Han Ping was still sitting in the hall.
His long fingers played with the tea cup, looking thoughtful.
Liu Xiruo softly called out, "Uncle Han."
Han Ping drank a sip of tea and asked, "Has Zhou Huo left?"
Liu Xiruo responded with a hum, ca over to extinguish the cigarette by his side, and said with concern, "Smoking too much isn’t good."
Just then a servant ca to ask, "Sir, what would you like for dinner?"
Liu Xiruo knew that Han Ping and his wife were living apart.
She smiled softly, "I can make a couple of dishes for Uncle Han!"
The servant rubbed the apron, staying silent, only looking steadily at their master.
Han Ping glanced up at Liu Xiruo and then smiled slightly, "It’s getting late. Xiruo, you’d better go ho early and accompany Shaojun! I’m not eating at ho."
Liu Xiruo’s expression froze.
She then asked him where he was going to eat, if he had any social engagents.
Han Ping picked up his coat and dusted it off: "Not at all! I’m worried about your aunt and going to check on her."
Liu Xiruo naturally said, "ngng is at an age to be worried about."
Han Ping’s gaze was deep.
He said very plainly, "ngng is quite well-behaved, the one who’s unsettling is her mom! Not young anymore, but quite temperantal... She’s been quarrelling with for a few days. If I don’t go soothe her, she might not be willing to co back for a year and a half!"
After speaking, he looked at Liu Xiruo: "Just right, let’s leave together!"
Liu Xiruo didn’t even have a reason to stay.
She lowered her eyes and smiled: "Uncle Han and Aunt have a loving relationship."
Han Ping stepped over the threshold, speaking unremarkably: "Old couples, no need for love and affection, just feel off if we don’t see each other for a day!"
They chatted idly for a while, strangely, all revolved around Mrs. Han.
By the ti they reached the car, the smile at the corner of Liu Xiruo’s mouth had already faded a lot.
She knew she had lost.
Her years of unrequited love, had been seen through by the man in front of her... He refused her without making a fuss.
In his words, he told her that he loves his wife.
And that Liu Xiruo could only ever be his junior.

Han Ping drove to Mrs. Han’s place.
Mrs. Han was accompanying their daughter in piano practice.
When he opened the door, she was surprised: "Why did you co over?"
Han Ping’s gaze was deep: "Not welco?"
Mrs. Han was rather indifferent; she apparently hadn’t forgiven him yet. She said formally, "Have you eaten?"
"Not yet!"
Han Ping took off his coat and glanced at his daughter.
Han ngng was still practicing the piano.
He said to his wife again: "Xiruo was at the house earlier, she was going to make a couple of dishes."
Mrs. Han did not like Liu Xiruo.
She was sowhat jealous, but with the child at ho, she couldn’t speak openly, so she let out a light snort: "Then why did you co here?"
Han Ping gently pinched her waist and whispered: "Have you eaten? If you have, just bring over whatever’s left, I’ll make do with it."
He was usually so particular, but this ti he acted out of the ordinary.
Mrs. Han looked at him a few tis but still cooked him a fresh beef stir-fry rice.
After Han Ping finished eating, he sat in the dining room smoking...
Mrs. Han ignored him and went to accompany their daughter again.
She was gracious and elegant, very gentle when with their daughter... Han Ping watched quietly, unwilling to disturb.
He took his coat and left quietly.
When he opened the car door downstairs, a voice stopped him: "Han Ping."
He turned around to see his own wife.
Han Ping took off his leather gloves and tossed them into the car, then turned back: "Why did you co down? It’s so cold and you didn’t wear a coat."
Ultimately unable to bear to tell her to go up imdiately, he took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
He leaned against the car, she leaned against him... The old couple had a touch of romance.
Mrs. Han whispered, "I noticed you seed off earlier, did sothing happen?"
Han Ping smiled slightly, "No!"
