Chapter 23: SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT
Anisha pulled Duciana by the hair as she yelled and dragged her out of the office. Zeeb moved out of the way and closed the door as they left.

The drive back to the Freki mansion was solemn, as I felt sorry for Conri for all the suffering he had gone through. By the ti I reached the mansion, my body felt tired, and I headed to the shower first. Hours later, I sat by the patio sipping beer and staring into the deep fog of Mount Chugach.
"Oh Conri, I wonder what you are doing right now? "I spoke out loud.
"Probably cursing your shalessness," Freki answered through our mind link as he yawned.

Suddenly Freki growled and stood on alert. Staring into the woods, I felt my skin crawl at the realization that soone was in the woods watching us. I stood from the chair, placed the beer on the rail, and walked down the patio, my bare feet connecting with the dew from the grass and welcoming the coldness.
I walked to the adow in the middle and stood in, waiting for the person to show themselves. I could hear the light breathing and sense the presence of the intruder. We were at a stalemate, as they refused to show themselves. I pushed the power of Freki into the woods and it seed the person was too clever and hid himself.
I paced up and down and finally, I ran out of patience, growled so loud, and yelled, "Who the fuck are you?
