Kou’er knowingly pushed open the window and glanced outside before nodding at Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa put on her clothes, stuffed the pillow under the blanket, and climbed out through the rear window with Kou’er.
Instead of leaving directly, the two hid behind the bushes and sent a text to Yuan Hang.
After reading the text, Yuan Hang quickly returned to his room and replied to Kou’er with two words: "Received!"
"Let’s go!" Yi Luowa glanced at the ssage, pulled Kou’er into the forest, and said, "Kou’er, this forest circles the island. If I move through it, no one will notice . I’ll head to the hotel by myself, and you go back to support Yuan Hang."
"I need to protect you! If Father sent you to the hotel, he’ll definitely have people provide reinforcents. Yuan Hang will be fine with the extra support."
Yi Luowa looked at Kou’er, whose eyes clearly showed anxiety, yet she was unwilling to leave Yi Luowa behind.
Yi Luowa tightened her grip on Kou’er’s hand. "Then let’s move quickly."
Kou’er nodded and dragged Yi Luowa as they rushed through the forest.
Halfway through the forest, four n suddenly appeared, running toward them. Kou’er instantly beca alert, pulling Yi Luowa behind her. She raised her gun and demanded, "Who’s there?"
"Is that Kou’er? It’s , Dapeng." Though the voice was a bit faint, Kou’er still recognized Dapeng’s voice.
Kou’er heaved a sigh of relief. "Why are you here?"
"Fourth Brother sent us," Dapeng replied, bringing his team closer.
Yi Luowa stepped out from behind Kou’er. "Kou’er and I are fine. You take your people and reinforce Yuan Hang. If anyone targets , it’ll an danger for him too."
"The reinforcents have already been sent," Dapeng replied softly. "Let’s move. Fourth Brother said maybe he’s overthinking it, but it’s always better to be cautious."
Knowing reinforcents had been sent to Yuan Hang, Yi Luowa finally felt a bit relieved. With everyone’s protection, they quickly moved toward the hotel.
When they were about 500 ters away from the hotel, Dapeng’s earpiece crackled with Mi Chenxuan’s voice, "Dapeng, respond if you hear !"
"Received! Go ahead!"
"Where are you now?"
"Five hundred ters from the hotel."
"Good! You’re within the safe zone. You can exit the forest now."
"Understood!" Dapeng led the group out of the forest. Erging from the trees, they realized the periter was surrounded by heavily ard mbers of Team Condor.
Yi Luowa frowned slightly, her intuition telling her that sothing significant must have happened tonight.
Despite the security team standing guard, Dapeng and Kou’er remained vigilant. They, along with three other team mbers, kept Yi Luowa securely in the center as they hurried into the hotel lobby.
As soon as they arrived, Mi Chenxuan poked his head out of the private elevator and called out, "This way, Sister-in-law."
The group escorted Yi Luowa into the elevator.
Once inside, Yi Luowa asked, "Chenxuan, what’s going on tonight?"
"Soone broke into the hotel and completely ransacked all the guest rooms on the thirteenth floor. Fourth Brother suspects the thief’s skills resemble those of You. He was worried you didn’t have enough people around and might be in danger."
Mi Chenxuan paused montarily. "Won have a sixth sense; my Fourth Brother—that genius—has a seventh sense! His concerns turned out to be right. Shortly after you left, soone broke into your room and fired two shots at the bed."
"What about Yuan Hang?" Kou’er asked anxiously.
"Yuan Hang’s fine," Mi Chenxuan replied with a chuckle. "Looks like my Sister Kou’er’s already acting like a caring little wife!"
Yi Luowa pinched his arm. "Is this really the ti to be teasing Kou’er? Was the person who tried to kill captured?"
Mi Chenxuan winced in pain before replying, "Caught one of them, yes. But the other is still on the run."
Yi Luowa frowned. "Two of them?"
Mi Chenxuan rubbed his arm and nodded. "A father-daughter pair."
"A father-daughter pair?"
Mi Chenxuan smirked mischievously. "Just wait till Fourth Brother gives you a tongue-lashing!"
Yi Luowa glared at him angrily. "What did I do to deserve that?"
"Haha... I’m not going to tell you!"
Everyone in the elevator simultaneously rolled their eyes at Mi Chenxuan in perfect synchrony.
Mi Chenxuan pouted. As the elevator reached the twentieth floor, he led the group out. "Fourth Brother is in the presidential suite."
Walking down the corridor, flanked by ard guards stationed every few paces, Yi Luowa pressed her lips together tightly and silently followed Mi Chenxuan into the suite.
Tong Airui was issuing orders to his subordinates. When his wife entered, he raised his hand slightly, prompting them to leave imdiately.
"Shaken up?" Tong Airui approached her.
Yi Luowa shook her head. "I’m fine. Did you catch the other person?"
Tong Airui’s face darkened. "The target has been identified. Do you know who the fugitive is?"
Yi Luowa pouted. "No idea."
Mi Chenxuan chuckled. "I bet you’re in deep trouble now!"
Yi Luowa turned to glare at him.
"That person is the little girl you asked Fourth Brother to find. If our people hadn’t spotted her by the coast, she’d already be shark bait by now and save us the effort of catching her!"
Yi Luowa froze. "Looks like it really is my fault!"
"Exactly! So next ti, mind your own business. When we t her last evening, I already felt her gaze toward you was off. Too bad I didn’t connect the dots."
Seeing Tong Airui show signs of self-reproach, Yi Luowa quickly reassured him, "If it were that easy to identify soone as a killer on first glance, they wouldn’t deserve the title."
Tong Airui reached out and gently ruffled her hair. "Go rest for a while."
"There’s no way I can sleep. You do your work; I’ll sit here for a bit."
Just as Yi Luowa was about to sit, Tong Airui’s phone started ringing.
He imdiately answered. Yuan Hang’s voice ca through, "Boss, the suspect has been sniped—dead."
"... Have you located the sniper?"
"We have. I’m leading the team to intercept now. This sniper isn’t the little girl; that ans there are at least three killers on the island!"
Tong Airui frowned slightly. "Be careful!"
"Yes, sir!"
As soon as Tong Airui set down the phone, there was a knock at the door.
Mi Chenxuan quickly opened it, and a squad leader entered. "Captain, there’s a little girl dressed as Spiderman outside, surrendering."
"Surrendering? Could it be a trick?" Mi Chenxuan sneered. "Did you search her thoroughly?"
"We did. She had only a bag of hotel-stolen items on her—no weapons."
Tong Airui arched his brow slightly. "I’ll go have a look..."
Mi Chenxuan grabbed him imdiately. "Fourth Brother, better to be safe; let go instead!"
With that, Mi Chenxuan took out a miniature cara and pinned it to his lapel. "Fourth Brother, this way, you can watch the entire interrogation."
Tong Airui nodded approvingly. "Old Eight, be extra careful!"
Mi Chenxuan grinned. "Relax, Fourth Brother. If she’s You’s apprentice, dealing with her will be a piece of cake."
"I’ll go with you," Dapeng offered.
Mi Chenxuan shook his head. "You shouldn’t co. I need you to help with sothing later; I’ll explain shortly."
Turning to the squad leader, Hu Yang, Mi Chenxuan said, "Hu Yang, please prepare a car for . I’ll interrogate her there."
Hu Yang acknowledged and promptly left.
Mi Chenxuan turned to Dapeng. "Dapeng, once I’m inside the car, you’ll need to jam the vehicle’s signals. Make sure no external waves can get through."
Dapeng nodded firmly. "Got it!"
"My life’s in your hands, buddy!" Mi Chenxuan joked, patting Dapeng’s shoulder before turning to Tong Airui and Yi Luowa. "Fourth Brother, Fourth Sister-in-law, I’m off!"
Yi Luowa looked at him with concern. "Chenxuan, be careful out there!"
"Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. You’s still waiting for back ho!" Mi Chenxuan laughed as he stepped out.
Once he left the room, Tong Airui and Dapeng imdiately headed into the study.
Tong Airui activated the surveillance system, keeping his eyes on Mi Chenxuan as he entered the elevator.
Dapeng stood behind Tong Airui, watching the screen intently.
As Mi Chenxuan entered the car, Dapeng began the signal-jamming operation.
Inside the vehicle, Mi Chenxuan faced the little girl, who was dressed in a Spiderman suit.
The little girl stared at him angrily and then turned her head away, puffing her cheeks. "I demand to see your highest-ranking officer!"
"The officer isn’t soone you can casually et," Mi Chenxuan chuckled. "How much triggering power’s packed inside you right now?"
The girl froze montarily. "I don’t understand what you’re talking about!"
Mi Chenxuan grinned. "Your petty tricks can’t escape my sharp eye! But I’ve got bad news for you—and you better not cry!"
"I don’t talk to infants who haven’t even grown facial hair! Beat it!" Enraged, the girl tried to kick him, but her hands and feet were cuffed tightly, leaving her fuming in frustration.
"Just for that remark, I’ll give you two pieces of bad news." Mi Chenxuan leaned back leisurely, gazing at her with amusent. "First, the explosives inside you won’t detonate anymore. Second, your dad..."
The girl’s eyes instantly reddened. She yelled, "What happened to my dad!?"
"He’s dead," Mi Chenxuan declared, staring directly at her. As tears stread down her cheeks, he added, "Killed by your own people’s sniper rifle!"
"I’ll kill her!" The girl roared, struggling violently against her chains, causing a piercing sound as her cuffs grated against the restraints.
