"Jason, to answer your question about Lucas Graham..." Noah finally replied in a friendly tone as he gazed at Jason, "Well, Lucas Graham is my enemy too..."
"WHAT!? Your enemy? Is he your enemy because he’s your uncle’s father-in-law?" Jason asked, glancing in the rearview mirror.
"No, not that. But because that man is my father’s enemy..."
Noah answered casually, but suddenly Matthew’s panicked voice interjected, echoing in his mind at the sa ti.
"Noah, is that the person you’ve been searching for all this ti?"
He calmly gazed at Matthew as he replied, "Hmm... Indeed. Lucas Graham is my recent target. I need to eliminate him!"
Then, silence.
No one spoke in the car for the rest of the way.
But Noah, ask them all to wait for him in his ho office, for the sudden eting.
...
Edgar, Matthew, and Jason sat in the ho office, waiting for Noah to join them.
They chat about the dinner party for a while before Edgar finally shows his curiosity, "Matthew, do you know why Noah suddenly called everyone and gathered us here?"
Edgar didn’t live in this house with Noah, as he was guarding Anderson Morgan and stayed at the Golden Phoenix Tower.
And a few minutes ago, Noah suddenly called him and asked him to co to this place.
He had to drive here faster to et him. But he was surprised to find Jason in this room.
Usually, when they discussed more private matters, Jason wouldn’t be there with them.
Matthew shares the sa confusion as Edgar about seeing Jason in the room with them.
That’s why he didn’t ntion to Edgar what Noah was about to discuss—the Lucas Graham matter. Instead, he simply responds with, "I don’t know..."
Edgar frowned as he quickly looked at Jason and asked, "How about you, Jason? Do you know?"
Before Jason could respond, suddenly the door swung open and Noah appeared. He was no longer wearing his suit, but instead dressed in casual ho clothes.
Noah smiled upon seeing their tense expressions as they stared at him.
"Would you like sothing to drink?" Noah offered in a relaxed tone, trying to ease their nerves.
"No, sir. I’m driving..." Edgar responds.
Matthew and Jason also refuse.
Noah nods slightly and moves to join them in the seating area. He sits on a single sofa and begins explaining his plan to deal with Lucas Graham.
"I’ve asked the three of you to gather here to discuss Lucas Graham. He is my target, the person I’m searching for from my father’s enemy list..."
He paused when he noticed Edgar and Matthew’s puzzled expressions, and he understood what was causing their confusion.
"Are you both wondering why Jason is here?" Noah asked calmly.
But hearing Noah’s words was enough to make Jason frown in confusion. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Matthew and Edgar, who seed to nod in response to Noah.
"Well, guys... Jason is now bonding with just like Matthew," Noah answered, only to add to Jason’s confusion.
Jason once again saw Matthew and Edgar nod, but this ti they no longer looked confused—a smile appeared on their lips as they both looked at him.
"What does that an? What bonding?" Jason couldn’t help but ask, gazing at Noah. "I have no clue what you’re talking about, Noah..."
Noah smiled and decided to test his ntal connection with Jason.
’I’ll explain everything later, Jason. But for now, listen to what we’re talking about...’
Jason’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at Noah.
He felt a jolt of surprise, suddenly hearing Noah’s voice in his mind, even though he hadn’t seen him open his mouth.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SORCERY..."
Jason suddenly shouted, his gaze fixed on Noah. He’s overwheld by the thought that Noah might communicate with him through his mind alone.
"Y-You, Noah, you talk to..." he stamred, unable to finish.
"Yes. I can communicate with you through our ntal connection. Actually, you could say we’re speaking directly to each other through our minds. So sort of telepathic ability."
Noah smiled, amused by how comical Jason’s expression was—his jaw dropped and eyes widened as if his eyeballs were about to pop out.
Jason trusts Noah, but he finds it too unbelievable to accept.
How can a human communicate ntally?
That could only happen in a movie or a drama, right?
However, looking at how serious Noah now appears, and even Edgar and Matthew, who look calm, they weren’t surprised. It makes him realize that they both know about it.
He quietly swallowed as his doubt gradually disappeared.
"Noah, you said ’WE CAN’. Does that an I can also talk back to you through the sa thod?"
Noah smiles as he nods, "You can try to speak to , but in your mind..."
Jason blinked several tis to ensure he wasn’t imagining this conversation.
After a mont, he cleared his throat and kept his eyes on Noah as he asked, ’Are you joking, right, Noah?’
’I’m not trying to humor you. That’s the truth, I can speak to you like this because you’re completely loyal to .’
Noah suppressed a laugh, watching Jason’s jaw drop even further.
’Seriously, how is soone even talking like that? Are you, uh, Noah? Maybe an Avenger or sothing?’
Jason asked while trying not to laugh. He abruptly thinks Noah was the Avengers because they have crazy, superhuman powers.
Noah can’t help but laugh at how hilarious Jason’s words are.
’Jason, of course, I’m human. Normal human. Uh, well, I am Noah Morgan—the sa person you know from Opal City...’
Matthew and Edgar could only watch Noah and Jason stare at each other silently; they both knew they had to communicate through their ntal link. But now, hearing Noah laugh, they could no longer contain their curiosity.
"What is he saying, Noah?" Matthew asked.
"Yes, I also want to hear..." Edgar, who was usually calm, is now looking curious.
Noah looked at Edgar and Matthew and said, "He asked if I’m part of the Avengers."
Matthew chuckles softly as he looks at Jason, a playful glint in his eye.
"Hahaha, I know it. I’m guessing that..." Edgar chuckled, amused as he looked at Jason.
Jason tried to say sothing, but his words betrayed him.
