When Zane Fletcher arrived, he saw Sumr Lancaster sitting alone on the front steps, spacing out.
"Young Madam, the President sent to pick you up," Zane Fletcher said respectfully. ’Kenneth Yates must have already told him about our relationship.’
"Can you take ho first, and then go to the office?"
"Of course, Young Madam. Please get in. I’ll be your personal driver for the next few days." Sumr Lancaster got in the car, and they headed to Veridian Community.
"Fletcher, does Kenneth Yates treat you well?"
Zane Fletcher, who was driving, froze. He didn’t know what to say. ’What does she an by asking that?’
"He’s alright, I guess." ’In reality, Kenneth Yates works him to the bone. He often disappears right before important etings, leaving to clean up the ss. He even makes work overti outside of office hours—without any overti pay!’
"Oh! Last ti, his car was parked sowhere else and I suggested he have you pick him up. He said that Fletcher has his own life too."
"Yes, the President can be quite considerate sotis." ’Heh. What kind of excuses has the President been using for? I’ve ended up taking the heat for him for no reason at all.’
"I used to see you two together all the ti, and you’re both so handso... I admit, I had so wild ideas," Sumr Lancaster said with a laugh.
Zane Fletcher’s expression froze. ’If the President heard that, he’d probably throw both of us out.’
"Young Madam, that’s not a very funny joke," Zane Fletcher replied with a strained smile.
"Is that so? Heh."
「The Airport」
"Boss, it’s ti to board."
"Yeah, let’s go." As they were boarding, Kenneth Yates pulled out his identification, and only then did Dominic Thorne notice he was wearing a ring.
"Boss, are you planning to announce it to the world?"
"I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to get hurt."
"Boss, the truth is, just by being with you, she’s already in grave danger."
"Don’t worry. I’ll always be there to protect her." ’Dominic Thorne was right. He, Kenneth Yates, was a renowned figure in Euras, and he had more than a few enemies. Especially Noel Lynch. That man was dangerous, cunning, and utterly ruthless. Anything Kenneth Yates set his sights on, Noel would find a way to snatch away.’
It was the dead of night in Francelia by the ti they landed. Ronan Jenkins was waiting to pick them up, and they all headed back to the villa together.
"Ronan, isn’t Sean Murphy with you?" Dominic Thorne asked.
"I don’t know where he is," Ronan Jenkins replied, his face devoid of expression.
"Alright, I’ll give him a call in a bit and have him co over." Sean Murphy was the youngest of their group. He and Ronan Jenkins had known each other since they were children. Sean had always been playful, and Ronan had always been by his side, protecting him from bullies and forbidding him from dating anyone.
Over ti, Ronan Jenkins realized he’d been in love with Sean Murphy since they were kids. The fact that they were both boys troubled him for a while, but he eventually ca to terms with it. He decided it was enough to just stay by Sean’s side and protect him, burying his feelings deep down. Sean knew how Ronan had felt about him since childhood. He didn’t want to hurt Ronan, but he couldn’t return his feelings, either. They were both n; it wasn’t supposed to be that kind of relationship.
Dominic Thorne called Sean Murphy, and before long, Sean arrived at the villa to join them.
"Boss! Dominic! Long ti no see. You’re both looking more handso than ever." Sean Murphy moved in to hug them both, but Kenneth Yates deftly sidestepped him. As a result, Dominic and Sean ended up in a warm embrace.
"Alright, that’s enough. Just don’t follow it up with a French kiss," Dominic Thorne said, pushing him away with mock disgust.
"As if I’d kiss a man," Sean retorted. Nearby, Ronan Jenkins froze for a mont before composing himself. Kenneth Yates walked over to him. "Ronan," he said quietly, "one day, he’ll understand."
"I hope so."
