But her emotions were quickly reined in, and she said noncommittally with her head lowered:
"So what? It’s just a title."
Qiao Xu had a guilty look in her eyes and continued to stare at Lu Moqing’s injury, intentionally avoiding his burning, probing gaze.
"Just a title?"
Lu Moqing let out a soft chuckle and gently brushed away the strands of hair covering Qiao Xu’s forehead. His fingertips, covered in a thin layer of gauze, grazed her delicate skin, stirring a faint, ticklish sensation.
Qiao Xu’s body involuntarily shuddered, and she turned her face to the side, avoiding Lu Moqing’s touch.
"Then I’ll call you ’wife’ from now on. You won’t mind, right? After all, it’s just a title."
"You..."
Qiao Xu was left speechless by Lu Moqing’s words, her face flushed, as she couldn’t find a strong argunt to refute him.
She furrowed her brows, moved her lips several tis as if wanting to say sothing but held back, and continued to suture his wounds with a pretense of calm.
Lu Moqing watched the focused woman in front of him, his deep black eyes becoming even more profound. "Xuxu, they say that when people are at their most tense and unable to think clearly, that’s when their true thoughts are revealed."
His gaze gradually sharpened, "Xuxu, I know I still have a place in your heart."
At his words, Qiao Xu scoffed disdainfully. Her concentration remained on Lu Moqing’s injury as she retorted:
"What’s the point of dwelling on such matters after we’ve divorced? Don’t tell you’re seriously considering remarriage?"
Even though Qiao Xu sensed that the relationship between Lu Moqing and Su Rou might not be as it seed, it didn’t change the fact that their relationship had been terrible during their three years of marriage.
"I regretted it as soon as we divorced."
Lu Moqing didn’t deny or hide his thoughts. In fact, he had regretted it the mont he signed the papers.
Or perhaps even earlier – the night he used Su Rou as an excuse to kick her out of the Lu family, he had already regretted it.
He had decided to accept the fact that he couldn’t let her go completely.
If he could let go, why would he constantly gravitate towards her, thick-skinned, enduring her sarcastic and mocking remarks every ti, without leaving?
Once he understood this, he regretted signing the divorce agreent even more.
Fortunately, they still have a son, which gives him a chance to remain connected to her.
"Why?"
Qiao Xu finally looked at him, a hint of confusion in her dark eyes. "Is it because I wasted three years of your ti, or because I took the initiative to propose the divorce, leaving you feeling aggrieved?"
Every ti Qiao Xu said this, Lu Moqing felt like hitting soone.
Wasn’t she supposed to be smart and resourceful?
Why, when he was making it so obvious, did she still seem so clueless?
At this mont, Lu Moqing really wanted to go online and post a ssage—
What to do when your wife has a low EQ?
After taking a deep breath, Lu Moqing suppressed the urge to strangle Qiao Xu and said, "I still have lingering feelings for you."
He had ntioned this answer to Qiao Xu before, but she had never taken it to heart. Even now, when Lu Moqing said those words so seriously in front of her, she still didn’t believe him.
"Lingering feelings? Where did they co from? President Lu, if you’re going to sweet-talk, at least say sothing more plausible."
