Chapter 862: Chapter 10 For Those Who Fell Before Victory
When Henry arrived in front of the building, a soldier of the People’s Army who had entered the building first leaned out from the third floor: “Safe! All enemies have surrendered!”
Henry: “Search for the City Defense Map, or sothing similar, those ticulous Prosens must have this thing. Bring the highest-ranking prisoner here, I’ll interrogate him personally!”
Soon, a Prosen Master Sergeant was brought before Henry.
Henry directly punched him in the face: “Bastard! This is a civilian residence, who allowed you to set up a base here? Doesn’t the Prosen military manual teach you to set up bases inside sturdy concrete structures like banks, governnt buildings, big theaters, and post offices?”
In this era, indeed, only these buildings would have reinforced concrete structures, ordinary residential houses were either made of brick and wood, or simply wood.
The Master Sergeant glanced at Henry’s uniform and burst out laughing: “lanians! Go to Glory Square! Go take a look at Glory Square!”
Henry instinctively felt sothing was off and punched the Prosen man again.
The Prosen spat out a knocked-out tooth, yet continued to laugh loudly.
Henry had no choice but to knock him down with the butt of his gun, then asked a local elder who ca in: “He ntioned Glory Square, what’s the deal?”
The elder’s mouth twitched: “The day before yesterday, they announced they were vaccinating the town’s children, gathered all the kids at Glory Square, and then none of the children ca back.”
“Adults who went to check on Glory Square didn’t co back either, and the whole day there was machine gun fire coming from that direction.”
Henry grabbed the elder’s shoulders: “So what happened?”
The elder’s body sagged as if strength was drawn out of him, shaking with Henry’s movents: “No, I don’t know. I hid my grandson in the basent, and many families also hid their children. They said there would be a search today, then you guys ca.”
Henry took out a map issued before the combat operation from his pocket: “Tell how to get to Glory Square.”
These maps were drawn based on aerial reconnaissance photos, quite inaccurate, but the location of a notable landmark like a “square” wouldn’t be wrong.
The elder pointed at the map with a trembling finger: “Here.”
Henry put away the map, about to leave the base, when people searching the second floor ca down holding the City Defense Map: “City Defense Map! The Prosens even marked all the minefields!”
“Let see!” Henry grabbed the map, quickly pinpointed the position of Glory Square, then rushed out of the base.
Revenge for the Heroic Brother had just arrived and stopped, Podoliskov, the tank commander, asked: “What’s wrong? You seem so serious?”
Henry stuffed the map in his hands: “Go to this Glory Square!”
Podoliskov: “I don’t understand Prosenese, nor the markings in lania Language on this, which one is Glory Square?”
“Here! We are here, just follow this road! Also, the top of the map is north.”
Podoliskov: “I do know that north is at the top. I studied military cartography, brother.”
After saying this, he issued the command, the tank started up again, moving along the highway.
Soldiers of the lania People’s Army ford two columns, marching behind the tank.
Podoliskov: “I don’t know what happened, but… please believe that we feel the sa way you do; what the Prosens did to your holand, they also did in ours.”
Henry was about to reply when suddenly a couple in their fifties burst from the side of the road, the older man holding back the lady from rushing onto the street.
The lady shouted: “Kill them all! Gentlen from Ante, please kill them all!”
Shouting this, the lady collapsed onto the ground and began to cry loudly.
Podoliskov: “I don’t understand what they’re saying, but it must be sothing terrible.”
Finally, Henry could see the open area ahead, he slled a familiar stench of burning.
Podoliskov: “Sukabule, that’s the sll of incompletely burned bodies. Sukabule!”
The tank moved into the square.
What t their eyes was a central bonfire that had burned all night, with charred bodies hanging around on the lampposts.
The Prosen had tricked the town’s children to the square.
The adults who figured out their intent fought desperately, and now, what was before Henry was the grim outco of it all.
Podoliskov: “Why? They’re about to lose, why do this?”

“As long as we make it appear as if we’re going to massacre the children, the Resistance Organization would be compelled to co out and stop us.”
In the lania Occupation Army Headquarters, the Great Commander of the Asgard Knights said so to General Hawk of the Occupation Army Headquarters.
“This way, we can efficiently wipe out all resistance organizations inside lania, preventing them from coordinating with Ante’s attacking forces.”
General Hawk: “I’m against this plan!”
The Great Commander, holding his head high: “What, now acting like a noble knight, a pure warrior? You guys did such things back in the day too, even before the Asgard Knights was a thing during the occupation of lania.”
General Hawk: “I’m aware, back then I also turned a blind eye to the soldier’s actions, even if it ans being judged for this, I have no complaints. But this is too much, only soone who sold their soul to the goat Demon would do such a thing!”
The Great Commander laughed: “So you should thank more, after the war ends, you can pin all the evils on the Asgard Knights. For now, as we both know, it’s the best way to eliminate the resistance.”
