"No." Lil said preemptively.
"Aw co on I don't have this one yet!" I complained.
"Yeah and you don't need it either. I don't think I'd ever sleep soundly again if you grabbed it. Think about Maya too, think she'd want to share space with this thing?" she asked and I sighed before blowing a hole through the bot.
We moved on after that and honestly it was more of the sa with poor construction and rusted tal. After we killed a particularly robust bruiser Mr. shank contacted us again.
"Did you just kill Jero? His pecs were rock hard, we used to joke they could deflect bullets. Guess that's not true. Also, i'm pretty much totally going to kill you now by the way. " He said before hanging up.
We ignored that and soon reached the cellblocks, they were particularly nasty. Blood on the walls along with... other stuff. Panels ripped away to expose more pipes and wiring and plain bunk beds in small cells. The few bandits here died like bitches and we ca across a hole in the concrete that seed to drop into a shower room with steam rising out of it.-
When we dropped down we found a bandit showering in pants for so fucking reason. The bandit started talking mad shit when he noticed us though.
"Oh man! Oh man! You're dead! You're so dead! Shanks gonna gut you! Shanks gonna slit your throat! Shanks gonna suck out your eyes with a straw! Shanks gonna uuuggghg!" he went on and on until a particularly gnarly bandit with a literal shank through his head and coming out in front of his right eye stabbed him in the back.
"That's MISTER Shank." the bandit said calmly as the body fell dead.
"Hey so before we dismber you like a Skags chewtoy I gotta ask, do you know how fucked you are?" I said with a grin as the guy glared at .
He vanished in a flash of red light as he activated the personal teleporter and I casually reached behind and closed my hand around his throat as he went to stab in the back.
"A maggot that can teleport is still just a maggot. Easily crushed." I said with a grin before I squeezed as hard as I could snapping his shield and then his neck in one fluid motion.
"You killed my second husband! You actually killed him! I know I told you to but... I need a mont. go get the girl. I'll be in touch." Moxxi sent with audible shock and what sounded like sadness in her voice.
"Huh, never ntioned she was married to the guy. Who'd have thunk? Guy looked like he played for the sa team after all." I said genuinely surprised at the revelation.
We left through the unlocked door at the far side of the showers after grabbing the PTD and after a small skirmish(read slaughter) with the bandits we reached the cell block they lived out of and collectively grimaced. The place reeked sothing fierce and was in a state of total disrepair. The floor was busted up so bad plants were growing out of the raw dirt and concrete chunks. Walls to cells were smashed and in the center of the area a scrap tal campsite/hangout thingy was set up. We killed the bandits left in this area numbering about twenty as we went up the lift and then the stairs in what was probably the old prisons requisitions area. Athena was in the solitary confinent rooms and as we opened the door to it we saw her in a cell snapping a bandits neck.-
"Your rescue is most agreeable. They mostly just wanted to paint my nails and talk about boys. Almost like the sisters I never had because Atlas tricked into ... that got dark quickly. I don't have ti to explain but I need the teleporter. Give the PTD." she said seriously holding her hand outside the cell doors gap.
I shrugged and tossed the device to her fully expecting her to vanish the mont she got it. I was not disappointed.
"et back at Scooters. Sorry but this thing only has enough juice for one. Athena out." she said before vanishing in a flash of red.
"Rescue mission done. Lets go." Roland said and none of us felt like arguing.
Leaving the prison was as easy as back tracking through the dead halls we ca through and out the front. On the way out Moxxi sent us an echo that sounded genuinely sad about Mr. shanks death.
"Sorry to be a party shitter. Planning a funeral and a rescue is.... Anyways take a monster off the ramp, you'll survive the fall. Pour out a drink for David, I an Mr. shank for ." she said before cutting the call.
We used the Catch-A-Ride outside the prison to Digistruct us a couple of monsters and used them to go right over the ramp to the sands below. The impact rattled my friends a bit but I was fine with my durability traits. From there we simply drove across the sands ignoring the bandit technicals and weird long legged spider things as we got back on the highway.
"Do you ever feel like you are using a pistol with no ammo? Do you ever wonder if you could upgrade to an assault rifle? Then it's ti to ENGORGE by Atlas! Bzzzt I've managed to hide my signal using a promotional for male enhancent ENGORGE so communicating via echo should be safe now. Athena out." Athena sent over the echo and I almost fell off the monster from laughing too hard.
Thankfully the Atlas had cleared the shipping container blockades so the trip back to T-bone junction was smooth.
"Do you ever feel like you are throwing bricks? With ENGORGE you can fire automatically! Bzzzt Atlas is amassing firepower in the fathoms. Destroying that stockpile is the key to giving the resistance, as in , the ti to prepare as it crosses the companies cost limit. The eting is a go. Athena out." she sent right before we got back to T-bone junction and I DID fall off the monster from laughing too hard this ti.
When we arrived at Scooters and headed in he was sitting behind the desk and rely pointed to the room behind it in a "back there" manner. Athena was standing over a series of blueprints for a building of so sorta as well as explosives of the not so small sort.-
"I wont waste ti with pointless gratitude. This plan focuses on several parts, the first is creating the device that will send a signal to the bombs stored in the atlas depot, activating their destruction sequence. This will require my knowledge of their computer networks to gather the pieces to construct it, this will be my mission. Number two. The access code to enter the depot was changed after I defected from the company. Additionally on a more personal note their are two lieutenants that made things miserable with their cruelty back when I still served. I was not allowed to kill them myself because of company policy on assassinating fellow officers, that is no longer a problem. If you see them feel free to do the honors." she said seriously.
