A human scratched his head for a mont before saying,

"I think... I’m gonna quit."

Rocky blinked for a while before glancing at the man, who showed a bit of awkwardness.

Rocky nodded slightly and said,

"It’s fine... You don’t need to risk your life for sothing like this. And everyone... you guys should think carefully about whether to continue the rescue or not."

A wave of hesitation spread through the troop at that mont. If soone said they weren’t afraid, it would be a total lie. Especially after witnessing the absolute power of that monstrous devil cat.

Moreover, at this mont, they could see tiny things floating in the air near the entrance of the cavern—the density of them was too thick, and it made everyone rember one thing:

The parasitic plant crawled into their beasts’ brains.

It was a visible trap.

They didn’t want to lead their beasts into a dangerous place again. Moreover, the young seedlings they had taken from the lizardn were not enough in case those parasitic plants got them again.

" too. I give up," an elf sighed as he spoke up.

...

"I quit... sorry, but I... I..."

...

"Sorry..."

So people bowed their heads in embarrassnt, others just slightly shook their heads in powerlessness.

They had faced a ton of dangers ti after ti on this journey, but this thing was really too overwhelming for them.

The beasts had been saved successfully. The monsters were no longer chasing them anymore. They could leave this place safely.

Although they couldn’t handle the core of the matter, and might even make it more serious in the future. It could happen if the holy plant stayed safe and found a way to continue doing those things.

But it wasn’t a big problem.

They already knew the way it operated, so they could avoid this trouble next ti. Moreover, they would keep a seedling by their side to handle it.

A safe move.

Pretty soon, everyone left one by one.

Rocky didn’t bla them. After all, in their case, maybe he would do the sa too.

However, if they knew the culprit was not a common plant but a holy plant, they might change their minds.

Rocky let out a long breath while gazing at the entrance of the cavern. He blinked for a while and asked,

"So... you guys want to join ?... It’s a bad option."

Tyrone shrugged his shoulders and stepped forward beside Rocky.

"I haven’t saved my beast yet... Besides, I have a feeling... my beast is over there, and there’s sothing good in that cavern. I’m not letting you take it alone."

Rocky rubbed his chin and nodded. Then he turned his attention toward a white-haired dwarf. Different from other dwarves, who were born with muscular bodies, this guy was quite slender.

"And you?... Your beast has been saved anyway..." Rocky said while glancing at the dwarf’s beast beside him.

A small golem—yet it made Rocky a bit surprised. The aura it gave off was quite strange and energetic.

He thought that strange power ca from the bright runes carved over the golem’s body.

He wondered what that was...

"Na’s Stone... Plus, my beast has always been safe."

Rocky scratched his head for a mont. He didn’t expect that dwarf to be such a quiet person.

But who cared?

Rocky narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the tiny things floating over the entrance of the cavern. Even if they crawled into his brain by so thod, he wouldn’t worry because skills related to mind control didn’t affect him.

However, thinking about the sense of that damned, disgusting thing wriggling in his brain still carried an uncomfortable feeling.

Thus, he tossed a fire pill into his mouth and triggered one of its traits. Soon, flas blanketed over him, forming an absolute defense to prevent the intrusion of those ugly plants.

In addition, once they approached him, the heat from the flas instantly burned them into ash.

Beside him, Tyrone and Stone had their own thods to handle those plants. It was quite easy for them when Tyrone triggered a skill related to fla, using a thod similar to Rocky’s. anwhile, Stone summoned strange runes over his body, making a visible wall around him.

Rocky gazed at the entrance for a mont before stepping inside first. The two guys followed behind him.

"Shit!"

Rocky’s face twisted in discomfort as he glanced around this place... Almost the entire cavern was filled with those tiny things... from the ceiling above to both sides of the cavern. All of them floated in the air, flying toward Rocky’s group. But the mont they approached, they instantly turned into nothing, leaving a burnt sll that stirred their noses.

(It slls like the burnt celery dish my sister made.)

After 30 minutes, they reached a three-way fork in the cavern.

They stopped and glanced at each other.

Rocky scratched the back of his head for a mont and said,

"Well... I think... I’ll take the left."

Stone rubbed his chin for a mont before speaking up.

"Then I’ll go right."

Tyrone shrugged his shoulders while smiling quietly.

"I’ll follow you, Rocky."

Stone frowned while staring at Tyrone. A few thoughts flashed through his mind, though he just nodded.

"I’ll take mine. Goodbye."

Rocky and Tyrone blinked for a mont before taking their own ways.

Ten minutes later, Rocky and Tyrone walked leisurely in the passageway filled with blood and the scent of rotten corpses.

It was quite silent because they had no idea what to say.

In order to put an end to the dullness, Tyrone spoke.

"Your beasts are very strong. How did you ta them in the beast world?... They even ca to the black zone."

Rocky narrowed his eyes for a mont as Tyrone started the conversation first, but he still answered calmly.

"You could say that."

Tyrone smirked.

"Seems like you’re a man of few words... but I guess that’s how a man should be."

Rocky shrugged his shoulders for a mont, not denying what the elf said.

(You’re not a man, huh?) Rocky kidded himself.

But the next second, he slightly frowned as he heard sounds echoing in the cavern ahead.

"Monsters?"
