Downstairs, a small yacht was docked, probably Bai Yu’s personal property.
If she could find a way down from the top floor and then take the yacht to leave...
But the biggest problem right now is that she couldn’t get down from the top floor.
The elevator leading to the lower floors was set up with a fingerprint lock, and only Bai Yu and the housekeeper could go down.
Even the servants of the Lu family could only go downstairs after applying to the housekeeper.
She had tried several tis before, asking the servants to pass a ssage to the Lu family for her, even offering tens of millions in compensation, but they remained unmoved.
She didn’t know what thod Bai Yu had used to make these servants prefer to give up the huge rewards rather than betray Bai Yu.
The more Qiaoxu thought about it, the more her head hurt.
Bai Yu had virtually blocked all the paths she could think of and exploit.
Unless Bai Yu agreed to let her go, she might be trapped here for a lifeti.
If that was really the case, the re thought of it terrified Qiao Xuxu.
She stood in front of the railing, thinking all the ti about how to escape from Bai’s house, losing track of ti.
"Little Xuxu, I’m back."
A deep and pleasant voice, with a touch of frivolity, sounded behind Qiaoxu, giving her a start.
She turned her head abruptly, and Bai Yu was standing right behind her, even a little too close for comfort.
His body emitted a faint sandalwood scent like he had just returned from a temple.
She had no interest in appreciating it and simply spoke indifferently:
"When will you let go?"
Bai Yu looked down at her, both eyes bottomless, and his emotions completely unreadable at this mont.
He just stared at her quietly, not answering her question, but making her sowhat impatient.
"I was in such a hurry to co back, thinking that you might miss , but it turns out you just want to leave ?"
His tone was flat, and Qiaoxu couldn’t tell if he was upset.
But clearly, he wasn’t particularly inclined to answer her question.
"Bai Yu, whether you’re deliberately teasing or being serious, please understand that I’m a married woman with a child, and there’s no way I’ll stay here for the rest of my life."
"Why?"
Bai Yu frowned, and the question didn’t seem casual. His expression was so serious, as were his eyes, that it was impossible to ignore.
This caught Qiaoxu off guard for a mont.
Then, she said, "There is no reason. My husband needs , my child needs , of course I will go back."
"But I need you too."
Bai Yu still looked straight into her increasingly irritable eyes, speaking earnestly.
Qiaoxu: "..."
With his serious deanor, he managed to choke her with such irrational words.
Several tis, she was infuriated by his magical linguistic logic, wanting to hit soone.
After taking several deep breaths, she finally cald herself down and continued reasoning with Bai Yu:
"Bai Yu, I appreciate you saving , but you’re just my lifesaver, and I won’t repay you with myself. You and my husband, and my child, have different anings to ."
Upon hearing this, Bai Yu suddenly laughed, "Are you saying that I have no aning to you at all?"
For so reason, Qiaoxu actually heard a hint of suppressed sadness in Bai Yu’s words.
During this period, Bai Yu had always told her he liked her, that he’d give his heart and soul for her, and so on.
Aside from the fact that he was always flippant when talking about these things, even if he spoke seriously, she would never have believed him.
