System giggled so hard at that question. [Even if I knew, I would not give you the answer that easily host! Not when you are being all cute like that!]
Did system just call cute? Mira asked in her mind as she cocked her head to the side slightly. Was system broken? It had never called cute before. Was system a man? Mira questioned in her mind.
[ Do not be ridiculous, host! I am system! I am neither a he or a she!] system chid.
"But you sound female. Like a more humanoid version of the Apple Siri." Mira stated. She did not know how far she could push system but she wanted to know if it was possible to have system get angry.
System had teased her before and even made sassy jokes and remarks, Mira wondered if it was possible to make system feel the sa way she felt in those exact monts if she returned the favour. After all, she was bored and system was the only available thing she could speak to.
[You do know I can read your thoughts, right, host?]
This made Mira’s body quiver, like an electric current had passed through her body in an instant. She had her brows narrowed like soone who had been caught red handed doing a naughty deed. Often tis, she forgot that system could read her thoughts even though she communicated with System several tis in her head.
[And, even if you could vex or tease or get to feel an emotion that is not positive, would that really be in your benefit to try it out?
After all, I am the one giving you your tasks, hosts. And your chances of completing these tasks vary on the complexity and with death being the reward for failure, would it not be wiser and better to not get to feel a non positive emotion, host?]
Hearing system lay all these accurate facts out made Mira gulp. It sure sucked to be on the other end of the road especially when that end was the one being taught or disciplined.
"Have I ever told you how much I absolutely love you, system?" Mira bead, changing the topic instantly.
[Hahahahaha! Is sobody scared?]
Mira could swear she felt sweat curl down between her butt crack but that was it even possible at the mont. "Good to know you love too." Mira added.
[ Your delusion astounds , host!] System sounded so sweet all of a sudden that Mira’s brain registered it as a warning. She could have sworn that system responded to her in the sa tone it always did but all of a sudden it felt like a threat.
"Please do not kill with difficult tasks, system." Mira’s voice lowered as she squeaked. She put her hands together like she wanted to say a silent prayer and spread her lips wide to flash a smile. Her eyes were wide open and she blinked so innocently.
[If that is the baby face you make to convince people to do you good, host, I suggest you give up on it!]
This made Mira’s face flatten. "Good to know you are still the sa old, system." Mira said. Flattery would not work so she switched back to herself.
[Hehehe!]
Mira took a deep breath till she filled her lungs then let it out slowly. What was the ti now? She felt sleep claw it’s way to her eyes and she did not want to retire to bed before eting Ming Tao. Her body was beginning to feel way more fatigued that it did before.
Mira stood up. Maybe it was the comfort of the bed that made her sleepy. She paced in a straight line back and forth, trying to keep herself energised and awake. Mira began to swing her arms forward and back too to aid with keeping herself awake. This did not work. It my made her crave the bed even more.
Mira raised one leg up and stood on one foot. She alternated between both legs constantly then proceeded to jump. Jumping only got her heart racing in her chest and begs to give her a slight headache, this made her stop it. She wanted to get laid tonight and a headache was the last thing she needed to have right now.
"System, what is the ti now?" Mira asked. She was beginning to worry if Ming Tao had the intention to show up. Did she tell him where she would be waiting for him? What if he thought it was going to be the dying lake and he went there instead? What if the hint she gave to him that it was midnight made him assu she ant that lake instead of his bedroom? Should she go check? She was not sure what to do.
Ming Tao had never kept her waiting before so Mira did not know what to think.
[The ti is fifteen minutes past midnight, host!
Would you like there to be a clock counting the ti before you, host?]
Mira swallowed. If she had a clock right before her, she feared that seconds would feel longer than years. "No, nevermind that, system, thank you for offering." Mira responded.
[Just let know when you choose to change your mind!]
This made Mira laugh. It sounded like system was tired of answering her question even though she knew that was impossible. It was impossible, right?
This ti, system did not answer. Mira let out a sigh. Even if Ming Tao was at the dying lake, he was bound to return back to his bed chambers soon and Mira hoped that he would do so now. It was getting harder to stay awake and the last thing she wanted was to go to the lake all to discover that he was not there, or worse, that he left just before she ca and she missed him.
Mira made her way to the bed and laid down. Her eyes felt heavy but she tried to keep it open. Mira parted her lips to say sothing but a whisper left her mouth instead. "Ming Tao, honey, wherever you are, please, co ho. There is sothing I want to tell you."
