Chapter 23: 023. Does President Lu not want to let go?

Lu Moqing’s deep laughter sounded near Qiao Xu’s ear, causing her to roll her eyes involuntarily.

“When did President Lu develop this narcissistic problem? You should hurry over to our hospital to have a look. I’m quite close to the director of the psychiatry departnt, and I can get you a discount.”

Lu Moqing didn’t mind Qiao Xu’s blatant sarcasm at all, and his hand around her waist deliberately increased its strength.

“Co back ho with . I won’t hold the past four years against you.”

Lu Moqing’s deep voice continued to echo in her ear, but his words left Qiao Xu both confused and amused.

Was this guy really losing his mind?

He was the one who kicked her out of the Lu family four years ago, and now he constantly tells her to co back ho.

As she looked up at Lu Moqing’s deep black eyes that revealed no emotion, the corner of her mouth lifted in a sarcastic smile—

“Don’t tell , President Lu suddenly discovered that he can’t bear to part with after four years.”

She had intended to force Lu Moqing to let her go with these words, but instead, he stared at her for a few seconds, seemingly shocked by what she said, and didn’t refute her at all.

Taking advantage of this mont, Qiao Xu lifted her hand, accurately and forcefully elbowed Lu Moqing back. Caught off guard, he unconsciously let go of her waist.

In that instant, Qiao Xu quickly escaped from his arms, hurried into the car, and without any hesitation, stepped on the accelerator, quickly disappearing from Lu Moqing’s sight.

Fortunately, the car windows had dark tint, so Lu Moqing probably didn’t see Xiao Qiao Yi in the back.

Qiao Xu took a deep breath, comforting herself while gripping the steering wheel tightly, appearing completely unintentional.

Lu Moqing, covering the aching chest that Qiao Xu had struck, watched her car drive away, kicking up dust. After a while, he suddenly let out a soft laugh.

The driver standing nearby was even more dumbfounded, expecting President Lu to be furious, but instead… he laughed?

Could it be that President Lu was driven mad by Miss Qiao?

“Bring it here.”

As the driver stared in amazent at his boss’s rarely seen stunning smile, Lu Moqing suddenly pulled a serious face, and his long fingers spread out before him.

The driver stared blankly at Lu Moqing and cautiously asked, “President… President, what do you want?”

Seeing Lu Moqing’s impatient frown, he said in a deep voice, “Qiao Xu’s phone number!”

“Oh… yes.”

The driver dared not withhold any information and quickly handed over the piece of paper Qiao Xu had given him.

Lu Moqing looked at the series of numbers in his palm, followed by the words “Qiao Xu” written in the sa handwriting as on the divorce agreent. He slowly closed his hand and clenched it tightly.

Lu Moqing’s second visit to the First Hospital took place that evening. His exceptional appearance was always cold and detached, making people feel distant without reason.

Especially when he pursed his thin lips, maintaining a silence that seed to create an impenetrable barrier, keeping everyone who tried to approach him at bay.

When the elevator reached the floor of Xintong’s ward, he had only taken a few steps when he saw Qiao Xu, dressed in a white lab coat, standing against the corridor wall.

A stethoscope hung around her neck, her shoulder-length hair was tied up into a simple bun, and her delicate face was free of makeup, making her look very capable.

Even though she looked completely different from the woman in his mory, he couldn’t help but overlap the woman before him with the face he rembered.
