"Is it about investigating the Blood Demon Church?" Sebastian said indignantly. "Those bastards have the audacity to misuse your Holy Emblem after their evil deeds. They are utterly unforgivable!"

Charlotte glanced at him in surprise:

"You’re well-inford."

Sebastian puffed up with pride:

"Lord Charlotte, in the Outer City District, no one’s information network is more efficient than that of the Rose Association!"

Charlotte nodded slightly.

The Rose Association had considerable influence in the Outer City District, and his words were not without rit.

If not for this reason, she would not have asked them to take on this task, nor would she have intended to personally visit the Outer City District the next day.

The Outer City District was incredibly complex, and without the Rose Association’s covert support, her, the covetously sweet little rich girl, heading there would indeed be like sending a lamb to the slaughter.

"Alright, take them away and investigate the secrets of these two Blood Demon Cultists as well. Tell the results tomorrow."

Charlotte glanced at the four Transcendents who had been repeatedly kicked by Sebastian as they spoke, barely suppressing a twitch at the corner of her mouth, and said indifferently.

She had no plans to personally investigate these two freelance rcenaries who had undergone the First Embrace.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but that she feared her strength wasn’t enough to restrain them.

Even if Sebastian or Nisi could seal the two n’s powers, Charlotte was concerned that the Blood Demon Church might have so backup plan in place for them.

Those who undergo the First Embrace generally have a lower strength than the "Family Head" who embraced them. Given that these two rcenaries had reached the First Tier of Starry rank, it is highly likely that they were backed by a Bloodline mber of at least the Second Tier of the Silver Moon!

And not to ntion, should anything go wrong, it would be all too easy to lose her sense of mystery and authority in front of a cat and a "dog"...

Now, in the eyes of the two, she was an Evil God who had risen again.

To maintain that sense of mystery, it was better to be cautious.

So, Charlotte simply passed the task to Sebastian.

It was convenient and would also be a test of his capabilities.

Surely a kingpin of the underworld like him should be well-versed in such matters.

"Of course, your humble Sebastian will do everything in his power to complete your trial!"

Sebastian’s eyes sparkled with excitent upon receiving Charlotte’s command, his eagerness apparent.

Clearly, he took the young girl’s arrangent as a test.

After all, how could a being capable of severely wounding him, the legendary Bloodline True Ancestor, not be able to handle such trifles by herself?

"And prepare for tomorrow. I want to personally select so servants in the Outer City District."

Charlotte thought for a mont, then continued.

Sebastian’s eyes instantly brightened, and he beca excited, quickly standing at attention and saluting:

"Rest assured! Sebastian will ensure that the magnificent you enjoys a most hospitable experience in the Outer City District!"

"... What I an is, keep a low profile and don’t cause any trouble."

Sebastian: ...

His face fell instantly, like a big dog with its ears drooping, making Charlotte’s eyelid twitch uncontrollably.

Well, well...

This guy wasn’t actually planning on so grand sche, was he?

Under Charlotte’s curious gaze, Sebastian paused in thought, then suddenly smiled gracefully:

"Rest assured, Sebastian will prepare diligently, ensuring a hospitable experience that won’t cause you any trouble."

Charlotte: ...

For so reason, seeing Sebastian so confident made her feel a sense of foreboding.

"Good to know."

"All right, I’m going to rest now. You should head back too."

Charlotte finished the blood in her goblet and dismissed him.

"The noble and beautiful Lord Charlotte, your humble Sebastian wishes you a splendid night. Your loyal servant takes his leave..."

Sebastian placed his right hand on his chest, bowing gracefully before dragging the four disheveled Transcendents away, vanishing into the darkness.

Charlotte shook her head slightly and turned back to her quarters.

...

The next day was overcast.

The sun hid behind dense clouds, and the blinding sunlight was nowhere to be seen.

It was perfect for soone like Charlotte to venture outside, and she could even stand outdoors for an extended period.

When Charlotte woke up from her sleep again, the maids she had almost finished training were already waiting outside the bedroom.

"Master, please choose your attire for the day."

Standing in front of the bed, they held various outfits, respectfully asking the girl who was still yawning like a sleepy kitten with tousled hair standing up like a porcupine, who was sitting in bed.

Becoming a Family Head had its perks.

There was no need to adhere to a fixed waking ti or be confined to the girlish noble dresses, one could sleep as long as needed and wear whatever desired.

However, Charlotte still didn’t indulge in sleeping late, instead, she got up at the usual ti, disciplined as ever.

The first day she slept in solely because she was exhausted.

The following days, while still waking naturally, had their routines, highlighting the practice of going to bed early and waking early.

Even after not managing to sleep early the previous day, Charlotte still struggled to get up on ti today.

In her opinion, self-discipline was a reflection of one’s potential for achievent, as it represented an individual’s ability to manage and dominate their own desires.

Indulgence would only lead to a descent into the abyss of depravity, and over ti, one would beco ruined.

"This one will do."

Charlotte casually selected a black gothic dress suitable for going outside from the array of clothes.

It had to be said, gothic attire really complented her; the garnts utilized vertical design lines and pleats, accentuating the slimness and elegance of one’s figure, creating a light and uplifting impression.

The dress itself was often adorned with dark floral patterns and embroidery from Coria, preserving Yonette’s cinched-waist style, exhibiting the complexity of the pleats alongside the simplicity of the lines, exuding a noble yet mysterious aura.

It was clear that Charlotte had grown quite accustod to wearing little dresses.

Humans really are a terribly adaptable species...

"As you wish."

Upon receiving the order, the maids sprang into action, bustling about.

Even though Charlotte continued to streamline her morning routine of washing up and dressing, it still took a good half an hour to finish everything.

"Master, everything is ready."

The maids brought over a crystal full-length mirror.

Looking into it, Charlotte saw a golden-haired, blue-eyed beauty incredibly captivating.

Today, too, she remained a day of noble beauty.

Breakfast was arranged by Casimodo.

A cup of sweet milk, a single fried egg, a piece of chocolate and raisin-stuffed sweet crisp bread.

Charlotte instinctively glanced over at Casimodo, who quickly explained,

"The milk is from a recent mbership contract with the Royal Capital’s Royal Ranch, at a special price, about 3 gold tana for this cup."

"The single-side fried egg has just been made, from the Northern Territory’s Red-winged Thunderbird, roughly 5 gold tana each, containing magic power, and rich in nutrients."

"The sweet crisp bread is specially provided, a bit pricier, with chocolate from Moon God Island, in the most traditional Elf flavor, also infused with magic power; the raisins are imported from Coria, in total... 8 gold tana per piece."

Charlotte: ...

Okay, so breakfast just cost 16 gold tanas, the equivalent of an Apprentice Priest’s monthly allowance...

She had grown numb to the extravagance of the Great Nobles.

And this was after Casimodo had already tried to cut down on the al costs.

Perhaps... I really should hire a reliable chef; one always pays a premium for such special deliveries, mostly carried by Mages—if they were cheap, that would be the real surprise!

Charlotte pondered this in her mind.

Of course, although she ntally grumbled, the young lady ate with relish. You do get what you pay for, after all.

Especially the fried egg and sweet crisp bread—after finishing them, Charlotte felt a warm glow throughout her body, as though filled with strength.

Watching the young master begin her al, Casimodo too breathed a quiet sigh of relief, thankful that his master hadn’t probed too deeply into the issue of the milk.

After all, the household had been consuming this sa milk every day, and not in small amounts...

After breakfast, the maids cleared away the dishes.

Casimodo respectfully handed the young lady a silk napkin to wipe her mouth and then asked:

"Master, do you have any plans for today?"

"I need to take a trip to the Outer City District, arrange the carriage for ."

Charlotte replied.

"What? Master, you want to go to the Outer City District?"

Casimodo’s eyes widened.

He hesitated a mont, but ultimately gritted his teeth and reminded her:

"Master, the Outer City District is too dangerous, really too dangerous!"

"Yesterday, there was another Blood Demon incident there, and the scene featured the sa evil pattern seen that night on our estate, covered in thorny roses! Going there now... is really too dangerous!"

Charlotte: ...

Evil... evil pattern...

Ridiculous! Has news of this spread so quickly?!

Seeing the young lady’s discontented look, Casimodo clearly misunderstood, promptly bowing his head:

"I apologize... Master, Casimodo has overstepped."

"If you’ve decided to go, you must have made your preparations. I just wanted to offer a word of caution..."

"That’s alright, I have it under control. Go prepare the carriage."

Charlotte was unfazed.

After a mont’s hesitation, Casimodo respectfully withdrew.

Entering the main hall, he called over a male servant:

"Prepare the carriage. The master is visiting the Outer City District today; also go to the Demon Hunting Institute to see Captain Chatham, invite him to accompany her."

Casimodo didn’t know yet, but a certain captain was destined to be bedridden for several days.

However, upon hearing the old servant’s words, the male servant stopped short, a look of confusion on his face:

"Lord Casimodo, isn’t the carriage already prepared at the estate’s entrance?"

"Prepared already?"

Casimodo was also taken aback.

As they were speaking, suddenly a commotion ca from the outside.

Casimodo looked out to see several Sub-human young girls dressed in Castel maids’ uniforms gracefully walking up to the door, spreading a long red carpet at the entrance.

Casimodo: ...?
