Connie and Tong Aino had just entered Yi Luowa’s bedroom when the chef and nutritionist followed the butler inside.
After finishing his conversation with the two of them, Long Che called Tong Airui in. Though Maize Kaikai had been vague about the near miscarriage involving his daughter-in-law, Long Che had understood enough. He wanted to get the details—for instance, what tricks that deceitful girl from the Ruan family had pulled, and where his son had taken her afterwards. Only once he fully understood could he take precautions to cover any potential loopholes in the situation.
Tong Airui initially didn’t want to say anything, but when Dad asked, he couldn’t refuse and recounted everything from beginning to end.
Long Che listened with a grave expression before unexpectedly laughing. "You did the right thing! Our Luowa is no ordinary woman! Her way of thinking is more far-sighted than yours."
Tong Airui nodded in satisfaction; he loved hearing people praise his wife.
Long Che rapped the table lightly, "...Over the next few months, for the sake of my granddaughter, you need to behave! Do you understand what I an?"
Tong Airui’s lips twitched slightly, "Dad, I understand."
Long Che picked up a pen and paper, "Alright, you can leave. I’ll write down the na I’ve thought of and let Luowa choose later."
Tong Airui chuckled, and as he was about to leave, Long Che stopped him again. "Don’t make Luowa upset! Whatever she wants to eat, if she’s too shy to ask us directly, just tell your mom so she can buy it for her."
"Okay."
"I don’t see Luowa reacting much right now, but don’t let things end up like they did with your mom when she was pregnant with you and your siblings—suffering later in the pregnancy. Sigh... Being a woman is tough; as husbands and sons, since we can’t share their suffering, all we can do is treat them well."
Tong Airui laughed, "Dad, in this respect, you’re better than I am. I need to learn from you. If you could stop teasing Mom so often, you’d be absolutely perfect!"
Long Che widened his eyes, "When have I ever teased your mom! She’s always the one bullying ! Get out of here; don’t annoy ! I’m naming my granddaughter!"
Tong Airui shook his head with a helpless smile and walked out the door.
Long Che snorted, "What do you kids know! Your mom and I call that playful banter! My own wife—I couldn’t actually bear to really upset her!"
"Is your dad acting up again?" Tong Yao asked her son as she caught sight of his helpless expression, frowning slightly.
"Nope, he’s perfectly fine. He’s naming your granddaughter and kicked out in the process," Tong Airui laughed. "Dad even told to be nicer to you—said you’ve had it tough."
Tong Yao pursed her lips, "Him teasing less would an more than anything else!"
"Dad said that’s not teasing you; it’s his way of expressing love for you."
Tong Yao turned to Madam Jing Ya, "Mom, listen to how eloquent your son is!"
Madam Jing Ya laughed, "It’s all your spoiling—too late to complain to now!"
Tong Yao rubbed her forehead, "Well then, no more spoiling him. I’ll use the rod on him next ti!"
Madam Jing Ya chuckled and gently patted her hand. "Alright, don’t get mad. I’ll scold him for you soti. But when I do, you better not feel sorry for him."
Tong Yao laughed, "I won’t feel sorry for him at all!"
Tong Airui pointed toward his own room, "Mom, hasn’t the youngest and his wife co out yet?"
"Nuo’er went upstairs, and Connie is chatting with Luowa. Later, Kaikai and your grandfather will arrive. Call Xuanxuan and ask him and your aunt when they’ll get here."
"Here we co, here we co..." Yan Zi’s laughter echoed from outside the door. "How could I miss a big occasion like this? I was just out buying so supplents for Luowa, so I’m a bit late."
Even though her voice ca in first, Youyou dashed in ahead of her, carrying bags full of supplents. "Grandpa, Grandma, hello!"
Madam Jing Ya smiled affectionately, "Youyou, I haven’t seen you for days. Was it fun at your fourth brother’s place?"
"Grandma, my fourth brother’s place is super fun," Youyou pouted slightly. "But my fourth brother said I can’t go there all the ti just for no reason."
Mi Chenxuan entered, his arm hooked lazily around his mother’s shoulder.
Yan Zi chuckled and slapped his hand away, "A grown man like you still clinging to !"
Mi Chenxuan pouted in discontent, "No matter how old I am, I’ll always be your son."
Youyou swaggered over and slapped his own shoulder, "Mi Chenxuan, co on, put your arm around my shoulder instead!"
Mi Chenxuan shook his head, "Your shoulder doesn’t sll like Mom."
Youyou raised his arm and sniffed it, "Then what do I sll like?"
"You sll like a wife!" Yi Luowa joked with a burst of laughter from the bedroom doorway.
"You, child! Why are you out of bed again?" Yan Zi quickly walked over. "I was just about to co in and check on you."
"She’s afraid of you checking on her too much, so she scrambled out of bed in a hurry," Connie supported Yi Luowa’s arm and teased, "Sister-in-law, why don’t you sit and chat with Aunt on the sofa?"
