Lydia and Pete returned to Sophia’s domain to et up with Mira and Fey. After all, it would only be fair to et Chloe’s parents after they spent a day with Maya’s before. Naturally, as the foxes were, visually speaking, a bit more impressive, the two had no idea what to say and were simply overwheld.

“So, the last ti we were here, we heard sothing, well… absolutely mindboggling about you…” The group was all together in the cottage's living room when Lydia glanced at the teal fox while awkwardly scratching her cheek, as she wasn't sure how to bring up the topic she wanted to talk about. “Is it true that you are a, for the lack of a better word, d-deity in this world?”

“I’ve been regarded as a deity by the inhabitants of the world your daughters ended up in, yes.” Mira smiled at her. “I don't see myself as one, though. None of the overseers do." She shook her head. “We oversee and manage certain parts of the world we’re in charge of. In my case, I’m in charge of magic itself and everything around it. I can see and understand why they’d see and my colleagues like that, as we are literally in charge of parts of the world they live in, but there are differences.”

“It’s rather difficult to understand those differences.” Lydia had a hard ti following her.

“It’s even harder to explain.” Mira scratched her cheek. “Especially to people from Earth. That world has sooo many deities that there will likely be a near-perfect overlap with what we identify as, just with a different na. So of the major differences for many would be around the topic of faith and belief. We ask for neither, nor do we answer to it. We don’t do things because our believers hope us to do. In fact, we don’t do things for the inhabitants of the world we oversee at all. Most of us don’t do things, full stop. If we do, it’s for the world as a whole, and the inhabitants are just a part of it.”

“Hah.” The couple from Earth only got more overwheld.

“How about this?” The teal fox couldn’t bla them. “The main reason we aren’t deities or gods or whatever is because we don't want to be.”

“Okay, that is understandable.”

“Alright, enough of that.” The overseer wanted to change the topic. “I’ve heard you two plan to do so sightseeing in the place your daughters ended up in?”

“Yes, we’d like to see what kind of world this really is.” Pete reacted with a slight nod as he looked at Mira. “We’re interested in learning more about it.”

“And then?” The overseer tilted her head.

“An interesting question.” He wasn’t sure how to answer that. “We are still thinking about our next steps, but it won’t matter unless we see it for ourselves in the first place.”

“It’s not an easy decision to make.” Lydia nodded along.

“Okay, now I’m starting to second-guess them actually being the sisters’ parents." Fey stared at the two for a mont before eventually shifting her gaze towards Sophia and Steph. "Do either of you even know the concept of not an easy decision?”

“How rude!” The tiger didn’t appreciate that.

“Nope!” The dog-girl, however, saw where she was coming from.

“It’s a valid concern.” The woman from Earth glanced at her older daughters while rolling their eyes. “Steph especially has her difficulties with thinking before acting.”

“I am not apologizing for living my best life!” Steph shook her head. “All of you are doing it wrong, not !”

“…” Everyone just looked at her.

“So, there are no plans to move to our world permanently?” Mira returned to the initial topic while looking at the couple from Earth.

“The plan is to think about it.” Lydia looked back at her. “According to what our daughters said, the new world sounds like it’s heaps and beyond better than our ho. Okay, depending on who and where you ask, a place being better than Earth is not really all that noteworthy. But, I think that’s overly negative. Sure, there are many, many, MANY things wrong and outright ssed up, but it has just as many, if not even more, redeeming and beautiful points if you ask ! You, uhhh, just have to look for them at tis. If anything, this world, according to our girls, seems a bit too good to be true.”

“It’s even better than we sold you!” The dog-girl disagreed with them.

“The answer to that is highly situational.” Mira, naturally, was a bit more levelheaded about it. “The girls beca part of the beastfolk, who are the most peaceful of the major races, and live in the safest place on the planet. Them praising these specific circumstances as much as they do is understandable and reasonable in my eyes.” She nodded a few tis.

“There certainly are scarier, darker, and rougher parts in this world.” Fey nodded. “Even nearby, you have the human folk, who have been extrely misguided to the point where they hate everything, including themselves. Though, after having cleaned up a bit there, the humans show so good signs of recovery, so there’s that.”

“Yeah, that’s a different matter altogether.” The overseer wasn’t going to join in on that topic. “However, if you follow after your daughters, beco mbers of the beastfolk, and live amongst them, you'll live a good and easy life many on Earth could only dream of. Even more so because your striped daughter is basically regarded as nobility.”

“Ahaha…” The tiger in question scratched her cheek in response. “True, it’s a bit of a cheat, but it doesn't diminish the part that everyone in the area is lovely! With no sign of danger anywhere near that it would ever matter.”

“What are these scarier and darker parts about?” Lydia ignored her daughter and focused on Fey instead. “I’d like to know more about what that entails.”

“Well, as Sophia correctly said, especially near the beastfolk capital, there’s not the slightest hint of danger besides maybe a regular wild animal here and there. Cri rates are astronomically low, too. If the humans manage to better themselves and learn to coexist peacefully, it’ll be an extraordinarily nice place to live. It already is.”

“That was not my question.”

“True.” She just nodded. “I'm not the biggest expert on Earth, I only know the basics that Mira explained to so ti ago.” The red fox took a short glance at her daughter, whom they let reincarnate from there to the new world. “You have all sorts of animals, right? Harmless ones like cows, dogs, and birds, as well as dangerous ones like wolves and other predators, right?”

“Yes.” Theo nodded before looking at her daughter. “Tigers, too.”

“Well, that one is also dangerous here, so it might not be the best example.”

“Oi!” That one, the striped girl, didn’t like that.

“Above regular animals like those, this world also has monsters and magical beings with powers far and beyond of the regular beastfolk, for example. If you aggravate them, it won’t end well for you. On an unrelated note to that, have you told your parents about that dragon you t and fought?” Feeling playful, Fey sent a smirk in the direction of the sisters.

“D-Dragon?!” Lydia’s eyes grew wide.

“Hey!” Sophia glared even harder at the smug fox. “The dragon, Kel, is much more than just a monster or a magical being! He can talk and is capable of reason! Also, I fought you, too!” She threw it back at Fey. “In fact, you were a much bigger challenge and way more dangerous! I’d bet money on you being as much of a battle-junkie as he is!”

“…” The red fox simply turned her face away.

“It’s true that there are monsters, yes.” The tiger then faced her parents. “I don’t see it being a problem, though. Non-sapient dangerous beings share no living space with regular people, so coming across one of them is way less likely than running into a tiger or lion on Earth, which is a basically non-existent danger for the majority of places. Right?” She then looked at Mira for confirmation.

“Yes.” The overseer smiled at her. “As ntioned earlier, the beastfolk continent is a peaceful one when it cos to monsters and strong magical beings. They exist, but magical beings are never a threat unless you aggravate them. If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you. Monsters, too, stick to their own areas because that’s in their nature. If you don’t get too close to them, they won’t co close to you.”

“I am still quite overwheld by the fact that there was a casual ntion of a d-dragon right now, so I have a hard ti wrapping my head around all of this." Lydia wasn't sure how to react.

“I agree with that.” Pete felt the sa. “It does sound like it’s a supernatural phenonon even for the regular inhabitants of this world, huh?”

“It certainly is.” The overseer reacted with a slight nod.

“I guess we should ask Eve and Theo about the dangers of this place?” He looked at his wife. “After all, they are normal and would have a better grasp on what the normal occurrences near them are.”

“I like that idea.”

“…” As no one normal besides Sari was present, the remaining girls decided to stay silent.

Afterward, it was ti for a small break so Lydia and Pete could let the new findings sink in before they could talk so more about the prerequisites to explore the world, or at least the capital, together with Maya’s parents.
