The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with anticipation as a crowd swiftly gathered around the first guy in the center.
Hopeful and desperate faces pressed in close, their eyes shimring with emotion.
For many years, these individuals had felt lost and forgotten, but now they looked to this man as if he were their last beacon of hope.
Children, n, won, and the elderly all clamored for attention, eager to be chosen.
The first guy surveyed the throng encircling him, panic flickering in his eyes. "Damn! I didn't expect this to escalate so quickly,"
He thought bitterly. "I need to calm them down or I won't make it out of here in one piece."
"Everybody calm down!" he shouted over the din, but his voice was swallowed by the chaos surrounding him.
Frustration mounting, he narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"I said everyone calm down!" His voice bood across the area like thunder, causing the crowd to take a step back in shock.
A heavy silence fell as they stared at him wide-eyed; they could feel their eardrums vibrating from his powerful shout.
"Good! That's better," he nodded with satisfaction at the now-quiet crowd.
"Listen up: The kind gentleman can only take those between the ages of five and eighteen."
Instantly, an uproar erupted once more. So faces lit up with joy while others twisted into expressions of disappointnt and resentnt.
Whispers filled the air: "Why these requirents?"
"What about us?"
"Is this so sort of sche. Everyone I believe this guy might part of that Noble Family to abduct children and use them tiake sacrifice. Don't believe what he says?"
As doubt crept into their minds, caution replaced excitent among those who t the age criteria.
They began to wonder if this was part of a sinister plot, perhaps an abduction for so dark purpose?
The first guy's expression darkened as he caught sight of one particularly vocal critic amidst the crowd, a man whose words dripped with suspicion.
"If it weren't for timing,I would have killed this guy by now" he muttered under his breath.
He forced a smile onto his face and addressed everyone again: "Please understand that this is not so sche to abduct children! The kind gentleman genuinely wants to provide a safe haven for holess children."
He paused dramatically before adding, "Do you really think soone as powerful as a Tier 9 Forbidden Realm expert would stoop so low?"
Gradually, skepticism began to wane as they considered his words, how could such an esteed figure resort to such actions?
With that realization ca collective relief; perhaps there was truth in what he said after all.
Just then, another voice cut through the air: "How do we know you've even t this Tier 9 Forbidden Realm expert?" The sa person persisted with resentnt laced in his voice.
Frustration bubbled within him again; thoughts raced through his mind about how much he wanted to silence that voice forever.
But just then, a chilling whisper echoed beside him: "When you're done here… kill him."
The first guy stood montarily stunned, a cold smirk creeping across his face as he fixed his icy gaze on the crowd.
"No one can destroy the master's plan," he muttered, his voice low and nacing.
He redirected his attention to the gathering, declaring, "While I may not have encountered a Tier 9 Forbidden Realm expert myself, I assure you that everything I've said is true. If you choose not to believe , there's nothing more I can do."
An uneasy silence enveloped the crowd as they exchanged glances filled with uncertainty.
"Listen up! Anyone between the ages of five and eighteen who wishes to change your life and destiny, step forward now! This is an incredible opportunity that won't co around again. You can either remain trapped in this godforsaken place or take control of your fate. The choice is yours!" With that, he fell silent.
The air thickened with hesitation as eyes darted among each other.
Suddenly, a scrawny little boy stepped forward from the back of the crowd.
His ssy hair was dirt-streaked, his pale skin stretched tightly over sunken cheeks, and cracked lips spoke of hunger.
He wore tattered clothes that hung loosely on his frail fra and cradled a tiny girl wrapped in similar rags.
Surprised by this unexpected sight amidst the throng of holess people and beggars, the first guy looked down at them in disbelief.
The little boy gazed up with innocent eyes and asked earnestly, "Big uncle, can I bring my siblings along?"
"Oh? You have siblings? How many?" The first guy replied, taken aback.
After a brief pause for thought, Leo answered proudly, "Including , there are twenty of us! I'm the oldest."
For a mont, silence reigned as the first guy processed this revelation. Then he smiled warmly. "Of course you can bring your siblings along."
Leo's face lit up with excitent as he exclaid, "Thank you so much!"
"Hahaha! No worries at all!" The first guy chuckled before asking curiously, "What's your na?"
After pondering for a mont, Leo replied shyly but confidently, "My na is Leo."
"Alright then! Go call your other siblings to join us," said the first guy with an encouraging smile.
Without hesitation, Leo handed over the baby in his arms to the first guy before sprinting off into the distance with joy radiating from his pale face.
As he held the baby close to him now, a small creature whose face was flushed red with fever, the first guy felt concern wash over him.
Just monts later though, her color returned to normal; yet she remained pale and continued sucking her fingers hungrily.
Glancing back at the crowd without saying a word only deepened their silence; after several minutes passed without anyone stepping forward, his frustration mounted into a heavy sigh.
Gritting his teeth in anger, he glared at the man responsible for all this chaos, a deep-seated killing intent simring beneath the surface.
"I'll make him wish for death in a while," he muttered in his heart.
Monts later, Leo returned, a group of malnourished children trailing closely behind him.
Their fragile bodies resembled re shadows, skin stretched tight over bones, pale faces like ghosts peering out from tattered clothes.
Boys and girls alike looked up at him with wide eyes filled with hope and fear.
"Big uncle, these are my siblings," Lep pointed to the children standing behind him.
"Good job, Leo! From now on, your lives will never be the sa," the first man said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Suddenly, that sa man added ominously, "Hey little guy, don't trust him! He's planning to use you and your siblings for so evil sacrifice. Don't go!"
The first man locked eyes with this troublemaker for several tense monts before turning away.
Inside, however, his desire to kill was teetering on the edge; one more word from that guy might push him over.
Leo turned to the speaker and declared in his youthful voice, "I, Leo, don't want to be trapped here forever. I won't let my siblings suffer any longer! This opportunity is too precious to pass up, even if it turns out to be a trap that could cost us our lives. I'm willing to take that risk because this isn't the life we deserve!
Opportunities co but once; if I miss this chance, there's no going back. At least I'm fighting for a better future!"
"Huh?" The first man blinked in surprise at Leo's words; he hadn't expected such wisdom from a ten-year-old child.
Admiration flashed in his eyes as he muttered under his breath, "This kid could make a pretty good assassin."
The crowd fell silent, their expressions shifting from shock to awe as they processed Leo's brave declaration.
Just then, a woman stepped forward, her three children in tow.
With a hopeful glance at the first guy, she said, "Sir, I don't quite understand why you're only taking children. But as that little guy ntioned, isn't it better to take risks than to be a coward? I may be past the age limit, but my three kids et all the requirents. Can you please take them?"
The first man paused for a mont, studying her with silence before responding. "For this one ti, I'll make an exception and allow you to bring your children along."
The woman's eyes widened in disbelief as she processed his words.
"But didn't you say…?" Her surprise was palpable.
He waved his hand dismissively and reassured her, "Don't worry about it! The kind gentleman gave one extra spot that I can fill if I choose to, and I've decided to use it for you."
Overwheld with gratitude, the woman sank to her knees, tears glistening in her eyes. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
"Co on now," he said gently as he helped her up from the ground. "No need for that."
With tears streaming down her face, she gathered her children close as they stood behind him, three little faces filled with hope and excitent.
As the first man stood tall, a spark of inspiration ignited in those who t the age requirents.
One by one, they began to step forward, forming a line behind him.
Within just a few minutes, about a thousand young faces ranging from five to eighteen years old stood behind the first guy with hopeful looks on their faces.
