Kelly’s POV
Today is the weekend and I brought Snow to the shopping mall. I want to spend the weekend with my daughter and also to unwind. I’ve been stressed out because of work. And of course, Caleb’s confession has been lingering in my mind since the day he confessed. I was unable to answer him that day because I was too shocked to react. He just left after he received an ergency call but he made it sure to that he’ll co back and talk to again. He wants to court and he confessed in front of Pierce.
“Daddy, look!”
My attention was stolen by the family eating on the other table. The little girl was smiling so wide at her father.
Bothered, I looked at Snow and caught her smiling while watching the father, mother and daughter. They’re complete. Sothing I’ve been wanting to give my own child but I’m too scared to take the risk.
I caressed Snow’s arm to get her attention. I smiled at her and motioned for her food. Instead of eating, she stared at with her doe eyes.
“Mommy, I have a daddy, right?”
My heart ached but I slowly nodded at her. She never asked before about her father. I don’t know if she doesn’t feel incomplete without her father or she’s just afraid of asking .
“Is he kind like Pierce? Is he handso? Is he tall? Pierce is so tall and handso. I want my daddy to be like him. He’s also so kind. He’s always calling .”
I was shocked because of what she said and the last sentence she said really caught my attention. “He’s always calling you? How?”
She giggled and covered her mouth with her little palms. “I always borrow your phone when you’re asleep, mommy. I always send Pierce pictures of and he always calls every morning.”
I was even more shocked. I didn’t know that. I was too busy to check my phone all the ti. I didn’t even have ti to check my social dia accounts.
I took my phone out while constantly glancing at Snow. I checked the conversation with Pierce and my eyes widened when I saw how many photos Snow had sent to her father. So of them even captured sleeping.
“Are you angry, mommy?”
I dropped my phone and looked at my innocent and sweet daughter. I smiled at her. “No, pumpkin. Why would I?”
“Really? You’re not angry that I’m borrowing your phone?”
I shook my head. “Of course not.”
‘Then...” She trailed and grinned innocently. “Can I call Pierce daddy?”
My heart almost jumped out of my ribcage. “Huh?”
“Mommy, I want him to be my daddy. He’s so nice. Please, marry him.”
My eyes widened. I coughed and moved closer to her. “Baby, I can’t just marry him. We have to be in love with each other to get married.”
Her innocent eyes stared at my face. “What is in love, mommy? If you do that to Pierce, will you marry him?”
I bit my bottom lip. I’ve been in love with him ever since, sweetheart. He just doesn’t have any idea.
“Can I join you?”
“PIERCE!” Snow jumped out of her seat and ran to the person behind . I suddenly felt my hands getting cold and sweaty after hearing Pierce’s voice behind .
When he went to my side, he’s already carrying Snow. They’re both smiling at .
“Sorry. I know this is your bonding, but I couldn’t help myself.”
I did my best to give him a casual smile. “I-It’s okay.”
Pierce sat on the chair beside and put Snow on his lap.
God! Please, Snow, sweetie. Don’t say anything about him being your daddy...
“Pierce, can I call you daddy?”
***Phoebe’s POV
“Where’s Pierce?” Mom asked while roaming her eyes around. We’re in the mall. We went to the cinema and Pierce saw Kelly and Snow in a fastfood restaurant so he left us.
“Phoebe, where’s your brother? I just went to the ladies room for a while. Why did you let him leave? He’s just gonna drown himself at work again.”
I smirked at her. “He’s not at work, mom.”
“Then where is he? He promised to spend the weekend with us.”
“He just saw soone he knows.”
Mom’s forehead creased. She doesn’t believe but I don’t have any intention to tell her where Pierce is.
Kelly didn’t tell about Snow’s real father but I can feel it, in my heart, that she’s my niece. It was just Pierce who couldn’t tell. He’s still so dumb even after so many years. I can’t believe him.
I smiled at mom and dragged her to the nearest store. We spent ti shopping for new clothes and bags. While walking out of the last store we visited, mom stopped, looking sowhere with a shock face.
“Is that your brother?”
I looked at the direction she’s looking at and my eyes widened after I saw Pierce standing inside the arcade. He’s carrying Snow and at the counter, changing tokens was Kelly.
“Who’s that kid?” Mom couldn’t see Snow’s face.
“Mom, let’s go.”
“Phoebe, that’s your brother. Whose kid is with him?”
“Let him be, mom. He’s old enough to decide for himself.”
Mom looked at with shock. “Decide for himself? I thought he’s pursuing Kelly—Oh my God! Is that Kelly?”
I bit my bottom lip when Kelly walked towards Pierce and Snow slightly moved her face. I heard mom gasp as she covered her mouth.
Mom looked at . “They’re together? Co on let’s—”
“Mom.” I held her hand before she could walk towards them.
I watched how Kelly and Pierce, still carrying Snow, entered the arcade. I smiled and looked at mom again.
“Phoebe, I want to know about that kid. That’s Kelly’s daughter, right? Was that Klay Carvers? But...”
“Mom, let’s just leave them alone.”
“No! I won’t be able to sleep peacefully now...”
“Mom, Pierce is trying to fix his relationship with Kelly.” I said, making her stop. I sighed and stared at the arcade. “Pierce has been suffering ever since they separated, mom. Let’s just let Pierce handle this. If you ddle, it might scare Kelly. Pierce will suffer again.”
When I looked at mom, she’s looking at with a shocked face. “W-Why...would I scare her off?”
I stared at her. “You think I didn’t know what you did years ago? When you talked to Kelly?”
She bit her bottom lip, guilty.
I pursed my lips. “You and dad are hiding things from us, but you cannot hide everything, mom. Don’t intervene with Pierce and Kelly. If you do, I’ll tell Pierce about what you did to Kelly before. Let’s just trust Pierce. He’s your son. He can do this on his own.”
