Kale, Ian, and Ming, along with other soldiers, were in a large room filled with various training dummies and equipnt.

The three looked around and saw the others practicing the use of their beast infusion. Sothing that Kale was incapable of at the mont.

Ming patted his shoulders to reassure him that all would be alright.

Space flickered and Mr Grey appeared with a faint smile on his face.

He gestured to the soldiers, and they gathered around in a circle with him at the center.

"From this mont onwards, you will be made to form a five-man team. The mbers will be decided by ." He pointed at five people and made them a team.

Slowly, teams were being made, soon leaving only five people; Kale, Ming, Ian, Felix, and another boy.

A wry smile spread on Mr Grey’s lips, "Well then, everything is settled. Practice with one another. Missions will soon be assigned to each team."

Space flickered and once again, Mr Grey vanished.

Kale approached the other boy and extended his hand for a shake. "What’s your na?"

The boy had dirty brown hair and a seemingly shy attitude.

"Jason." He finally spoke after fidgeting a bit.

"I’m Kale, that’s Ming..." He pointed at Ming, "... and that’s Ian." Kale finished with his finger pointing at the red-haired giant.

Felix approached Jason, "I’m Felix." He spoke, throwing glares at Kale.

Ming walked closer, "I think we should occupy a training room as soon as possible, we need to see our beast infusions in full effect."

Kale and Ian humd in agreent.

The five walked out of the room, heading to the training room.

They entered and stayed so distance away from one another.

Kale pointed at Felix, "Show us your beast infusion first."

The latter squinted his eyes before sighing. A translucent wing made of golden energy spread out of his back.

It flexed and flapped, causing Felix to vanish from his position.

He appeared a few ters away from his original position. He had teleported.

Felix flapped in rapid succession and each ti, he appeared in a different location; the air, the ground, nowhere was off limits.

Jason soon stepped forward as Felix was teleporting and threw sothing small.

Felix appears, and the tiny pebble hits him.

The forr stopped and looked at Jason, "What was that for?"

Jason chewed the inside of his cheeks, "I used my beast infusion to predict where you would be." He muttered.

Kale’s eyes widened, the implications of his words were massive.

Felix had gotten his infusion from a beast that would have been deadly to face. Jason having such a strategic ability was a gift.

The five looked at each other in silence before Kale spoke.

"How about we spar and discover the true limits of our various beast infusions?" His suggestion was quite sound and the others soon agreed.

Kale tapped on his watch, equipping his battle suit. He pulled out his sword while waiting for them to put on their suits.

Soon, the other four tapped their compression devices and equipped them.

Felix had a bow and a quiver as a weapon. From what Kale could see, the quiver had divided his arrows into three.

Jason, on the other hand, had various small orbs attached magnetically to his suit.

He raised his hand to get their attention, "I think it would be better if I didn’t use my weapons." He gestured to the orbs.

"These are powerful bombs, and I can reduce the danger of the detonation but it will still be far too dangerous."

Kale nodded, "Sure, you can sit aside."

Felix scoffed at Kale’s attempt at leadership, "And who exactly made you the captain of this team?" He voiced out his thoughts.

Ming, Ian, and Kale all looked at him.

"I never said that I was the leader, but how about this: whoever wins this little spar becos the leader?" Kale’s proposition drew Felix’s interest.

"And what about him?" Felix gestured to Jason and the latter squird under their concentrated gaze.

"Umm... I am not, um, participating." He managed to speak, his ears burning.

"Okay then. Let’s make this more interesting. The last person to use their beast infusion wins." Felix brought up his own term.

"Sure." Kale accepts, the condition was far more advantageous to him than Felix knew.

Ming’s knives spun around her hand as she ran forward with her speed enhanced by her shoes.

She ran to Kale and swung her blades at him. Just because they were friends didn’t an she would go easy on him.

The latter tilted his head just enough that the knives cut off a few strands of his hair.

Ian charged in at Felix. The latter booked an arrow to the string and pulled until it beca taut.

He let it go and the arrow went flying with a faint whistle as it cut through the air.

Ian swung his warhamr in ti and it collided with the arrow, destroying it.

Felix equipped a few more arrows and pulled on the string.

His aim was locked on Ian and he let his grip loose, setting the arrows on Ian.

Ian twisted the handle of his warhamr and slamd it into the ground. A shockwave stopped the arrows from getting closer.

Ming and Kale were on the other side. Her hands had not stopped swinging at him, leaving him trapped and unable to use his sword.

Kale bumped into a wall, he was stuck.

Ming’s knives were coming real close. Kale’s breath hitched and his eyes took on a faint ashen glow.
