56:No Second Chances

It was still early in the morning. A lady could be seen packing all her belongings in a hurry. If one were to take a good look at her, they would recognize her as the principal. The room temperature wasn’t hot, yet she was sweating as though she were inside a roasting pot. Her entire body was trembling, but she didn’t stop packing.

"The plane should arrive in the next twenty minutes. I should go now," she muttered, grabbing her bag and dashing out of the house at full speed.

A woman who seed to be her neighbor noticed her and called out to ask where she was going, but the principal had no ti for idle chatter. She might co off as rude now, but she was ready to apologize once her safety was assured.

She reached the airport and waited anxiously for the plane, her eyes darting around fearfully. As her gaze road, it locked onto a pair of eyes she never wanted to see again.

Her spirit trembled, and her soul threatened to leave her body.

"Calm down, Gloria, calm down. You’re just anxious—that’s why you’re seeing things," she whispered, shutting her eyes and taking a deep breath. When she opened them again and looked toward the spot, it was empty.

"I knew it... I was just imagining things. This is all in my head. I will reach my destination safely, and never even get involve in anything related to him again" she kept praying until the plane arrived. A smile of relief spread across her face, and she was about to step forward—only to realize she couldn’t move.

"You seem to be going sowhere. To buy the coffin?" Everett’s cold voice rang out behind her, and her entire body turned ice-cold.

Tears rolled down the principal’s cheeks. "Please... I... I’m really clueless about this. I didn’t know Anabel acted on her own. She did report to , yes, but I warned her not to lay hands on her. I even threatened to fire her! I swear, I knew nothing about this," she sobbed.

The airport was crowded, and as the principal pleaded, people began to stare at her like she was insane.

"Are they filming sothing again? These people never spare the airport, I wonder which new movie is this," soone comnted.

"Oops, she’s good at acting. It looks so real. Maybe another top actress is about to rise," another person remarked.

"Where’s the cara, though? I don’t want to be captured like this—so embarrassing! I’m not even wearing makeup!"

"Ah, the plane’s here! Let’s go, everyone!"

The principal’s face paled at the comnts. All eyes were on her, yet no one ntioned Everett, who was glaring at her with murderous intensity. Even a fool would realize by now that no one else could see him.

Everett’s gaze was ice-cold. "Indeed, you weren’t aware of the scene. before she began schooling here, Didn’t I warn you?" he growled, his anger flaring.

The principal was on the verge of collapse. "I... I was trying to ensure her safety," she cried. "One more chance—please, just give one more chance—" Before she could finish, she suddenly started choking.

"I don’t give useless people second chances," he whispered, and just like that, the principal choked to death. Her body beca breakfast for the weak snakes.

...

Inside a dimly lit room, a beautiful lady had just woken up. She checked the ti—6:22 a.m. Still early. She yawned, went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, and took her bath. She ca out with a towel wrapped around her and scanned the room.

"Where’s my box, anyway?" she murmured, searching every corner but finding nothing. "It must be downstairs, then," she assud and exited the room without changing.

As soon as she got downstairs, she spotted the back of a strange man sitting there. She frowned and boldly approached him.

"Mister! How did you get into my ho? You’re not even ashad—you just barged into a lady’s room, you pervert!" she berated angrily. "If you know what’s good for you, get out of here before I call the cops!" she threatened.

Everett slowly lifted his head and looked at her coldly.

Upon seeing his face clearly, all her bravery evaporated. Her blood ran cold. "Isn’t this the legendary demon who owns everything in the city—and even beyond? Why is he here? And why is he looking at like we’re sworn enemies?" she wondered.

"Pervert, is it?" Everett’s chilling voice echoed.

The lady forced a smile and shook her head. "My bad, Mr. Everett. I didn’t recognize you. Please don’t be offended. How about I get you sothing to drink?" she offered quickly.

"Your blood should serve as cream, and your flesh should be the pie," Everett responded flatly.

The woman was stunned at first but quickly reconsidered. Her expression softened. "Ah, Mr. Everett is interested in my body. I... I actually don’t mind becoming your mistress but... you’re just too straightforward," she responded in a low, seductive voice, her face flushing.

Everett remained still, staring at her coldly without a word.

Her heart pounded. "He’s just staring at . Maybe he wants to take the lead. My goodness, he’s really a gentleman. If I beca his mistress, I’d be spoiled rotten," she thought, and gently loosened the towel around her body until she stood naked before him.

"When you want to start, please go easy on . I’m still a virgin," she whispered sweetly.

Everett’s brows furrowed deeper. Suddenly, he grabbed her neck. Before she could even react, both of them vanished.

...

Zaiyila was still on the floor, weeping bitterly. It was as if, until Everett returned and accepted her apology, she would neither move nor stop crying. As she sobbed, the entrance door opened. She stood up imdiately, hope blooming—only for it to die the mont she saw Everett walk in with a naked woman beside him.

Her vision blurred, and she fainted on the spot.
