Lucas Warren, I will never trust you again.
I’m telling you, if one day Hunter and I are driven to our deaths, I won’t let you off even as a ghost."
Faye Townsend hung up the phone after she finished speaking.
She let out a breath, her heart pounding, eyes fixed on the mobile phone.
Before long, just as she expected, the phone started ringing again.
Smirking, she casually hung up the phone.
It rang again after a short while.
After a few back and forths like this, Faye Townsend simply turned off her phone.
After considering for a mont, she stood up and left her office: "Declan, are there any work-related outings scheduled for today?"
Declan Rivers looked puzzled as he opened the work schedule for the day and glanced at it: "We’re set to inspect the factory at eleven o’clock."
Faye Townsend checked her watch, nine o’clock: "Let’s prepare to head to the factory now.
Bring the docunts that need to be signed to the car to read."
"Huh?" Declan Rivers looked at her, not understanding.
Faye Townsend smiled: "Alright, just do as I say.
Secretary Li, if anyone cos looking for today, no matter who it is, just tell them I’m out and you don’t know where."
"Understood, Director Townsend," Brielle Golden answered respectfully, rising to nod her head.
Faye Townsend then went back into the room to grab her bag and long wool coat and went downstairs with Declan Rivers.
At noon, the two of them had lunch outside, and only after dealing with things that needed to be attended to outside the company in the afternoon did they return to the company.
When the car reached the company’s entrance, it was just three o’clock in the afternoon.
Faye Townsend sat in the car and let Declan Rivers return to the office first.
She sat in the car for more than ten minutes before getting out.
Walking into the company lobby with her head held high, as she approached the elevator, soone grabbed her wrist from behind with a rough pull.
Faye Townsend was startled and looked up to see it was Lucas Warren, her brows knitting together in anger: "How co you’re here?"
"After your cryptic phone call this morning, I was sowhat puzzled.
I don’t understand why I had to endure your accusations this morning.
What do you an I didn’t keep Hunter’s secrets?
What do you an you won’t let off even if you beco a ghost?"
Faye Townsend struggled to pull her wrist away, but Lucas Warren gave her no opportunity to do so.
He forcefully pressed her against the wall, and Faye Townsend shouted angrily: "Lucas Warren, what do you think you’re doing? This is my company."
"So what? Since you’re not willing to be honest, then I have to force you to be. Tell , what exactly do you an?"
Faye Townsend clenched her teeth; she had deliberately lured him into a trap, but the way he was trying to turn the tables on her now was a bit worrying.
This was the company, after all; she hadn’t expected him to dare to be so bold ’under everyone’s watch’.
Fortunately, at this ti, all the employees were at work, and no one really noticed what was happening here.
"You’re still playing dumb. I’m asking you, are you really the only one who knows this secret? Are you sure?"
Faye Townsend glared at him, her heart slightly fearful, but her deanor did not falter.
Lucas Warren sneered coldly: "I have never told anyone.
Of course, if the old lady had told soone else all those years ago, then that’s a different story.
But any leaked information has nothing to do with ."
Faye Townsend laughed mockingly: "Do you never prepare your lies? Sebastian Sheldon has approached ; she knows about this too.
She said she knew a secret about Hunter.
Initially, I thought it was just you boasting in front of her about coming back to deal with Hunter, that you had secrets, leverage over Hunter.
But unexpectedly, she revealed the content of the secret.
I asked her how she found out about this, and she told that even though you have been married for many years, and though there were argunts and beatings, you also told her about it.
She even said that you personally told her you one day intended to break Hunter’s wings and let him die from the pain."
Faye Townsend, as she spoke, watched the surprise flickering at the bottom of Lucas Warren’s eyes.
She forcefully pushed him aside to get so distance: "Back off, don’t touch ."
Lucas Warren’s eyes shifted slightly: "Did she say that?"
"Of course, I heard it with my own ears.
You and your wife are really vicious.
Using the sa secret to blackmail twice.
What, in your eyes, am I, Faye Townsend, that easy to bully?
Lucas Warren, here’s what I have to say today.
If you want to expose it, then do it quickly and get it over with.
Anyway, I am already prepared to stand with Hunter or fall with him.
But if you do not expose it, then you better keep your mouth shut tightly.
I can accept if only you know this secret.
But knowing how much I detest Sebastian Sheldon, how could you treat like this.
I would rather you broadcast this secret to the world than have Sebastian Sheldon walk around with the pass you gave her, coming in front of to stab with a knife freely.
It really hurts, do you know that?
Isn’t one person, you, hurting , not enough?"
"Stop talking," Lucas Warren interrupted her with an icy look in his eyes.
He looked up at her with clenched fists, ’pain’ visible in his eyes: "Let tell you, I have no idea how Sebastian Sheldon learned about this, but one thing is certain, I didn’t tell her."
"Do you think I will believe you?" Faye Townsend glared at him.
Lucas Warren nodded: "Fine, it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe . I will use my own thods to deal with those who don’t know their place and vindicate my innocence.
Faye Townsend, rember well, I, Lucas Warren, may be despicable, but I would never take Sebastian Sheldon as my ally."
After he finished speaking, he stepped back, turned around, and left, saying as he walked, "I will give you a satisfactory answer."
Watching Lucas Warren’s retreating figure, Faye Townsend scoffed coldly, slowly crossing her arms, a trace of venom flashing through her eyes.
