But the mont Damon gently patted her back, all the anxious thoughts in Charlotte’s heart began to fade. "You did nothing wrong," he assured her. "On the contrary, I think Miss Nara wants to tell the Elder just how well you did today."

In the end, Damon’s words turned out to be completely true.

Charlotte noticed that not a single harsh word left Nara’s lips while she spoke to the Elder. Instead, she kept repeating, "You won’t believe this, Elder," as though the words were so kind of spell.

Her excitent was almost childlike. At tis, she even looked as though she was fighting the urge to bounce on her toes. Charlotte never imagined Nara could act like this since the first ti they t here, Nara looked like a strict, calm, and composed young woman.

A little while later, Nara finally ended the call with the Elder and ca back toward them, her face glowing with joy.

"Alpha, Luna, would you like to co here every week?" she asked brightly, only to quickly shake her head. "No, no, I know you’re busy. How about just coming whenever you can? Once a month would still be wonderful."

Charlotte blinked in surprise, glancing at Damon before turning her eyes back to Nara. "Why?"

Nara arched her brow. "Why? Isn’t it obvious? Look at them." She pointed eagerly toward the children, who had begun to step out of their hiding places. "Oh, Luna, you’re the very first person who’s ever made them feel this safe!"

Charlotte leaned closer to the glass, watching as a few of the children carefully pulled storybooks from the shelves. One of them even opened the sa fairy-tale book she had read earlier.

"They like you," Nara said with a smile. "I just spoke with the Elder about this, and he told it’s also a wonderful chance for you to find a child you might want to adopt."

Charlotte exchanged glances with Damon, silently asking for his opinion. But he only smiled in return, as if wanting to say he would stand by whatever choice she made.

"What do you think, Luna?" Nara asked once more, looking at her in such hopeful eyes. "Would you like to visit again?"

Charlotte slipped her fingers into Damon’s and squeezed his hand firmly before replying, "Yes." She turned to Nara with a bright smile. "We’ll co here once a week."

Nara’s eyes widened, her heart leaping with joy because Charlotte’s answer went far beyond her expectations.

For a mont, Nara looked as if she might burst into tears from happiness. She clasped her hands together and bowed her head slightly. "Thank you, Luna ... Alpha. The children will be so thrilled."

Behind the glass, a few little faces peeked out shyly, their curious eyes watching Charlotte. One of the bolder boys waved at her, and soon a few of the others followed.

"Oh, Lord ... this is the very first ti I’ve seen sothing so wonderful!" Nara clapped her hands together again, tears spilling freely down her cheeks. This ti, she didn’t even try to wipe them away.

Damon, on the other hand, let out a low chuckle. "My Luna really is a children’s magnet." He leaned closer to Charlotte, his breath brushing against her ear as he whispered, "Or rather ... no one can escape your charm."

His voice was deep and husky, just like the way he always whispered to her when he went into rut.

That mory alone was enough to make Charlotte’s whole face flush red with embarrassnt, her skin burning hot. Her heart beat faster, and she quickly looked away before Damon could notice how flustered she was.

"Alright then." Charlotte cleared her throat, forcing herself back to the mont. "We’ll reach out to you every ti we plan to visit, Miss Nara. But next week might be an exception ... my schedule is really tight."

The Broken Bond movie was entering its final stage of filming, and there was a good chance the producer would start calling her in for last-minute shoots and wrap-ups. After that, they would probably throw a celebration party to mark the end of filming.

Charlotte had no doubt the event would be crowded with reporters, flashing caras, and endless interviews. It would be exhausting, but she also knew it was part of her job as an actress.

"Don’t worry, Luna." Nara finally brushed the tears from her face and offered a warm smile. "These children aren’t going anywhere. You can always co back whenever you have the ti."

After sharing a few more words, Damon and Charlotte finally stepped out of the refugee building. They had arrived feeling nervous, especially Charlotte, but now they left with a sense of peace and an excitent to return soon.

Before they parted ways, Nara slipped Charlotte her personal number. "So I can send you pictures of the children whenever you’d like," she explained with a gentle smile.

Charlotte held the slip of paper tightly in her hand as they walked away. The thought of seeing those little faces again already made her look forward to the days ahead.

"Do you want to eat sothing before we go ho?" Damon asked as he leaned over to help Charlotte fasten her seat belt.

Charlotte paused for a mont, tapping her chin in thought. "How about we buy so takeout and eat together with the others?"

They had been away from ho for more than a week, and Charlotte couldn’t help but miss them. Unfortunately, her parents had business in Velmoria, which ant they had to leave Northbridge for a while.

Still, Charlotte often thought her parents didn’t need to stay in Northbridge anymore because he was doing fine now.

Damon had already strengthened the manor’s security, filling Crimson Moon with skilled werewolves who quietly followed her in the shadows to keep her safe. But like all parents, theirs couldn’t rest easy until Julian and Ronan were truly found.

"Very well." Damon gave her a soft smile and patted her head before starting the engine. "So, what do you want to eat?"

"I’m not sure ...." Charlotte tilted her head, pretending to think hard. "Maybe sothing flavorful, like roast chicken? And ... could we also stop by a bakery? Maybe Haven would like sothing sweet."

But in truth, it was Charlotte who wanted sothing sweet.

Damon glanced sideways at her, and the corner of his mouth lifted into a smirk. "Haven, hm?" he said. "Or is it my Luna who’s craving sugar?"

Charlotte’s cheeks ward. "W-Well ... maybe just a little."

Her appetite had finally returned, to the point where she started craving food again like a normal person. As long as she made sure to eat in moderation, she tried not to suppress those cravings anymore.

But the reason she allowed herself to feel that joy was because Damon was always by her side, encouraging her, reminding her that it was alright to enjoy the little things. With him, she didn’t have to be afraid of being weak or judged.

"Then sweets it is," Damon said with a faint smile. "I’m craving them too."

Charlotte almost laughed, because she knew very well he wasn’t the type who enjoyed sweet things. But every ti she wanted to eat sothing most people considered a ’guilty pleasure’, he always made sure to eat it with her.

He never let her indulge alone. By sharing it, he made her feel as if there was nothing wrong with treating herself once in a while.

It was such a small gesture, yet it ward Charlotte’s heart more than words ever could.
