"I'm sorry to trouble you, Miss Yoruichi."
Shiraha cradled Yoruichi in her black cat form, gently stroking her head with his right hand as he smiled. They had stepped out of the Urahara Shop into the courtyard, the rain tapping softly against the tiled roof.
"Brother Shiraha, you're simply a monster when it cos to learning Kidō and Shunpo. In just a few years you've mastered everything Tessai and I taught you."
Yoruichi closed her golden eyes, resting comfortably in his arms, her voice tinged with both admiration and exasperation.
Over the past four years, Shiraha had spent his days at the Urahara Shop. From Tessai Tsukabishi he absorbed Kidō until only the most forbidden techniques of the Soul Society remained beyond him. From Yoruichi, the Flash Goddess herself, he learned Shunpo in its purest form—mastering even her advanced technique, Utsusemi, the instantaneous opening.
At first both Tessai and Yoruichi were startled by his frightening aptitude, but over ti even their astonishnt dulled into resignation.
"It's all thanks to Miss Yoruichi and Mr. Tessai." Shiraha replied with a faint smile.
The rain began to fall harder, a steady rhythm echoing across the yard. Through Observation Haki, Shiraha could sense the shifting air pressure, the dark clouds above, and the faint laughter nearby where two children played. A red-haired boy chased a timid girl with braided pigtails.
The two were Jinta Hanakari and Ururu Tsumugiya, whom Urahara Kisuke had brought back from so unknown place years ago.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Shiraha!" both children called as they ran to him, their voices bright with respect.
They admired him deeply. In those first months after arriving, it had been only Tessai and Shiraha who gave them attention. Yoruichi mostly dozed in her feline form, while Kisuke buried himself in his inventions. Over ti, they had seen Shiraha training underground, weaving Kidō and darting through Shunpo, and to them he seed almost like a Shinigami hero.
"Jinta, how many tis have I told you not to bully Ururu?" Shiraha asked with a teasing smile.
"I wasn't bullying her, right, Ururu?" Jinta pouted.
"Mr. Shiraha… Jinta's right, he didn't bully ." Ururu's voice was soft, her expression timid.
Shiraha laughed lightly. "Forget it. Go play, both of you."
The children bowed politely, then darted away to resu their ga.
"Another dreary day," Kisuke muttered as he stepped into the yard wearing wooden sandals. He stretched lazily before settling beside Shiraha, watching Yoruichi recline in his arms. Mischief glinted in his eyes as he stretched out a hand toward the unsuspecting cat.
A sharp hiss rang out as Yoruichi's claws raked across his skin, leaving deep red marks.
"Ow, ow! Yoruichi-chan, isn't this unfair? Shiraha can pet you all he likes, but I get cut to ribbons?" Kisuke yelped, sulking as he cradled his wounded hand.
Since Shiraha's arrival, Kisuke's standing with Yoruichi had plumted, an unbearable tornt for a cat-lover like him.
"Hmph. Keep your hands off , Kisuke." Yoruichi sniffed and curled back into Shiraha's chest, closing her eyes.
"Mr. Urahara," Shiraha asked, stroking her softly, "have you uncovered anything new about Yhwach these past few days?"
Kisuke shook his head, his brow furrowed. "No progress. The so-called 'Sanctification' manifests from within the Quincies themselves. Once their powers are absorbed, the energy vanishes completely. There's nothing left to trace."
For years Kisuke had been probing the mysteries of Yhwach's Auswählen, the holy selection that devoured the strength of mixed-blood Quincies. Yet every lead had ended in futility.
"How is Miss Masaki now?" Shiraha pressed.
"In stable condition," Kisuke answered. "Her Quincy powers are gone, but she survived as an ordinary human. Losing her heritage was devastating, but she avoided death."
Shiraha nodded quietly. Kurosaki Masaki had beco a mixed-blood Quincy ever since the Hollow attack years ago. Yhwach's sanctification had stripped her completely, but spared her life.
"What puzzles ," Kisuke continued, "is that Isshin's children are also half-blood Quincies. By all logic they should have been affected too. Yet their powers remain untouched."
"Perhaps because their Quincy powers have yet to awaken," Shiraha suggested.
Indeed, in the original tiline Ichigo, Karin, and Yuzu had not been drained by Auswählen. The dormant nature of their bloodline likely shielded them.
"If sanctification only targets awakened Quincy powers… I hadn't considered that." Kisuke muttered, already pacing with furrowed brows. "That could be a vital angle. I'll need to test it imdiately."
He turned on his heel, vanishing back into his workshop with renewed determination.
Shiraha exhaled softly, shaking his head.
A familiar chi resonated in his mind.

Shiraha's gaze sharpened.
"So it begins. The day Grand Fisher cos for Kurosaki Masaki… today is the night of her destined death."
