Mrs. Smith was over 70 years old this year, still strong and looking as if she had just passed fifty. She was standing elegantly on the President’s Podium, waiting with a proper smile for the applause to end, then continued speaking through the upright microphone in front of her: “As everyone knows, the Annual Celebration of Smith Corporation is when we sign or renew contracts with our business partners on the spot. Therefore, I declare the signing ceremony begins now-”
Another round of applause followed.
Mrs. Smith stepped down from the President’s Podium amid these applause.
Sebastian Smith with his wife Carla Osbert and daughter Evelyn Osbert then went up on the President’s Podium.
Sebastian Smith, dressed in a black suit and looking immaculate, stood in the center of the President’s Podium, holding a microphone and said with a righteous tone: “Friends present, you all know that Smith Corporation encountered so problems recently. After finishing his speech, Sebastian deliberately paused, and a round of applause rose from the audience. Carla and Evelyn, hand in hand, stood there with proper smiles on their faces, raising their hands to clap along.
