"I don’t need you; I’ll do it myself." As soon as the two entered the hall, they heard Yi Weiyang’s slightly angry voice coming from his room.

Yi Luowa gestured for Tong Airui to go upstairs first before quietly tiptoeing to Yi Weiyang’s room door. Before she could eavesdrop, Huo Li walked out crying.

"Did he scold you again? He loves scolding you so much—why don’t you just try avoiding him?" Yi Luowa said as she pulled Huo Li back into her room.

The two chatted in whispers for over two hours before Yi Luowa finally returned to her own room.

Early the next morning, Huo Li, carrying her suitcase, followed Yi Luowa and left for the capital.

Watching the car drive out of the manor gates, Yi Weiyang let out a long sigh of relief, as though a massive weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

But on the very first day after Huo Li left, he began to experience all kinds of inconveniences. Habitually, he reached for the clothes he needed for the day on the coat rack—only to find it empty. Since he had scolded Huo Li last night, she hadn’t prepared anything for him.

Yi Weiyang froze for a mont, then went to his wardrobe to find a suit. As soon as he stepped out the door, Uncle Li frowned and said, "Why do you look so awkward today?"

Yi Weiyang lowered his head to check himself—he thought his outfit looked fine!

Aunt Li shook her head. "Your shirt and tie color don’t match. Go change quickly. Recently, these little things were all handled by Huo Li. I didn’t pay much attention... Alas."

Yi Weiyang switched to a different tie and took the car to the office.

He called his secretary over for a cup of tea but thought the taste was far inferior to before. Putting it aside, he didn’t take another sip.

The docunts stacked on his desk were not sorted into categories like they used to be. As a result, when it was ti for the eting, he hadn’t even had the chance to review the necessary files.

"Huo Li, hand the cooperation plan with Lin Group."

"..."

No one responded. Yi Weiyang froze for a full five seconds before helplessly pressing the intercom to call the secretary.

After searching high and low, the secretary ca up empty-handed. Left with no choice, he had to call Huo Li.

"Huo Li..." Yi Weiyang ended up saying her na at least fifty tis in the office that day. And on the first day she left, Huo Li received at least twenty phone calls.

That evening, when Yi Weiyang returned ho, his appetite was clearly gone. Without Huo Li’s laughter, the house felt oppressively quiet and dreary.

He thought to himself, logically speaking, the person he cared for the most was Luowa. Yet when Luowa left, he hadn’t felt such overwhelming emptiness. Only later did he figure it out—when Luowa left, there was Huo Li. She had been the one to help him through that most difficult ti.

On the second day, the third day after Huo Li left, life continued to be particularly chaotic for Yi Weiyang.

By the fourth day, even Uncle Li and Aunt Li were starting to feel annoyed. They had been listening to Yi Weiyang sigh all day long, and nobody could endure that.

On the fifth day, as soon as Yi Weiyang arrived at the office, his secretary told him a young lady was looking for him. Feeling puzzled, Yi Weiyang instructed the secretary to let her in. The visitor—if she hadn’t introduced herself—would have been soone he struggled to recognize.

It turned out this was Miss Xia, soone he had been on a blind date with. Their first eting left no impression on him at all. The second eting, however, left a lasting one—for all the wrong reasons. She was overly sentintal, brimming with negativity, and what Yi Weiyang couldn’t tolerate most was her implications during their interactions. They hadn’t established any kind of relationship yet, and she was already dropping hints, asking if the company would all go to Yi Luowa in the future. If so, what would happen to her?

After Miss Xia left, Yi Weiyang called Tong Yao. "Tong Yao, I’m sorry to bother you, but could you tell the Xia family I’m calling things off with Miss Xia?"

Tong Yao agreed readily.

Then Yi Weiyang hesitated for a mont and said, "Huo Li has been staying at your place these past few days. I hope it’s not too much of a hassle."

Tong Yao chuckled and said, "Not at all! Huo Li’s been helping out Joyina at the film set every day and coming ho late. By the way, last night Rui’er brought ho a few friends for dinner, and Huo Li took a liking to one of them. She said she’d bring him over to et you soday and have you check him out."

Yi Weiyang’s mind buzzed. He completely tuned out everything Tong Yao said afterward.

Hanging up the phone, Yi Weiyang went into a frenzy. Damn it, this girl used to cling to him every day, professing her undying love—now she was about to get herself a boyfriend?

Then he suddenly cald down. Wasn’t this exactly what he wanted? He had feared he couldn’t give her lifelong happiness, and now that she’d found soone, why was he still losing it?

On Saturday, after eight days, Huo Li finally returned. This ti, she brought her boyfriend along too.

As they stepped into the hall, not only Yi Weiyang but also Uncle Li and Aunt Li were stunned. Was Huo Li sure she had brought ho a boyfriend and not a father?

Yi Weiyang said nothing, staring at the man who looked older than himself.

Aunt Li noticed the awkward silence and struck up a conversation with the man. She soon learned he was a widower with two sons who were both older than Huo Li.

Unable to bear it any longer, Yi Weiyang kicked the man out of the manor. Afterward, he called Yi Luowa and furiously blad her for finding such an unsuitable match for Huo Li!

Yi Luowa pouted in grievance, "Huo Li’s standards for a partner are like that—what can I do about it? Tong Airui introduced her to plenty of young n. This old guy happened to be a friend’s father, accompanying his son to the etup. But sohow, Huo Li fell for him."

"Soone older than ? Absolutely not!" Yi Weiyang was so furious he wanted to smash things.

"Then keep matchmaking for her," Yi Luowa said with a sly smile.

This weekend, the manor grew particularly lively. mbers of the Eagle team lined up like they were at a park, waiting for Yi Weiyang and Huo Li to appraise them.

Anyone under thirty was rejected by Huo Li; anyone over thirty was rejected by Yi Weiyang. After picking and choosing, the thirty or forty people left the sa way they ca.

"If this keeps up, I’m afraid Huo Li will revert to not wanting to marry like before," Yi Luowa said, too afraid to return to the manor herself. She communicated everything over the phone with Yi Weiyang.

"You see the kinds of people she picks..." Yi Weiyang was speechless with frustration.

"I said the sa thing to her. Her taste in n is terrible—the ones she picks are older than you, and definitely not as good-looking."

"Forget it, we’ll keep searching slowly," Yi Weiyang sighed. "Seems like Huo Li just has an absence of fatherly love influencing her taste. It’ll take so ti to change. Luckily, she’s still young; we can guide her bit by bit."

"Whatever you say," Yi Luowa sighed. "Second Uncle, speaking from the heart—I trust Huo Li is safest in your care."

"Stop talking nonsense!"

"Okay, okay! I’ll stop."

"You tell Huo Li to co back to work. These past few days without her, my life’s been a ss—I can’t find anything."

Yi Luowa pouted, "She’s right nearby—say it to her yourself."

Yi Weiyang pinched his brow. "She hasn’t said a single word to since she got back. How am I supposed to say it?"

"If she’s not talking to you, whose fault is that... Hehe... I’ll stop teasing you. I’ll tell her later."

Who knows what Yi Luowa said to Huo Li, but Huo Li did return to work. Yi Weiyang’s life basically returned to normal. In the morning, his outfit was properly coordinated; at work, his tea was brewed and files organized. Aside from the fact that Huo Li still wasn’t fond of speaking to him, everything else seed manageable.

However, Yi Weiyang gradually noticed things were getting strange. Recently, Huo Li had been spending ti with Old Huang from Human Resources—a man older than him by four years, whose wife had passed away the previous year.

Yi Weiyang started to feel uneasy. It seed Yi Luowa was right; Huo Li’s partner preference really leaned this way. But could she at least make better choices? This Old Huang looked like he was sixty years old!

Deciding to have a serious talk with Huo Li, Yi Weiyang spoke with her for an entire afternoon. However, Huo Li just silently listened without a word. In the end, Yi Weiyang lost his temper and yelled at her.

Huo Li blinked her ocean-blue eyes and looked up at him. "I just like the older, uncle type. You won’t give what I want, yet you won’t let find soone else. If you keep pressuring , I’ll marry Old Huang tomorrow!"

Yi Weiyang slamd his desk hard. "If you marry him, I’ll break your legs!"

"Break my legs, and you’ll end up supporting for a lifeti!" Huo Li stomped out of the room, her high heels clacking loudly.

Yi Weiyang glanced at her departing figure. Damn, she hadn’t listened to a word he said—she was clearly off to find Old Huang again.

"Huo Li, get back here right now!"

Huo Li didn’t look back and kept walking.

Yi Weiyang stord after her, yanked her back to the office.

That afternoon, Yi Weiyang smashed up the office. But as Huo Li stepped out, there weren’t any tears on her face—only a mischievous smile.

That evening, Yi Luowa received a call from Huo Li. After hearing the details, she couldn’t stop laughing into her bed covers.

Tong Airui glanced at her. "Did you win the lottery?"

"Money doesn’t excite much anymore." Yi Luowa chuckled and hugged Tong Airui. "Honey, Huo Li told that my second uncle smashed his office while yelling at her: ’Instead of letting you go after unreliable old n, I’d rather just take care of you myself. I’ll support you for however many years I can. Once I close my eyes, you’re free to do whatever you want, and at least I won’t have to worry anymore.’"

"So they’re good now?" Tong Airui smiled and asked.

Yi Luowa nodded. "I told you: emotional attachnt develops over ti."

Tong Airui playfully pinched her nose. "Just so you know, I’m not calling Huo Li ’Second Aunt.’"

"I wasn’t planning to either," Yi Luowa laughed. "Calling her ’the pig’ feels more natural."

"Well, it’s a happy ending for everyone, at least. Most importantly, Huo Li will treat both you and your second uncle well. It’ll make things easier for you when you visit."

"Doesn’t matter how she treats , as long as she’s good to my second uncle. If Huo Li can give him all her love, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do the sa."

Just as Yi Luowa was saying this, the person beside her rolled over and pinned her down. "You’ve been spending all your ti on this lately. Now that there’s a resolution, it’s ti to make it up to ."
