They first went to watch a movie.

He Jian’s choice in the movie surprised Mo Roulan when she realized that it was a romantic movie. The first two tis when they went to watch a movie, it had an adventure as its the and didn’t have much of a romance but this one...it even had a make-out session.

Her cheeks were red as she felt He Jian’s burning gaze on her during the movie.

It suddenly felt too hot inside the theater.

When the movie ended, Mo Roulan sighed in relief but when the whole ti during the dinner they had in a restaurant, He Jian continued to look at her with aningful gaze, she couldn’t even raise her head to et his eyes.

She wondered why that was.

As much as she wanted to be bold, her courage flew away whenever she saw the amusent in his eyes.

At the sa ti, she felt slightly giddy inside her heart.

However, when they stepped outside the restaurant all the giddiness vanished from Mo Roulan’s heart on seeing the man waiting for her.

"Xiao Rou"

Wang Weimin who was leaning against a car called out and then walked towards Mo Roulan.

Mo Roulan’s face went cold and He Jian didn’t look any different. He imdiately blocked Wang Weimin’s way and looked at him with a cold and hard gaze.

"He Jian..."

Wang Weimin frowned seeing this but He Jian said coldly

"Mr. Wang, it would be better for you to leave."

Wang Weimin sighed on hearing the words. His gaze went to his daughter and he almost pleaded when he said

"Xiao Rou, can we talk for so ti? I promise that I won’t take much ti off yours. Dad just wants to explain his side."

Mo Roulan didn’t look moved at all but she still said to He Jian.

"Let talk."

She wanted to see what he had to explain although she was amazed that he still felt that any kind of explanation could be worth forgiving him.

Exactly ten minutes later, Mo Roulan and Wang Weimin were seated in front of each other inside a private room of the restaurant.

Wang Weimin looked at her silently for a few monts but as he saw that her face stayed cold and she looked at him indifferently, he sighed and started speaking

"I have always loved only one woman in my life and that was your mother."

Wang Weimin paused for a mont and then continued with red eyes.

"Back then, when I had married Ruru...she was ready to live as I could keep her. She accepted as I was. But I always felt guilty for not providing her with the life she deserved. She was from a rich family and had always lived a luxurious life. She had never cooked but for , she even learned that. I felt guilty whenever I would co from the job and see your mother working in the kitchen. Her hands would swell in winter because of working with cold water. I felt as if I was not enough of a man because I couldn’t provide my wife with a comfortable life."

" After you were born and started to grow up my guilt increased. I was very studious and hard-working but I didn’t have enough to send my children to those costly schools. The town never had enough opportunities. So to make the family situation better, I decided to start a business but it required money. So I asked Ruru to go to Lin family. Ruru refused. We fought and then a week later, I decided to go to the city and get a job there. I and Your mother had planned to shift to the city only after I got the job and beca stable. But I had never known that things would turn out the way they did."

"I didn’t realize when Shen family’s daughter Shen Zhilan started to like . She proposed to one day. I refused of course and told her that I was married. But she could not accept the no. She threatened to leave jobless and bring our family to the road if I didn’t accept her as my wife. I ...I was afraid because she really had the power to do so. I asked for so ti ...but in that sa week, Shen Zhilan made attempts to kill Ruru."

Wang Weimin’s fists were clenched tightly.

"When Ruru called she was so scared but she didn’t even know why it happened. I was more scared after that...so a few days later, I accepted Shen Zhilan’s proposal but I refused to divorce Ruru."

Mo Roulan’s hands were clenched tightly to form fists as she heard everything.

But she didn’t say anything. She let Wang Weimin say whatever he wanted to say.

"I don’t know when she made sign those divorce papers. I don’t when it happened. I just...I just rembered trying to call your mother but she never picked it up. I couldn’t go to visit my wife and children because Shen Zhilan always had her eyes on . She was by my side...whether it was work or ho. She threatened that If I went to see your mother, she would not leave her alive. So I obeyed."

Wang Weimin swallowed the lump down his throat as he looked at his daughter and said softly

"Xiao Rou, believe . I have loved your mother only for my entire life. I never wanted to leave her but I didn’t really have any way left. I still love her but now she is too far away from ."

Mo Roulan looked at him calmly who looked as if he was going through the worst phase of his life.

"Are you done?"

She asked coldly and Wang Weimin nodded his head as he stared at her unblinkingly. When Mo Roulan suddenly stood up, he couldn’t help but call out.

"Xiao Rou, I wish to stay in touch with you and Chenchen. Both of you are my..."

Without waiting for him to complete his words, Mo Roulan turned around and said coldly.

"We don’t wish to."
