In the living room of the Kasugano residence, everyone sat gathered around the spacious sofa.
Kasugano Sora, radiating a palpable aura of dark energy, stared at Haru, who sat across from her on the sofa, holding a small goddess in his lap.
"Brother, has your burning ambition grown so much that humans can no longer satisfy you?"
"Well, that's surprisingly difficult to refute," Haru said, awkwardly scratching his head.
Hearing his usual shaless remark, Sora sighed. After three years, she had sowhat gotten used to Haru's shalessness. "At least be a little more discreet. You were right by the front door, out in the open."
"Why would you do such a thing with Haru, Athena?" Erica asked, looking at Athena with confusion. It was strange. When a Godslayer and a god t, battle and bloodshed were the expected outco. Yet, why had these two ended up in this situation?
"Oh? Who are you?" Athena turned her head, seemingly just noticing Erica and Liliana.
"Tsk! Allow to reintroduce myself. I'm Erica Blandelli, knight of Haru and a mber of the Copper Black Cross," Erica said with a friendly smile, betraying no anger at being ignored. This was understandable. Gods were aware of the existence of magicians as a collective, but they regarded individual magicians as insignificant as weeds on the roadside, perhaps even less.
"This child's companion?" Athena raised her hand, still nestled in Haru's lap, and caressed his cheek. If one had to describe it, she looked like a mother doting on her child.
"Uh..." Erica, Liliana, and Sora exchanged glances. What was with this scary motherly love?
"Why do you keep calling Haru 'child'? It's a strange way to address him," Sora asked, her eyes fixed on Athena's, her face filled with intense curiosity.
"Hmm? And who are you? That aura and similar bloodline... Are you this child's companion too?" Athena's dark eyes glead with an otherworldly light, piercing through Sora's facade.
Sora shuddered under Athena's gaze, a chill running down her spine.
"Hey! Just call Haru. Don't use 'child'," Haru said, lightly tapping Athena's head, interrupting the Earth Mother's stare.
"Haru is my child," Athena said calmly, her words shocking everyone present.
"What?! x4"
Haru's composure crumbled. He had initially assud that the Earth Mother goddesses called him "child" because of his connection to the earth's energy. But now, with Athena speaking as if she were his biological mother, he couldn't remain calm.
"What's going on with you Earth Mother goddesses? Pandora calling 'child' was one thing, but now you too?"
"Haru is your child? Then what am I?" Sora asked, her face a mask of shock. If her brother, whom she had lived with for nearly twenty years, had a goddess for a mother, then whose child was she?
The sheer amount of information in their exchange left Erica and Liliana dumbfounded. It was a rare sight indeed - the shrewd, golden-haired knight and the resolute, silver-haired knight, both looking utterly bewildered.
Liliana cautiously addressed Athena. As a descendant of European divine ancestors, the Earth Goddess could be considered the origin of her bloodline. Thus, Athena's divine aura was particularly potent for her.
"The birth records and other information about the Godslayer are public knowledge in the magical world. The identity of his mother has also been confird. So, why are you so certain?"
"Haru has received the blood of myself and other Earth Mothers. Therefore, he is our child, our flesh and blood. It is a mark etched into his soul and bloodline," Athena explained, her voice indifferent.
"Oh, so he's a divine child who received the blood of a god," everyone said, relieved.
"No, it's not just that. I can sense the presence of Gaia, Tsukuyomi, and many other Earth Mothers, both known and unknown to . You are the child created by all of us Earth Mothers, aren't you?" Before Haru could refute, Athena continued.
"It must be because of your constitution. I sensed it during our earlier intimate contact. Your body has an extre affinity with the earth, allowing you to contain the power of us Earth Mothers and inherit our authority. That's why so many Earth Mother goddesses have taken a liking to you, rging their blood with your bloodline."
Haru understood Athena's aning. As the egg had surmised, his body was suited to the rules of the earth. Therefore, after battling gods, the rules instilled in his soul by the egg were all earth-related. Combined with the baptism of the original Earth Mother Goddess, Gaia's blood, his aura resembled that of a direct descendant of all Earth Mothers, just as Athena had said.
"So, it's like the relationship between a dragon and the Earth Mother!" Liliana exclaid, her eyes widening as she scanned Haru's body, as if trying to find so symbol of a dragon on him.
Dragons referred to the dragon-like beings ford from the essence of the Earth Veins - the Eastern wingless dragons, the Western winged dragons, and other divine beasts born from the earth's origin. Because the Earth Mother represented the earth's consciousness of a region, dragons could essentially be considered the Earth Mother's children.
"It's even closer than that. You can consider him a male version of the Earth Mother," Athena declared, putting an end to the discussion.
"This is crazy. So, it wasn't a dream. The Strongest Godslayer is actually an Earth God. This joke isn't funny at all." Erica patted Liliana's cheek, causing her to yelp in pain.
"Erica, let's duel! How dare you treat a maiden's face like that? I challenge you to a duel!"
Sora took a deep breath. It's fine. My brother is still my brother, just with a lot of adoptive mothers. It's not a big deal.
"Well then, shall we continue what we were doing?" Athena said, a sly smile playing on her lips.
Everyone looked at Athena as she slowly pulled out a badge, a badge bearing the image of dusa's head.
She began to chant, her voice weaving words of power, like a song, a prayer, and a hymn of praise.
"I sing the song of the three-in-one goddess, connecting the sky, the earth, and the darkness, the cycle of reincarnation and wisdom."
Athena's form began to change.
"I sing the song of the demoted goddess, the sigh of the vanquished ancient serpent and the queen who conquered it."
As if washed by the passage of ti, the adorable girl began to grow.
"My na is Athena. Daughter of Zeus, protector of Athens, the eternal virgin."
The young, angelic face transford.
"Although I was once the Earth Mother who nurtured life, the ruler of the dark underworld, and the wise queen of the heavens, I swear, Athena will no longer be the Athena of old!"
She now looked around seventeen or eighteen years old. Her modern clothes had changed into an ancient Greek white robe. An olive branch wreath adorned her head. Her eyes, dark as night yet incredibly bright, t Haru's gaze. In that instant, he understood why Athena was called the bright-eyed maiden.
Crucially, Athena had been in Haru's lap. As she grew, the sensation in his hands made him blurt out, "No bra?"
Ancient Greek won only wore white robes, commando style. Those ancients sure knew how to live.
Athena turned, wrapped her arms around Haru's neck, and whispered, "Beco the King of Gods, Haru."
