Because a suspicious car was following them, the trip from Sawyer’s parent’s ho to their own, which should have taken less than an hour, ended up taking over an hour.

They took different routes to get to the Garden Hill Complex. Once they finally reached their house and got out of the car, Abigail took the chance to ask him.

Abigail glanced at him after entering the elevator to the third floor. "Sawyer, who is following us?" she asked worriedly.

Sawyer glanced at her. He tightened his grip before telling her about his suspicions: those people were Harvey’s people.

Abigail was no longer surprised to hear the answer; she had already suspected it was Harvey. Only Harvey Jones would be bold enough to follow Sawyer at this hour, especially after what had happened at their grandfather’s house. That man would never let Sawyer escape unscathed.

"Sawyer, why, I’m..." Abigail’s voice faded when she saw his face getting closer, and his lips claid hers.

The unexpected kiss surprised her, but she didn’t pull away from his deep, sweet kiss. Instead, her hands wrapped around his neck. His commanding lips enveloped hers, dancing with her stiff tongue to intertwine with his in a seductive manner.

After the long, tender, sweet kiss, she felt him loosen his embrace and lift her chin to et his gaze. Her breath caught the fresh air quickly, and she smiled shyly, looking into his bright blue eyes.

She noticed his confident smile reflected in his gaze, and her worries about Harvey gradually faded away.

"He won’t be able to do that. He doesn’t have a chance..." Sawyer’s voice was like a lody to her ears.

She smiled while nodding at him. However, his warm thumb rubbed her lips, preventing her from saying anything.

He maintained his alluring tone, "Abby, let’s wash up. Our cozy bed is calling us. Let’s enjoy so ti together in our bed, my little wife..."

Abigail remained silent, trying to calm her mind after realizing what he intended to do. Without noticing, she found herself in his arms as he carried her to the bathroom.

...

In the CMD Building.

The following day, the dia buzzed with news from J Group’s press release on its website announcing that Harvey Jones was no longer the company’s CEO and that Walter Jones would temporarily replace him.

When Abigail read the news, she was shocked. She didn’t anticipate that they would remove him from the company so quickly.

Now, Abigail understood why Harvey had left the house so abruptly after leaving Walter Jones’s study last night. When Hannah and Martha asked him to stay longer, he declined and took Angela to leave the house.

’Surely, this would make him hate Sawyer even more, wouldn’t it?’ Abigail wondered as she continued reading several articles with clickbait titles.

[ Is Harvey Jones’s removal connected to his ongoing case? ]

[ Harvey Jones is going to jail!? ]

[ Harvey’s opportunity to inherit J Group has slipped away! ]

The last article Abigail read shocked her:

[ Sawyer Jones, the youngest son of Walter Jones, is being considered for the next CEO of J Group. ]

"Oh my God! This isn’t good. Now, they’re starting to ntion Sawyer’s na in their articles. Did he know about this?" She sighed deeply, thinking about what to do next.

After a few monts, Abigail placed her iPad on the table and grabbed her cell phone. She needed to ask Sawyer to check the news online.

Sawyer didn’t answer her phone call until the last ring ended.

Abigail frowned as she stared at her phone screen.

"Is he asleep?"

Abigail muttered to herself, a faint smile on her lips. She gazed at the ceiling and imagined her husband sleeping and waiting for her on the fifth floor. Though she longed to rush upstairs and ask him directly, she knew she couldn’t ignore the project that needed her urgent attention.

"Sawyer, please check the internet. The dia is starting to feature you in their articles."

After sending the ssage, Abigail returned to work, determined to finish all her pending tasks before heading upstairs to et her husband.

Before long, the buzzing of her cell phone distracted Abigail. When she noticed Sawyer’s text ssage, her smile grew wider.

"Sorry, Abby. I missed your call; I’m busy in the kitchen. When you’re done, co upstairs. It’s lunchti."

Abigail smiled warmly. She shut her laptop, planning to continue working from upstairs.

When she opened the door, she saw Milan waiting outside her office, and she looked as spiritful as usual.

"Boss, I was just about to remind you to have lunch. What do you want to eat for lunch? I’ll order it for you," Milan said.

"No need, Milan. I’ll head upstairs. My husband is waiting for up there with his cooking." Abigail hurried toward the elevator, leaving Milan shocked and speechless as he watched her.

When she arrived on the fifth floor, Abigail was surprised to find Ethan and Vincent in the living room with Sawyer. What surprised her even more was seeing Paul, Sawyer’s butler, busy in the kitchen with their chef.

"Abby, are you already hungry?" Sawyer stood up from the sofa and walked over to her. "Just wait a couple more minutes; they’ll be done soon."

Earlier, she was happy that Sawyer had cooked for her. But it turned out he hadn’t.

"Hubby, I thought you cooked. It turns out it was the chef and Paul..." Abigail playfully smiled while narrowing her eyes at him.

Sawyer grabbed her hand and led her to the seating area to sit with him. "Sorry, little wife... I wanted to cook for you, but there aren’t many ingredients here. So, I asked them both to co cook for us."

She didn’t reply but glanced at Ethan, sitting in front of them with a laptop on his lap. Suddenly, she recalled the articles circulating out there.

"Sawyer, did you get my ssage?" Abigail asked, glancing at Sawyer with concern.

"Hmm, yeah. I read it. Don’t worry, Ethan will take care of those articles..." Sawyer answered calmly while stroking Abigail’s long black hair that hung down her back.
