"Stop running, lady. Have a little fun with us, and we won’t hurt you. How’s that for a deal?" a thug with a scarred face said, leering at Sumr Lancaster.
"Kenneth Yates! Save !" Sumr Lancaster scread with all her might. She was making a bet—betting he wouldn’t hang up, betting he was already on his way!
"This bitch. You really think soone’s going to save you just because you’re screaming?"
Kenneth Yates, who had been on the line with his headset the entire ti, heard Sumr Lancaster’s desperate cry loud and clear. He slamd his foot on the accelerator.
Kenneth Yates slamd his fist on the steering wheel. He wished he could just fly to Sumr Lancaster’s side. If he ever found out who was audacious enough to abduct her, he would make sure that person died without a grave.
"He will, and he’ll be here any minute!" A smile touched Sumr Lancaster’s lips. Her phone screen was still lit, proof that Kenneth Yates hadn’t hung up.
’Kenneth Yates, please hurry!’
"This one’s got so spunk. It’s just your bad luck for pissing off a big shot. So why not take us up on the offer and have a little fun with us?" The lead thug’s lust flared, and he decided to defy his client’s orders.
Sumr Lancaster imdiately crossed her arms over her chest, eyeing them warily.
"I... I’m telling you, I’m... Kenneth Yates’s wife! If you do anything to , he won’t spare you!" Sumr Lancaster stamred, but her words seed to lack any real threat.
The n burst out laughing as if she’d told a joke. "Kenneth Yates has plenty of won. I wonder what number you are!"
Sumr Lancaster silently cursed Kenneth Yates ten thousand tis. ’His na is useless when it counts! When I get back, I’m going to teach him a lesson!’
The n closed in on Sumr Lancaster. She spun around to run, but one of them grabbed her by the hair, holding her in place.
"Get a good look at her. She’s not half-bad, is she? Boys, looks like we’re in for a treat today!" the man said, patting Sumr Lancaster’s cheek. She spat right in his face.
’How disgusting. He should take a good look in the mirror!’
Humiliated and enraged, the thug threw Sumr Lancaster to the ground and started tearing at her clothes.
"Stop!" A tall man’s shadow stretched out long under the glow of the streetlight.
The thugs looked toward the man, but he was backlit, and they couldn’t make out his face.
"Another one with a death wish... huh?" The thug got to his feet and walked closer, finally getting a clear look at the man’s face.
’Kenneth Yates? The demon of Aeston, the man everyone fears? What’s he doing here? Could what that woman said actually be true?’
"Heh heh, President Yates. Just passing through? How about we go for a drink?" He didn’t ntion Sumr Lancaster, hoping Kenneth was just a passerby.
Without a word, Kenneth Yates sent the man flying with a single kick.
"Boss, are you okay?" The other thugs rushed to his side. Their leader had a few teeth knocked out and was bleeding from the corner of his mouth.
"Let’s get out of here!" the leader ordered without hesitation, wiping the blood from his mouth.
"But, boss..."
"No buts! Not unless you want to die," the leader snarled, his eyes fierce.
Hearing this, the thugs hastily helped their leader up and fled. Their client was nowhere near as powerful as Kenneth Yates. The money was no longer important; when you ran into Kenneth Yates, you were lucky to escape with your life. They never dread he would actually co all this way for that woman. If their client had explained the connection, they never would have taken the job in the first place.
