As Yuin lay asleep, the faint creak of the window didn’t rouse him. Isaac slipped in through the window, landing softly on the carpet. Luri followed right after, but not without a small misstep, and she ended up elbowing Isaac in the ribs.

"Careful," Isaac whispered, rubbing his side with a smirk. "Bad habits are contagious. You hanging around is proof."

Luri rolled her eyes. "Please, if anyone here’s corrupting the other, it’s you. I was born with good genes, thank you very much."

Isaac smirked. "Then it seems you inherited so faulty ones, considering you snuck in through the window."

"Faulty? More like adaptable," she retorted. "If you’re going to make part of your plans, I’m bringing style."

Before they could continue their bickering, a groggy voice interrupted them. "What the—" Yuin, now wide awake, shot up in his bed, staring at them with a mixture of horror and disbelief. "What are you two doing in my room?!"

"Shhh!" Isaac and Luri both moved quickly, each putting a hand over Yuin’s mouth.

Yuin, eyes wide, looked from one to the other. He tried to pull away, but Isaac gave him a pointed look.

"Keep it down!" Isaac hissed. "Unless you want everyone to find us here."

Yuin finally managed to pull their hands away, glaring. "Everyone? How about you explain why you’re in my room, uninvited? And through the window, no less?"

Isaac looked nonchalant. "It was the fastest route."

Luri sighed, crossing her arms. "Believe , I didn’t want to sneak in here, but I’m apparently a ’partner in cri’ tonight."

Yuin huffed, looking at her in disbelief. "Oh, so you’re the victim here? I’m the one who just woke up to this horror show!"

Luri snorted. "Trust , I’d rather be sleeping than dealing with him," she said, gesturing to Isaac.

Isaac shot her a mock frown. "If you’re both done with the dramatics, I need your help, Yuin."

"Help? With what?" Yuin muttered, still slightly annoyed. "And it better be good, considering you’re risking my sanity by showing up like this."

Before Isaac could answer, a knock at the door froze all three of them. "Yuin?" ca Diana’s voice, muffled but concerned. "Are you alright? I thought I heard sothing."

Yuin’s eyes widened, and he scrambled to respond. "Uh, yeah! Just... just had a nightmare. Nothing to worry about!"

There was a pause before Diana replied, "Alright, just checking. Try to sleep, okay?"

They waited until her footsteps faded, and Yuin let out a long sigh, glaring at Isaac and Luri. "Now, will you please tell why you’re here?"

Isaac looked a bit more serious, reaching into his bag. "I wanted to show you sothing. I need your opinion on it."

Yuin took the docunts Isaac handed him, flipping through the pages with a puzzled expression. "Wait... who do these reports belong to? You’re not supposed to be snooping in soone’s dical files."

"Just look at the information, Yuin. Forget whose file it is," Isaac pressed.

As he read, Yuin’s face grew tense. He frowned, focusing on the brain scan, the notes about neurological edits, and the mory alterations. "Soone ssed with the brain’s most sensitive areas. They even tampered with core mories..." He looked up at Isaac, bewildered. "This is... this is forbidden research. Where did you even get this?"

Isaac exchanged a glance with Luri before answering, "Let’s say I ca across it by accident. The point is, I need to know what can be done to help."

Yuin nodded, scanning through the details. "This type of interference isn’t a disease. It’s more like a... wound, I guess. These neurons have been tampered with, but the right kind of treatnt might let the brain ’heal’ itself."

Luri raised an eyebrow. "Wait, so it’s not like a virus or anything? It can’t just be ’cured’?"

Yuin shook his head. "No, this is an injury to the mind. It’s almost like bruising on a ntal level, which makes it incredibly complicated. And not exactly sothing I’m familiar with handling."

Isaac frowned. "What do you an?"

"I an... I’ve done a little work on the brain, but nothing like this." Yuin looked at them, a bit hesitant. "If you want soone who knows what they’re doing, I’d need to consult my Master. He’s an expert in the field."

Isaac’s eyebrows shot up. "You’ve got a Master? When can you talk to him?"

Yuin sighed. "He’s currently overseas. He’ll be back in a week, give or take."

"Is there anything we can do until then?" Isaac asked, his face tense.

Yuin shook his head. "Look, the best thing you can do is keep the person calm, away from stress or triggers. Right now, it’s like poking at a half-healed wound. We need to wait until my Master’s back, and he can help assess if there’s any chance of fixing this properly."

Luri glanced at Isaac, then back at Yuin. "And you’re sure he’ll be back in a week?"

Yuin gave a small nod. "He’s scheduled to return soon, but even he’ll need ti to examine all of this. It’s not like there’s a one-size-fits-all treatnt for sothing this complex."

Isaac crossed his arms, looking deep in thought. "What are the risks?"

Yuin glanced down at the reports again, his face serious. "Well, if untreated, the subject might experience mory issues, increased stress responses, and even split personalities... It’s like slowly tearing apart what’s left of their ntal stability."

Isaac nodded, determination clear in his eyes. "Then let’s wait for your Master, but please keep it quiet. I don’t want anyone else finding out about this."

Yuin nodded. "I’ll do what I can, but the mont my Master is back, we’re diving into this. I’ll need full cooperation."

Isaac looked relieved, nodding gratefully. "Understood. Thank you, Yuin."

A week went by in a flash.

In the bright, sterile room of the clinic, Ethan and Adrian sat across from Lucas, who was peering at Adrian’s dical report with a satisfied smile.

"Well, Adrian," Lucas said, looking up at the two of them, "the good news is that you’re healthier than ever. You’ve recovered completely, even better than our last checkup."

Adrian smiled in relief, giving Ethan a nudge. "See? Nothing to worry about."

Ethan let out a small sigh but couldn’t hide a slight smile. "You can’t bla for being cautious. I just want you to be in perfect health."

Adrian chuckled, leaning toward Ethan. "Overly cautious is more like it. Lucas, you should have seen him; he checked every little thing, even making sure I didn’t skip breakfast."

Lucas grinned, enjoying the lightheartedness between them. "Sounds like you’ve beco a full-ti babysitter, Ethan."

Ethan shrugged, unfazed. "If that’s what it takes to keep him safe, then so be it."

Adrian laughed, shaking his head. "Alright, well, thanks, Lucas. Can you tell him once more that I’m fine? He doesn’t believe it from ."

Lucas nodded, humor twinkling in his eyes. "Ethan, your husband is in top shape. Nothing is out of place, and he’s perfectly healthy. Feel free to let him breathe now."

Ethan chuckled, looking at Adrian fondly. "Fine, fine, I’ll try to worry less. But only if you promise to take it easy and keep eating well."

Adrian sighed dramatically. "You drive a hard bargain."

After bidding Lucas goodbye, they left the clinic and decided to go out for dinner. Sitting at a quiet restaurant, the two of them enjoyed a relaxing al together, savoring the normalcy.

Over dessert, Adrian looked at Ethan thoughtfully. "You know, I didn’t realize how much it mattered to that you’d be there for every step of the recovery. I felt safe, just knowing you were there."

Ethan reached across the table, giving Adrian’s hand a gentle squeeze. "It matters to too. You’re my whole world."

Later that night, when they finally returned ho, Adrian’s phone rang. The caller ID showed it was his father, Jesper. Adrian picked up the phone with a smile, putting it on speaker.

"Hello, Dad!" Adrian greeted warmly.

"Adrian!" Jesper’s voice bood through the phone, full of warmth. "It’s been ages. I was beginning to wonder if I’d ever hear from you again!"

Adrian chuckled, casting a quick look at Ethan. "Oh, co on, it hasn’t been that long! We’ve been busy, you know."

"Busy, huh?" Jesper sounded amused. "What about you, Ethan? Are you keeping my son from visiting his old man?"

Ethan laughed softly. "I’d never do that, sir. It’s just been a little hectic lately. We’re planning to co by soon."

"Good! Your father’s been asking about you two constantly," Jesper added with a chuckle. "He’s going to give an earful if you don’t co by soon."

Adrian grinned. "Then we’d better get over there before you’re in trouble."

"When are you planning to co?" Jesper asked, his voice tinged with hope.

Ethan exchanged a look with Adrian, who nodded. "How about next weekend, Dad? We’ll stay for a couple of days if that’s alright."

Jesper’s tone brightened imdiately. "That’s perfect! Your father will be thrilled. And so will I, of course."

"Make sure there’s plenty of room," Ethan added jokingly. "I know how you like to stack the guest rooms with everything under the sun."

"Oh, I’ll have everything set just right," Jesper said with a laugh. "You two are royalty around here, after all."

Adrian rolled his eyes playfully. "Oh please, Dad, we’re just family. You don’t have to spoil us."

"Not a chance," Jesper replied firmly. "If I’m not spoiling you, what’s the point of being a father?"

Ethan and Adrian shared a chuckle. "Alright, Dad, we’re looking forward to it. But don’t go overboard, okay?" Adrian said, shaking his head fondly.

"Too late!" Jesper quipped. "I’m already making a list of everything to stock up on. You’ll have a proper feast waiting for you."

Adrian sighed with a smile. "You’re spoiling too much."

Jesper chuckled warmly. "Only for you, son. Well, I’ll let you two get so rest. Just don’t keep waiting too long."

"Promise, Dad," Adrian replied, his tone affectionate. "We’ll be there soon."

"Goodnight, boys," Jesper said, his voice softening.

"Goodnight, Uncle," Ethan replied, as Adrian echoed, "Goodnight, Dad."

As the call ended, Adrian leaned back with a smile. "Looks like we’re in for quite the weekend."

Ethan nodded, slipping an arm around him. "Wouldn’t miss it for the world."
