“Dr. Qiao, the patient in bed 20 suddenly had a myocardial infarction, please go and check on him imdiately.”
“Alright.”
Lu Moqing was gazing at Qiao Xu, lost in thought, when a sudden frantic voice pulled his thoughts back.
Qiao Xu had already put away the dical record folder in front of her and ran quickly towards the front ward with the intern.
He stood there, not moving, and, ten minutes later, saw Qiao Xu coming out of the ward, exhaling a long breath with so sweat on her forehead.
Just looking at her like that, he felt a sense of unwarranted heartache.
Qiao Xu took the dical record folder out of the ward, looked at her watch, and saw that it was almost off-duty ti.
Out of habit, she would make one last round to her patients’ rooms before leaving work every day.
With her head bowed, she walked while flipping through the dical records in her hand, oblivious to the fact that there was another person right in front of her, and her head hit him squarely.
“I’m sorry… ”
She apologized while closing the dical record folder and raising her head. When she saw Lu Moqing, her face changed, but she quickly recovered her composure, her eyes returning to their usual calm.
“President Lu, what a coincidence, are you here to see your sister?”
Faced with her cold attitude, he couldn’t help but think back to how Qiao Xu was four years ago, always obedient in front of him. In comparison, Lu Moqing found her new deanor even more jarring.

Hearing her ntion “divorce” once again, the smile on Lu Moqing’s lips faded imdiately, replaced by a chilly expression.
In his opinion, her eagerness to divorce him was to be with that wild man. No way!
Lu Moqing’s face turned livid from the jealousy he refused to acknowledge, and anger flared in his eyes.
“President Lu, if you’re not here to discuss our divorce, don’t waste my ti at work. We have nothing else to talk about.”
She frowned impatiently, forcefully shaking off the hand that was gripping her arm too tightly, disgust in her eyes.
She turned and entered a nearby ward, deliberately prolonging her ti inside until she was sure Lu Moqing had left before coming out.
Taking a deep breath, repressing the subtle turbulence in her eyes when facing Lu Moqing, she headed to another ward.
She had to admit that even after four years, Lu Moqing could still easily affect her.
Dragging her feet, she finally steeled herself and entered the ward where Lu Xintong was staying. At that mont, Lu Xintong was on the phone.
“Xiao Rou, when are you coming to see ? You don’t know how bored I am in the hospital, co and keep company.”
Just as she arrived at the entrance of the ward, she heard Lu Xintong talking to Su Rou on the phone, and Qiao Xu’s eyebrows instinctively furrowed.
She used to think of Su Rou as Lu Moqing’s lover and had no ill will toward her, but after learning that Su Rou was Qiao Sheng’s illegitimate daughter, Qiao Xu resolved never to go easy on those who had hurt her mother.
