The massive motorcade slowly approached the main gate, halting fifty ters away.

Chad, in the front passenger seat of the Lincoln, lifted his right hand. Magic power flowed into the ring on his ring finger, and an invisible ripple spread outwards.

Sensing the ripple, Lorelei’s gaze sharpened. She took a deep breath, cald herself, and then ordered, "It’s Chad. Open the barrier!"

At her command, several Canticle mbers behind her began to chant softly.

Words imbued with magic power filled the air.

The magical barrier, which enveloped the entire Clock Tower like a protective do, shimred and then parted, creating an opening large enough for the motorcade to pass through.

"Oh?? The Clock Tower’s defensive barrier is pretty impressive. Who set it up?" Haru asked, his eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the large-scale barrier, almost perfectly integrated with the Ley Lines. He chuckled softly.

Chad gestured for the driver to proceed, then turned his head, his expression calm, and spoke respectfully to Haru in the back seat through the partition.

"Your Excellency, the initial frawork for the Clock Tower’s defensive barrier was established by the Director. The current warning systems were added and modified by subsequent Lords."

"No wonder. If it was that old fossil who’s been around for two thousand years, manipulating Ley Lines to this extent wouldn’t be surprising," Haru murmured, examining the barrier’s composition with interest.

The vehicle glided to a halt.

Chad quickly exited and opened the rear passenger door.

anwhile, Haru turned to Arcueid, who was leaning against the seat, her face serene in sleep. He gently patted her pale thigh and chuckled. "Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead."

Arcueid’s brow furrowed slightly. She struggled to open her eyes, her voice drowsy. "...Are we there yet?"

"We’re here. Let’s get out." Haru stepped out of the car first, then extended a hand to Arcueid with a smile.

Watching the figure before her, hand-in-hand with Arcueid, walk slowly towards her, a flicker of anger crossed Lorelei’s eyes. She then composed herself, raised her hand, and adopted a posture ready for a handshake.

Haru, a smile on his face, released Arcueid’s hand. Before Lorelei could react, he spread his arms and lunged forward, enveloping her in an extrely enthusiastic bear hug.

The sudden embrace left Lorelei stunned. Then, as his hands began to wander, her beautiful face instantly turned ashen.

Gasps of surprise erupted from behind Lorelei.

The Mage apprentices, who hadn’t dispersed, stared wide-eyed at the two figures locked in a passionate embrace.

"Whoa, whoa, am I seeing things? Did that big shot, whoever he is, just hug the Ice Queen?"

"That’s not the point! Look, that poker-faced woman isn’t even resisting! She just let him hug her!"

"You idiot, the point is that guy’s hands! He’s copping a feel! They’re on her ass!"

Mage apprentices from all over the world stared in shock at the large hands roaming Lorelei’s body. Then, one of them spoke, his voice uncertain. "Could it be... all that recent gossip about Bartholoi... is actually true?"

Hiss—!

A collective intake of breath. Then, in hushed, excited tones, they all whispered, "A True Magic User!!!"

They had every reason to be excited...

There were at least a million Magic users worldwide, probably closer to ten million if you counted apprentices.

Yet, how many had reached the Root and beco True Magic Users?

Only five!

And two of them had vanished a thousand years ago, their fates unknown.

Only three still walked the world.

Countless Mages, entire magical lineages even, went their whole lives without ever encountering a True Magic User. And now, a living legend, the pinnacle of human achievent, stood before their very eyes.

This was a story they could brag about for the rest of their lives.

Nearly all the female apprentices stared at Haru with feverish intensity, practically devouring him with their eyes. According to the tabloids, this was the True Magic User whose bloodline even the Bartholoi family was willing to tarnish its own reputation to obtain.

If they could secure his bloodline, their families could ascend to nobility within a few short years.

Dazzlingly beautiful young Mages cast coquettish glances Haru’s way, but his attention was entirely focused on the bristling noblewoman in his arms.

"...How long do you intend to keep this up?" Lorelei’s eyebrow twitched, a strained smile on her face.

Haru shrugged, releasing his hold. His right hand, however, snaked around Lorelei’s slender waist.

"First ti here," He said, his voice teasing. "Perhaps ’Miss’ Bartholoi would be so kind as to give a tour of the Clock Tower?"

Hearing the emphasis on ’Miss,’ Lorelei’s pupils constricted. She almost exploded in a murderous rage.

After a long mont, Lorelei, suppressing the urge to kill him, pushed Haru’s hand away and gritted out, "Follow !"

Without waiting for a response, she turned and, teetering unsteadily on her unfamiliar high heels, began to walk in small, awkward steps.

A smirk played on Haru’s lips. He reached out and took Arcueid’s hand—who was curiously observing the Clock Tower’s academic buildings—and chuckled. "Co on, Arcueid! Let’s follow Miss Tour Guide."

Lorelei’s steps faltered for a mont, then she quickened her pace.

"The Clock Tower consists of over forty dormitories built on Ley Lines and a hundred academic buildings. Generally, every eight academic buildings form a faculty."

"The eight buildings directly ahead belong to the Solonea family’s Departnt of Individual Fundantals (II). To the right is—"

Ignoring the bewildered stares of passing Mages, Lorelei allowed Haru to hold her hand, enduring his gaze sweeping over her body as she spoke, her voice icy.

Haru stopped, turning slightly to look at the iconic clock tower in the distance. "And that tower in the center, the one overlooking the entire campus?"

Lorelei’s voice hitched for a mont, then she continued, a hint of pride in her tone, "That is the Clock Tower’s oldest classroom. The Bureau of Esoteric Decrees, responsible for issuing Sealing Designations, and my Bartholoi family’s Faculty of Law are also located there."

"Oh! Is that so!" Haru responded, his tone utterly indifferent.

Hearing his nonchalant reply, Lorelei’s face stiffened, then quickly returned to its icy composure.

Just as Lorelei, her face cold, was about to pull Haru along, Arcueid clutched her stomach, pouted, and whined adorably.

"Hey, hey, Haru. Isn’t it lunchti yet?"
