Rose Festival.
Carlotta, having transmigrated, had experienced a few festivals, but compared to those, the Rose Festival, a holiday associated with love and romance, was more significant. Even before it arrived, everyone couldn’t help but bring it up.
"On the Rose Festival, you must give a rose to your beloved. Miss White, let tell you about so florists with high-quality roses," Avery said, approaching Carlotta during the break.
